I kind of love 15's sonic screwdriver.

Like it's really different, and I do hope we at some point go back to the standard style of sonic, I do like it. I think the part that really sealed the deal for me with liking it was the Rwandan proverb inscribed in Gallifreyan text. Like what an awesome way to incorporate an actor's culture into their doctor. Plus we're getting Ncuti in a kilt which is great. Anyway the sonic really feels like a modern update of what it should be, the sonic has never really been a screwdriver, it's been a multi-tool. A solve all your problems plot device, well what is the solve all your problem's multi-tool of the modern day, Smart phones. and in a weird way it reminds me a lot of an old flip phone. It very much feels like a phone that would have came out in like 2005 when the market was really the wild west. So I see this sonic as like an anachronistic interpretation of how the Doctor would see a smart phone. It's kinda brilliant.

I just love that RTD made fun of Moffat never being able to kill off a companion.

As much as I think Moffat era Doctor Who is the show's peak, his companion departures always seemed cheap.

Wild Blue Yonder is a series of amazing character moments, high paced terror, and beautiful gut wrenching interactions that could only be done with these two characters, broken up by some truly terrible special effects.

And isn't that what Doctor Who is all about.

All in all I loved it.
