Ahmed, you said no one can get out of Gaza right now. Not even if Egypt allows it? Does it mean we can't donate to escape fundraises anymore?
Keep donating guys because the news says they will withdraw from the border
Right now Israeli tanks control the border from Palestine side

seven years ago in the name of tolerating free speech from all political perspectives my nasty ass evil university let an army of tiki torch wielding nazis shouting jews will not replace us march through grounds threatening the lives of students and community members with zero police presence. and today they retroactively changed campus policy around tents so they could send in the cops to bust up the gaza memorial vigil. genuinely fucking stomach turning

It's so incredibly frustrating to see non-black and indigenous leftists act like the level of police violence being exhibited towards the student protestors is unprecedented/has Never Ever been seen before

Hey guys, I have a very worrying update from @haneenatya. Her mother's condition has considerably worsened, and she needs immediate medical care now. She had a stroke and she is bleeding from her eye, the same eye she had a stroke in and had surgery on a while back. She needs another emergency surgery in Egypt but right now she's still stuck in Ghazzah where they can't possibly operate on her due to the overcapacity of the hospitals nearby.
I'm not sure how much time we have left before the damage is permanent. Please spread this fundraiser around, and get people to donate:

I HEARD FROM FERAS.
Thank the gods I heard from Feras. After they bombed Rafah, I was terrified I’d never see another message from him.
It is Eid now and it would mean a lot to him and his family to have clean water and food. It does any time someone helps.
Anyway, we’re less than a week away from getting them out of Gaza and we’re only a little higher than $1400 out of $12,000.. I’ll make another post with the GoFundMe link. But right now they need immediate help. Below is his PayPal. Even a couple of dollars would mean the world. I just want them to have a little joy during this holiday. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸

Earlier today Columbia issued shelter in place orders and reportedly told parents to get their kids from campus. ~2 hours ago NYPD moved to retake Hind Hall. CBS livestreamed the event in full, complete with live commentary (like watching a sports game), including reporting that police went in with guns drawn... But later praising their lack of violence, wearing only helmets and not riot gear, and not using chemical weapons. They were praised for being specific in their arrests and telling students to stay inside dorms, despite constant yelling "Shame on you."
WKCR, Columbia's student radio, also had live coverage with 3+ reporters on the ground. They reported smelling the use of teargas inside of the building, as well as at least one student unconscious in front of Hind Hall. They reported everyone, including non protestors, getting swept in arrests.
I'm sharing this because I recommend all of you look for archived recording of student coverage and be aware that whitewashing of this event happened in real time.

"Most of Sudan is only one step away from a full blown famine. In a lot of areas the only thing stopping people starving is the presence of community kitchens. This is why we setup 3 kitchens in Khartoum State and are in the process of setting up a 4th. But there has been a massive drop off in donations after Ramadan. Please help with what you can.

Ardently co-signed.
(I've been struggling for years to find a way to convey what scansion is about to people who don't have the same sort of rhythmic processing I do. It's hard to put it in words when it's something I primarliy hear and feel.)
Hot take: talking about English poetic meters in terms of syllable count is a great way to confuse people about how meter works. The vital thing to understand is the musical rhythm of the meter. That’s the material the poet is working with when writing—they’re not doing calculations in their head about how many syllables belong to the line they’ve just written.

Letter of solidarity from #BZU and the Palestinian universities to the #NSJP the Palestine solidarity movement at the #US universities.
Text ID:
Letter from Palestinian Universities to students and faculty in Gaza Solidarity Encampments in US academic institutions
In a moment of great darkness, your protests erupt and give hope for humanity that justice is not an abstract concept but a continuous struggle that connects us all. Your values are emancipating the university from structural racism and complicity with power and colonialism.
The situation in Palestine has reached increased genocidal levels, marked by the mass targeting of Palestinian life by killing and displacement, the destroying of social, cultural, and all educational institutions; and the aim to reduce Palestinians to bare life with no political and collective future. You are leaders in the call for justice with your bodies on your university campuses and in the streets, speaking truth and justice loud and clear. You stand for the courage that is needed to take action strongly for justice and freedom and determinedly against systems of genocide and racism. We know the risks you are taking in face of the repressive measures that are taken against university spaces built on challenging the powers benefitting from silence. At a time when the voices of the oppressed are intentionally silenced, your solidarity serves as a beacon of hope. Your actions are a resounding message that injustice and oppression will not be tolerated. We draw inspiration from the courage of those who refuse and resist the continuing injustices of settler colonialism and military occupation. We welcome you at our universities in a liberated Palestine.
Together, Presidents of Palestinian Universities

Vetted fundraiser masterpost-masterpost.
This is a collection of links to various posts concerning fundraisers I've vetted and instructions on how to submit fundraisers to me. These are primarily ones for Ghazzan families although some fundraisers for Sudanese families are also listed (I'm more familiar with my own country's politics and dialect and am more capable of vetting fundraisers for Palestinians as a result). Each post will have a time stamp indicating the latest date of update. And fundraisers will have colour-coded disclaimers according to the particularities of their case.
I know that people do not like clicking on links or navigating between posts, but please actually look through these posts and choose a fundraiser to donate to. Please.
Instructions on how to submit a fundraiser. (for those not Ghazzan) تعليمات لتقديم طلب توثيق و نشر حملات التبرعات الخاصة بالغزاويين و عائلاتهم (للغزاويين فقط) سأنشر البوست قريبا
List of fundraisers for direct contacts from Ghazzah.
Vetted family evacuation fundraisers list 1.
Vetted family evacuation fundraisers list 2.

Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND) will host trial sessions for Israeli arms technology used to kill Palestinians and maintain apartheid and occupation during a three-week “sandbox” event in Alberta next month.
From May 27 to June 21, DND is giving a select group of military suppliers the chance to test products that are designed to counter aerial drones, with direct assistance from Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) staff and experts. Among those selected is a company called “Twenty20 Insight Inc.,” which is testing the “Smash Hopper counter-drone weapon station.”
The “Smash Hopper” is a remote control weapon system developed and manufactured by Israeli arms company “Smart Shooter,” whose technology is deployed by the Israeli military in fortifications that are used to suppress Palestinian dissent in the occupied West Bank, as well as in military hardware currently being used in Israel’s assault on Gaza.
As reported by AP News in November 2022, Smart Shooter developed remote control turrets deployed by Israel that fire tear gas, stun grenades and sponge-tipped bullets at Palestinian protesters in the occupied West Bank.
Omar Shakir, the Israel and Palestine Director at Human Rights Watch, told AP: “This system will only [...] further grave Israeli human rights abuse and further the Israeli army’s abuses and the Israeli government’s crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution against millions of Palestinians.” [...]

I know this post is from a moment ago, but if you have more commentary on this, I would LOVE to hear anything and everything.
I cannot express how different salieri is between the French version, 2013 jp and 2019 takarazuka, I’ve been analyzing the lyrics for reasons and it’s just so different
Perhaps with the visuals and acting scenes it all melds together to be similar to each other but the lyrics really paint him so differently
