F&F Fan Mix Masterlist!
With the news of 8tracks shutting down after 2019, I’ve now transferred all of the F&F fanmixes I’ve created over the years over to Spotify.
Fortunately, the majority of the songs in my mixes are already on Spotify, but there a couple songs that I had to include the original version instead of the cover I had chosen earlier since it was honestly easier.

SF/F Chapters Release Date & Characters Announcement!
I told you guys I would be posting a little announcement on future SF/F chapters. Here it is...and MORE!
So I know we all want SF/F out, me especially because I've had these characters and storylines in my head for years now!
Chapter Release Dates!
I thought with Oct-Dec being very important months for us (holidays, Maddie, Savannah & I’s birthdays), I thought why not post 1-2 SF/F chapters at the end of each month? This way I have about a month to complete two chapters (unless I want to go all NaNoWriMo and write everything this month).
So October we got: Chapter 3: "Clarissa Explains It All"
November will be: Chapter 4: "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and Chapter 5!
And lastly, December: Chapter 6 & Chapter 7, the conclusion* of School Friends...or Foes!
SF/F Songs / Mixes!!
But that’s not all! As you know, I’m always finding songs that are perfect for F&F & have made numerous fanmixes for our little fandom. I actually have like 3 fanmixes in the works or mostly finished in relation to SF/F because it helped me plot everything out. (A lot of the songs actually don’t work anymore since the fic’s changed over the years...so I totally have to re-work everything, so tbd on those).
In the meantime, I thought it’d be fun to post songs as I post each chapter! They of course would be in relation to the chapter/moment in SF/F.

Character Reveals!!!
I wanted to wait until the chapter they’re introduced was posted, but I honestly can’t help myself.
Everyone...meet Celestine Covington & Madeleine Montgomery
Where one goes, the other is sure to follow, not to mention, they’re a force to be reckoned with. If you’re on their good side - you’re treated like royalty. But if you’re on their bad? Well, that’s an outcome, you don’t really want to see. They rule Billard and they know it.
Some Facts: Celestine’s in Grade 11, while Madeleine’s in Grade 12
Billard Dorm: Celestine - Winthrop Hall, Grade 11 Building (Room 305)
Madeleine - Prescott Hall, Grade 12 Building (Room 208)
(although honestly, they sneak each other back and forth into each of their rooms...)
And yes, this is how I picked Cel’s name. (I couldn’t decide between Arabella & Celestine for the longest time! But, girlfriends with alliterative names stay together, sooo... that and I felt her name would be too similar with Arianna’s.)

Chapter 4 Sneak Peek!
I found this little tidbit I had written forever ago for ch4...so here you go:
Being around Clarissa made Arianna feel special; like the two of them were the only inhabitants in the world. She had only known her roommate for less than 24 hours, but she already felt that she could tell this girl everything and anything.
As the pair entered their dorm building, Clarissa nudged Arianna's shoulder and yelled, "Last one to our room has to do the other's laundry for a week!" And with that annoucement, the fiery redhead was off, running up the stairs.
"No fair! You got a head start!" Arianna responded. Even though she was in no way a runner, Arianna had found herself running up those three flights of stairs and down the hall like her life depended on it. Granted, her washing was on the line.
Was this what it felt to be drunk? Granted Arianna wasn't even allowed to venture to Type AB until she was at least 18.
Phew, okay that was a lot of information. Got all of that?

*originally SF/F was supposed to be this short novella sized at most fic. Just a short 4-5 chapter fic to post while we were in between F&F2 chapters. But then as time went on, I created this little world and story for Arianna, Clarissa and co. to where I could keep writing on & on about Billard. So, throughout Oct-Dec, I’ll post the mentioned chapters, so all the important plot points of SF/F will finally be revealed. But if I ever feel like writing more for SF/F, I’ll post chapters in between 5 & 6 for example. Sorry, if this gets a little convoluted eventually, I just feel like SF/F would go on & on otherwise?

First and foremost, I wanted to wish Maddie a very happy birthday!
This year, I was wrapping my brain around trying to figure out what to create/post for your birthday. I figured the most important thing I could do is to just get this series out into the world so you can love this world as much as I do!
I hope you love this little tiny chapter and I should have more in the next coming days as well!

F&F 10th Anniversary + New Mix!
So the 10th anniversary of F&F has come and gone and I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that it’s been 10 years!
I vaguely remember getting the initial thought to make a fic about mermaids & vampires. I think I had watched H2O & Twilight: New Moon back to back and a little light bulb went off in my head. I knew I could never tackle something like this alone (that & I wanted some accountability to actually see this through, since I had abandoned the other fics I’d written), so I reached out to Maddie to see if she’d want to co-write this with me. She was totally on board and so F&F was born! And the rest is history!
I said this on Friday, but I just want to say thanks to everyone that’s read this little fic of ours and been with us since the very beginning. It’s almost like we can count this as our 10+ years of friendship, too!
These characters are everything to me (even our antagonists). And know that while there may not be much F&F content these days, it’s a known theory that if you’ve been friends with someone for at least 7 years, they’ll be in your life forever. So AKA: this franchise will never die and I’ll be friends with you all forever! :D

2) Guiltless - Dodie (Lily)
(My immediate thought when I heard this song was that it kinda depicts Lily’s relationship with Rose and all that she’s sacrificed for her younger sister. Does Rose appreciate it or even aware of it? But I think it could be about various family relationships in F&F. Like Arianna/Alena and James, Ben and Isaac?)
3) My Mistake - Gabrielle Aplin (Rose)
(I think this song beautifully captures Rose’s personality, very F&F1 vibes. I think in recent years we’ve given her a more self absorbed persona (which is hilarious and I love it), but she’s still the same girl that went through a tragic experience at a very young age, and who was ultimately betrayed by her mother.)
4) My Best Habit - The Maine (Ben)
(Same with Roses’, this is just such a Ben song!)
5) Not What I Meant - Dodie Feat. Lewis Watson (James/Minerva)
(When I first heard this song, I thought it’d fit James & Arianna, how they’re both dealing with the arranged marriage and everything. But after listening to it loads more, it perfectly fits James and Minerva’s. They’re both working so hard to achieve this one ultimate goal and are terrified of the potential failure. And in the end will I feel proud? That I grit my teeth and follow the down crowd. Will I have grown a little empire, or made a fucking mess?)
6) Bright - Echosmith (Lewis/Laurel)
(This song is actually one of the first songs that I knew I had to feature on a fanmix, when I started making them. I just didn’t have what a mix to put it on until now. Laurel and Lewis are so cute, and we need to feature them more!)
7) Over My Head (Cable Car) - The Fray (Ben/Rose)
(Just a good ol’ B/R/J love triangle song! That & this song is a classic)
8) Latch (Cover) - Natalie Taylor (Arianna/Lily)
(I originally was going to put “All I Want Is To Be Your Girl” by: Holly Miranda. But this cover of “Latch” is just sooo pretty and I think tells the story of how Arianna & Lily feel for each other. That and I actually first listened to this cover when I was getting the idea for Arianna & Lily to kiss in the Christmas special.)
9) Heathens - Twenty One Pilots (Everyone)
(Like with ‘The World We Made’, this would of been a great fanvid for the group. That and I have to dedicate this song to Rose, since as we learned in the Christmas special...they’re her favorite band :’))
10) We Must Be Killers - Mikky Ekko (Everyone)
(Fanvid feels for this one too. But fun fact: I originally was going to have this on the Viole(n)t mix, because I think it also fits the adults, too. But the lyric: “children of the wild ones”, made me think otherwise and thought it fit better for the main gang.)

December ‘16 Update: ‘School Friends’, Chapter 9 & More!
Hey guys, update time!
We’re working hard on both the Arianna prequel: School Friends…or Foes and Friends & Foes’ Chapter 9!
We recently came up with some amazing story-lines for your favorite characters and then some (there are so many characters in this fic, that even I can’t keep track sometimes…Maddie is the queen at remembering all the Vampire Council families, everyone’s relatives, etc.).
What I’ve been finding so interesting in the brain-storming chats Maddie & I have is that we’re giving each character so much depth and development. This can even be said for the adults! I don’t want to spoil anything of course, but given the love we have for these characters…I’m sure we’ll write more prequels/flashback chapters in the future! (Honestly, I’m dying to write a giant Constance fic!)
What you can expect soon: School Friends…or Foes, the Arianna prequel I’ve been developing for quite some time now. It primarily is set during Arianna’s first year at Billard, the all girl private school she attended prior to transferring schools in F&F.
14 year-old Arianna isn’t the outspoken, confident vampire we’re introduced to in the end of F&F1 - she’s still trying to figure things out. It helps that she has her friends, Ben, Constance, and even James a call away if she needs anything. There’s also her roommate, Clarissa Byrd she can confide in. But, she might just be the beginning of Arianna’s problems.
School Friends…or Foes comes out in early January (I would love it to be released right after the Shadowhunters’ season 2 premiere on Jan 2nd..but I don’t want to give you guys an exact date in case that doesn’t happen).
I am dying for you to meet Clarissa. You know how much I love Arianna? Well, there’s a special place in my heart for this fiery redhead (& not because Kat McNamara is my future wife). I think she’s going to be a character where you’re on the fence if you like her or not. I don’t wanna give anything away…but just..I LOVE HER SO MUCH! Oh and she refuses to go by the nickname Clary! (Her face claim was originally going to be Rowan Blanchard prior to Kat and the name just stuck)
Chapter 9 News! From what I remember in the past, we have most of it planned out? But with recent ideas we’ve come up with, we’re probably going to have to tweak things here and there. I’ll let Maddie explain more about this in the near future.
I wanted to make a fanvid promo for School Friends…or Foes, but honestly, I don’t think my laptop can handle it. 2017, hopefully I get a new one.
That’s it update-wise. We’ll try to keep this tumblr updated more. Anything you’d want to see on here? Maddie, I know you have a couple mood boards to do? (Sofia & Laurel’s, right?)
Lastly, I’m heading to TGIFemslash in April! Read all about that in this post. I swear, if I get one person that even briefly mentions F&F/Arily to me there, like…that would just make my life! (If I was savvy, I would make a “Some Mermaids Marry Vampires” shirt or put Lewis’ entire rant on a shirt or something)
