Difficult to fell asleep, because there's a question bothering me:

Why did the Valar choose their spouse only from Valar? There were also a lot of Maiar.🤔Were they actually arranged marriages? Or were the Vala-Maia romantic actually strictly forbidden? And of course, considering there are so many Maiar and only 15 Valar, the possibility for the Maiar of being picked by a Valar is pretty slim.

Think of it this way, isn't Melkor and Marion's love kind of romantic? Think about it, Melkor, the most powerful being in existence, who arises in mighty, choose "the one", Mairon, over million of Maiar. And Marion, as a little Maia, fell in love with that big, dark, scary Vala? I would discribe it as a brave.

I'd like to think that Sauron in third age still had a fare form, he had silver or white hair, and because he had lost a lot of power, he was as pale as ash, except for his eyes, which were extrodinarily bright, as if there were sparks left among the embers of a fire.(And of course, with the destruction of the One, the last sparks would burn out, too.) And for Angmar, his master was, and would always be the fairest being in his heart.(Maybe he accepted the ring for staying with his master forever? Who knows lol)

In my hc, the ainur, especially Aule and Yavanna regard this(pretend like nothing happened)as a kind of forgiveness and comfort, and Mairon understands. But for Marion himself, he doesn't, and will never regret to his choices. He hopes someone could understand his feelings, too. Maybe Curumo could(they were at the same side during the 3rd age), maybe no one could.

This hc just sparkled in my mind, it may not be that logical but thanks for your reblog!💋

And also, I prefer to regard this hc as a sad story, a tragedy that belongs only to Mairon. I'm sorry it's kind of cruel……😭

In my hc, after the war of the ring, Sauron was forcibly taken to Valinor instead of being thrown through the door, though he was ready for that. In Valar's mercy, he could stay in Valinor as Mairon and serve the Valar like he used to, but it's also a punishment for the damage he's done to Arda-he will never see Melkor again. Mairon loved Melkor no less than other Valar loved their spouse, but now this deep love has caused him eternal pain, he could only wait in despair until the end of the world.

But the Valar were merciful, they treated Marion the same as before. His room looked exactly as he had left, as if its owner had just gone on a long trip and now returned.

The first Ainu Marion met was Yavanna, the wife of his pre-master. She said:"Mairon, my bracelet is broken but I failed to find my husband, could you help me fix it?"

He would have some happiness. Through the way other ainur treat him. Sometimes he would wonder if he had never left and never changed. But meanwhile his love for Melkor is real, too. Sad story😭
