Time is a bargaining tool.
Scara knew that.
“You want me to feature on your album?” You repeated Scara’s words, beginning to doubt your ability to hear, “Do you realize how risky that is?”
Scara bobbed his head with pleased a expression etched on his face as if his words weren’t weighted with worry, “That’s why I asked you if you were ready to take a risk.”
You stood up, unable to sit still, now pacing across the room. Bambi must have sensed your unease, because he too, started following you while rubbing himself against your legs, “On a normal occasion, I wouldn’t mind. But you’re playing with two careers here. I might sound frustrating, refusing your offer, but don’t blame me for being realistic.”
“When have I ever cared about reputations?”
You fought the urge to smack him back into his senses.
“Never, but you’re in an industry where the public’s opinion can change the trajectory of the career you’ve established for years.”
And I don’t want you to go through that as well.
“We’re not puppets.”
“That’s debatable.”
Scara sighed, tousling his hair once again—his nervous habit, “We shouldn’t let them control us.”
It’s easier said than done.
But you understood where he was coming from.
You faced him, offering your utmost sincerity, “I don’t want to drag you in my mess. Nor do I want to cause more trouble than necessary.”
Silence engulfed the room. You glanced over at your friend. He’s deep in thought, gaze intense, expression unreadable. But you knew he was scheming, thinking of ways to persuade you—anything to assure you that all’s well, ends well.
Because what Scara wants, Scara gets.
“How long is your hiatus?”
You shrugged your shoulder and decided to sit back down. Bambi trailed you as he leaped up the bed and onto your lap. Clingy cats are the best, “I don’t know, but they’ll probably kick me out before it’s over. I have less than three months left, anyway.”
“What if we use this opportunity?”
“What do you mean?”
He crossed his arms, “Tell your story. Your silence leaves for more assumptions to grow.”
“I would if they let me use my voice. I was planning to wait until my contract is up to take legal actions.”
He tilted his head, “Why can’t you now?”
“Because they’re silencing me. Especially since my accuser is from the same company,” You deadpanned, stating the obvious, a detail he may have forgotten.
Scaramouche scoffed in disbelief, eyebrows furrowed as he shook his head in disapproval, “But they’re willing to throw you under the bus and take her side over you?”
“Which is why I don’t want to be responsible for ruining the career you’ve built for years. Even my friends are receiving unnecessary hate just because they’re connected to me.”
“So it’s a lost cause?”
You nodded.
“Can you…” Scara hesitated, wondering if he should continue, “Can you think it over some more? At least until your hiatus is up?”
You crossed your arms, failing to hide the faint smile creeping across your lips, “You sound desperate.”
“Enjoying my misery?”
“Absolutely.”
“I’ll win you over, just wait.”

04. Take a risk?
Vulnerability is a demanding feat for Scara.
In fact, vulnerable Scara is a privilege not many have seen. He does not allow himself to slip through the harsh mold he sculpted for himself.
So imagine the bewilderment on your face upon finding your dear friend lying in the comfort of your bed, face down on the once perfectly, cushioned pillows, with his phone sitting atop the edge.
You inched closer before settling near his sleeping frame.
Scara has not changed. His purple hair retained its fluff, while some strands draped over his closed eyes. He looked at ease—so different from how he usually presents himself.
Years have passed since you’ve last seen him in person, but this was not the reunion you were expecting. Instead, you anticipated a snarky Scara, complaining about your overpacking skills while undermining your decision-making abilities before force-feeding you his favorite Inazuman cuisine as a show of hospitality.
How wrong you were.
Because this was a better sight.
“What are you doing?” Scara’s eyes flung wide open.
Shit.
You cleared your throat, before standing up and feigning ignorance at your earlier actions, “Dhouldn’t I be asking you that question? I entered the room to see you sound asleep in my perfectly made-bed with your outside clothes on.”
“I don’t even know what happened,” he responded while rubbing his eyes and tousling his hair.
What a domestic scene.
“Get out of my bed. You messed it up.”
“You’ll live,” Scara responded as he removed himself from your bed before spotting Bambi lying on the spacious couch across the room with his favorite stuffed bunny neatly wrapped around his feet. Scara pointed at your cat, “You actually brought him?”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
He shrugged, “Because you’re an awful cat owner.”
You threw the perfectly cushioned pillow at his face, “Be careful with your words.”
The light thud of the pillow landing on the floor after hitting his face, roused your once asleep rag doll. Immediately, Scara sat next to Bambi, expecting your cat to sit on his lap, ready to be petted. But you knew better, Bambi despised affection—or so you thought, because your cat gladly took Scara up on that offer and made himself comfortable.
You scoffed at the scene while Scara smirked at your reaction, “It seems Bambi still likes me more than you.”
You rolled your eyes, “He’s probably the only entity in this world to tolerate your cocky ass.”
“My fans would beg to differ.”
You decided to humor him, “Yeah, I’m sure they’d get down on their knees for you.”
“They better.”
“I hate this conversation.”
He chuckled slightly, catching you off-guard, still in disbelief that you were in the same proximity as him, bantering as always as if distance was never an issue.
“You started it,” he said before grabbing his phone, “So what do want to eat?”
“What? It’s twelve in the morning, aren’t you leaving?”
He scratched his head, “Oh, should I go?
No. I missed hanging out with you.
Yes. I’m exhausted.
I don’t know? But I have questions you need to answer.
Fuck it. “I want a bowl of Shimi Chazuke.”
His face brightened up, “Oh, that’s my favorite.”
I know. “What a surprise.”
He continued to scroll on his phone, dedicated on scouring the internet for his favorite midnight snack, “There’s one restaurant open for delivery. Even better—it’s ten minutes away,” He glanced back at you, “Anything else?”
You shook your head, “Ayaka and Thoma already spoiled me today.”
Not only did they feed you, but Ayaka gave you an “Inazuman goodie bag.” You have yet to open it.
“The food should be here in thirty minutes.”
That should be enough time…
You hummed at his words and made yourself comfortable on the bed with a pillow resting on your chest acting as support for your arms as you scroll through your phone before saying, “Then while we wait, do want to finally explain why you brought me here?”
You glimpsed at your friend. Scara froze for a second before shifting his posture on the couch, “Straight to the point?”
You nodded, “Why not? That was part of our “deal,” right?”
Scara recalled your conversation.
You found it strange how he kept fidgeting and adjusting in his seat while holding your rag doll like a stress toy. You’re aware of Scara’s sporadic generosity, but was he up to?
Finally, he cleared his throat, “Are you willing to take a risk?”

Champagne Problems
Ayato x gn!reader
Genre: Angst
Notes: but i was supposed to write for the next chapter of Elysian, but champagne problems started playing and it inspired this short drabble. so instead of a new chapter, suffer with angst.

There were signs. You had been waiting for this moment.
Your heartbeat runs rampant through your veins, pumping at an excessive rate, too wild to be tamed. Your stomach flutters not the kind with butterflies, but perhaps bees trying to escape a dying hive.
Ayaka leads you through the crowd. You don’t feel your legs. One more step and you might fall in a puddle of sweat. It’s too loud, filled with plastic smiles and animated voices on unfamiliar faces, invited to celebrate a “joyous occasion.” Their hopeful eyes glimmer,
but to you they’re blinding.
Until you spot him.
Blue hair, lavender eyes, in a white suit, tailored perfectly for him. His sweet smile transports you back to the day flowers first bloomed in your heart.
“Hi,” Ayato chuckles. The familiar lilt of his voice soothes your pounding heart.
You smile back.
The crowd falls silent.
He takes your hand.
You take a deep breath.
Then, he goes down on one knee.
“Will you marry me?”
Fireworks set in your stomach. It’s not pretty. No intricate pattern lights up the sky–simply gunpowder left to dissolve with the dread pooling in your body. You say nothing. Your mouth is glued shut in a moment of panic. Everyone’s eyes are on you, anticipating a response, but the pressure weighs you down–the boulder of their gaze hits the pillars of your heart.
And the dam breaks.
So you run.
You don’t look back, lacking the courage to meet with his eyes–once bright lavender now glistening in tears. His heart of gold, now shattered by your icy hands, broken beyond repair, knowing full well that no stitches can replicate the tapestry you tore down.
The crowd's shocked faces are laced with confusion, concern, and disappointment. For what sane person would not want to marry the Kamisato Ayato?
Now the answer is you with your champagne problems, leaving him to wonder and beg on his knees for an explanation, a simple reason to tame the growing ache in his desperate heart.
But you already left.

Characters (more facts):
Kunikuzushi — Has one private account and a stan account dedicated to you He swears he doesn’t like you like that—he just respects you a lot. He named his stan account “marlin” because it’s the name of the squid plushie in his pfp that you won him from a claw machine. If anyone finds out he runs this account, he’ll never live it down.
Xiao — He sees no point in having a private account. The rest of the 5WIRL members had to beg him to make one.
Aether — Doesn’t know who Marlin is, but has a hunch of who Marlin’s dad is.
Kazuha — It’s hard to find his name without typing “Kazuha 5WIRL.” Most of the time, it’s Kazuha from LE SSERAFIM. Funnily enough, his bias is Chaewon but his bias wrecker is Kazuha.
Heizou — He always jokes about being the forgotten member of 5WIRL. No hard feelings.
Venti — Before management closed his official account’s DM’s, both his “fans” and bots spammed his DM’s with nudes. It was a traumatic experience.

Jean’s Basement
Characters:
Scaramouche — Owns the title of “wildest casting story.” During an interview, Scara stated that he threatened the scouting agent of filing a restraining order if they kept chasing him. Scara declined multiple times after interrogating the scouting agent why he should audition in the first place, but they were persistent. He finally agreed but the audition date overlapped with his exam day. So, the casting agents adjusted their audition schedule for him.
Venti — Looks like a cinnamon roll, will murder you. Venti is the scariest member of 5WIRL. No one messes with his group without paying for it. Once argued with the company over having creative reign for their future albums. The meeting went on for 5 hours. In the end, the company never questioned Venti’s decisions ever again.
Heizou — When he was young, his mother explained how she had a dream of watching him perform on stage with 4 other boys. But, Heizou was naughty and obnoxious growing up, who never fancied other people unless they had stories to tell. He brushed his mother’s words off, before running outside to play with his TCG cards. Little did he know, that adult Heizou would be playing those same cards with the 4 boys his mother saw in her dream at his hotel room after a successful concert.
Kazuha — Since debut, Kazuha has always been the mature member of 5WIRL. He has always maintained a relaxed demeanor during stressful situations. Fans have speculated where his supply of patience comes from especially when living with 4 bickering men. When asked, he always responded with, “Noise canceling headphones, yoga equipment, a locked door, and when times are hard, 🍃 works best — it’s a whole new world.”

Aether — Was supposed to be in the final line-up for 5WIRL, but decided to step-down from the group before debut to work as their producer instead. The 5WIRL members respected his decision.

Characters:
[name] — Has been in the industry for the past 7 years under Fatui Entertainment. You were scouted through your youtube account where you used to sing covers and originals. With no intentions of pursuing music, you ignored it, until Lumine and Aether dared you to audition as a joke. Audition day came and you sang the “banana song” from Despicable Me with Aether’s dead-beat ukulele. 2 months later, you received an acceptance letter.
Ayaka — Used to be a part time model for her older brother’s clothing collection before becoming a renowned actress throughout Teyvat after starring as a lead in one of Hutao’s shows. Brand deals were sold left and right. Every product she showed on camera became out of stock.
Lumine — Began vlogging during your senior year to “capture the last moments of high school.” After uploading her first video, thousands of views, likes, and comments flooded her inbox within 12 hours. The viewers loved seeing the chaotic chemistry between the three of you, earning you the nickname, “Golden Trio.”
Hutao — Famous for producing fantasy or historical based films with tragic endings. She has mentioned in multiple interviews that she owns a cup that said “tears of my viewers.” It’s a bit sadistic, but every time she uses it, new ideas come to mind. That’s when her co-workers know that a new hit movie is in the making.
Aether — Was a former trainee who was set to debut in a boy group, but instead quit to became a producer. No one truly knows why, not even Lumine. However, he seems happier with his job now—meeting new people and traveling between places seems to be his calling.
Thoma — The famous manager of DCKZ. He was caught walking towards the company building, wearing a black mask, while scrolling through his phone when suddenly reporters camping outside, told him to stand and wave for the camera, thinking that he was one of the DCKZ members. Still confused, Thoma did what was asked before the reporters realized their mistake. The video blew up and ever since that day, many fans greeted him eagerly during concerts.
