Good Omens is twice as good as it needs to be. Genuinely.
If it were written by a good, experienced TV writer who could move a story along but didn’t have the nuance and world building skill of Neil Gaiman. If the leads were played by a couple of good actors with perfectly decent chemistry, but not the incredible character depth, decades of film and theatre experience, and on-screen electricity of Michael Sheen and David Tennant. If it were art directed, designed, scored and costumed by competent professionals who were good at what they do but not extraordinarily dedicated to perfection. If all of that were true, it would be a good show, fun to watch and entertaining.
But it wouldn’t have broken my heart into a thousand pieces. It wouldn’t have millions of fans wondering how they’re going to wait literally years for the conclusion. It wouldn’t have spawned tens of thousands of works of fan fiction and art. It wouldn’t occupy the thoughts and hearts of so many people daily months and months after being released.
It’s such a good example of why good enough is fine sometimes but great is something truly to be strived for, appreciated, and treasured.

How do I possibly explain this without it being deranged. Um well. Georgia Tennant has been posting for months about how Michael Sheen and his gf are hanging out a lot with the Tennants and how they are in fact neighbors in London. She’s also been calling Michael Sheen’s gf “wife” and calling Michael Sheen David Tennant’s “bf/husband.”
And then now Michael Sheen released his show and in it Georgia Tennant and her fictional husband are hooking up with their friends/neighbors and it starts with Georgia Tennant watching her fictional husband make out with the other guy

Aziraphale is literally such a good character. The more I think about him the more I go completely feral. He was specifically created as a warrior to fight and protect. He’s soft and camp and likes feather boas. He’s spent 6000 years acting like he’s the most kind and polite perfect little angel but he’ll fucking destroy you with a single glare. He’s an absolute bitch. His face lights up with the smile of a thousand suns. He’ll kill someone for crêpes with his boyfriend. He lies to God. He needs the biggest hug in the whole world. His standards will NEVER be met. He has travel sweets. He painted his bookshop the colour of his soulmate’s eyes. He’s one bad day away from having a mental breakdown so intense it would explode half the planet. He loves humans so much but if any of them so much as speak to him he’ll require three business days to recuperate. He is THE Southern Pansy. He declared war on Hell because they interrupted the Jane Austen ball he meticulously planned just to dance with his boyfriend. He is so so traumatised and hasn’t experienced a straightforward emotion in his life. He WOULD bite people if he was given the opportunity. He is the most annoying bastard you’ve ever met (affectionate). He can’t speak French.

What pains me most about the final 15 is the fact that they were both right
Crowley should have refused to go back to heaven, he should have chosen not to go through that trauma again, he doesn't think it's possible to fix things, so it doesn't make sense for him to go. And then there is the fact that it is almost 100% certain that no angel (except Aziraphale) wants him there. It would be him against everyone. It would be having a sign warning all the bees that you're in. Choosing to stay on Earth is the healthiest option for him
Aziraphale had to go, Aziraphale has always sought to do what is right, what is good. And trying to fix the situation is the good thing, besides, Aziraphale does believe it is possible to make a difference. He must go. If he doesn't go, he would possibly spend his whole life regretting it. Nina mentions it, he is the one who still believes in magic, that people are good. That you can change something. Aziraphale had to go
They were both right, and no matter how many spins I put on it, them splitting up was the only logical outcome. And that's something I hate. Very much
There's nothing wrong with what happened, and it's the most painful thing
I want to be able to find something that tells me that there was another option, but any other option would not be as correct as this one
Perhaps they could have better communicated what was going on, but that would have simply made the situation slightly less painful. It wouldn't have changed the end result. They were going to separate for sure
