HOW TO ACHIEVE A SLIMMER FACE.
+ MY GO TO JAW EXERCISE
Tumblr media
YOU CANNOT OUT-TRAIN A BAD DIET.
You cannot out-train a bad diet. If your diet is bad, don't expect to see major results when working out. Having a good diet is 90% of weight loss and physical training is 10%.
SUGAR.
When you consume excess sugar, it can lead to water retention and inflammation, which may contribute to bloating in the face and body. By cutting down on sugary foods and beverages, you may notice a decrease in bloating and puffiness over time. Replacing sugary foods with whole, nutrient-dense options like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains can help improve overall health and reduce puffiness.
HOW TO GET A SLIMMER FACE:
I use this to tighten my jawline because it can look a bit puffier than I would like it to be. I have tested this before for a week and It definitely did make some changes so I will be sticking with this video. You have to be consistent to keep the results, I recommend doing it every day until you look at the results, then slowly reducing the number of days to a number that is good enough for you to maintain that result.
youtube
FACE MASSAGES & GUASHA
Guasha involves scraping a flat jade or rose quartz tool along the skin in upward strokes. This technique can help:
Improve Circulation: This can bring more blood flow to the face, which may help with a healthy glow.
Reduce Puffiness: By stimulating lymphatic drainage, it can help reduce fluid retention and puffiness.
Jawline Definition: Regular use along the jawline can promote a more defined look over time.
Face massages will also have the same effect.

HOW I GOT A GRADE 9 IN MY RS MOCK.
Tumblr media
Past Papers Time Youtube Teachers/school What worked for me
PAST PAPERS
Finding past papers online is pretty easy. Do a bunch of them from your specifications and keep going through the marking scheme to make sure what you are writing is exactly what you will get the mark for. Memorising writing structures is important for trying to get the most marks as possible.
for example:
2 marker: definition and example 4 marker: 2 paragraphs - point and explanation in each one 5 marker: 2 points and 2 explanations with extra information (holy texts, quotes, parables, etc) 8 marker: 2 main points, each with a thorough example and explanation (PEEL, introduction -> point 1 -> point 2) 15 marker: Explain, Examine, Evaluate (Introduction, the main point - PEEL, conclusion - Link back to the question and a brief referral of the main point)
SETTING TIME ASIDE
Really focusing my time on studying, taking notes and listening to online teachers. Turning off or putting my phone away from me to minus any distractions. Setting the intention of studying for a certain amount of time and going for it. Making sure my space is ready for me to do that by clearing it out and making sure there is nothing that would distract me (phone, outside sounds, etc)
FINDING YOUTUBE TEACHERS AND REVISION HELP
Searching up YouTube teachers who make videos for your specifications and subject. Take notes from their videos or find flashcards/making your own for that video to test your knowledge. Find ones that you understand the way that they teach, some specifications are harder to find than others for certain subjects online but it isn't impossible. Really try hard to search through the internet (Off of YouTube if you honestly can't find anything) and try to find it on Google or from random pieces of revision guides from other schools
UTILISE THE SCHOOLS RESOURCES AND YOUR EXERCISE BOOKS
Ask your teachers for some revision guides, my school gave us some to revise at home with everything we needed in it. Use the school homework sites that have homework based on your tests, even if homework on it isn't set on that you can try to do sections that relate to it (On things like Seneca you can select what you want to learn alongside doing homework). Take your exercise books home and revise with them, take photos and notes from your book to keep at home.
WHAT I DID:
annoyed the hell out of my mum by repeating back everything I remember from that subject to her (she obv wasn't listening) but telling someone like you are teaching them or having a conversation about it helps the memory
Writing it from memory over and over again, checking new information or rewriting parts to make it better and possibly correcting errors
Using flashcards online, although I don't really like them too much
Sharing revision stuff with my friends and helping each other out

here's the reason you procrastinate
based on Fuschia Sirois' research
everyone procrastinate at some point. research suggests that almost 1 in 4 people procrastinate on a fairly regular basis, and the rates are even higher among college and university students ( 50% of them procrastinate regularly and about 85-90% do so occasionally ).
because procrastination is so common we tend not to put too much thought into it, in the end what is the problem? it's just delay.
well, it's not. actually procrastination is harmful delay ( so defined by the researchers ); it is a form of delay which is:
voluntary
unnecessary
involves important tasks which you intended to do
people often underestimate the consequences of procrastination and how debilitating and harmful it can be. if you delay dealing with ( for example ) your academic works, of course you can expect some negative results in that area, but what about the collateral consequences of it?
research has shown that people who have problems with procrastination have low physical and mental health and practice less healthy behaviors. they deal with depression, stress and anxiety.
just think about the enormous amount of stress that procrastination brings: first of all, constantly chasing deadlines. deadlines can nag anyone, even those who don't struggle with delaying, but then it ends, the job is turned in, and everything goes back to normal. for procastinators this is not the case, they will keep putting off important things and will constantly end up with an imminent deadline.
so, if it's so harmful for your healt, why do people do it? some people think it's about laziness or poor time managment, but actually:
laziness isn't procrastination. if you're lazy you don't have the energy to do anything, instead procrastinators are always busy with a thousand non-essential tasks to do, in fact they avoid doing one specific task, not every task ( for example if i need to study, but i'm procrastinating it, i end up cleaning my room )
poor time managment it's actually a symptom of procrastination, not a cause.
from a psychological perspective the origins of procrastination are rooted in negative emotions and the urge to cope with them through avoidance. so actually procrastination is about poor mood managment, not poor time managment.
procrastination starts when we have a task that's unpleasant, but we have to do it. and we use procrastination then as a way to get relief from those negative emotions associated with the task, so basically it's not even about avoiding the task, but it's about avoid the negative emotions that we associate with the task.
we need to avoid stress and aversive feeling that come with the task, especially when we don't feel like we can manage those negative emotions at the moment. so we take the task, we put it aside, and it's instant relief. it's fast, it's easy and it works for a little while, then that sense of shame, guilt and self-blame starts to kick in.
so why do we keep procrastinating? for that sense of relief, because that made us feel rewarded and we tend to repeat behaviors that rewarded us. this can easily lead to a cycle of procrastination.
however, the negative thoughts that we have ( "why didn't i start earlier?", "i'm letting myself down" etc. ) don't actually make us take action. they just add layers of layers on pre-existing negativity.
so how do you get out of the procastination cycle?
go back to valuing your task, if it's so important that you do it, remind yourself why you are doing it
remember that we tend to overestimate the discomfort that a given challenge will bring us. probably your task isn't even that time-consuming, unpleasant and frustrating
be compassionate and and forgive yourself, it's an effective strategy to reduce the negative emotions associated with the task. you are not the first nor the last person to procrastinate, we are all human and we all make mistakes. research has shown that doing so reduces the risk of procastination.
hope you enjoyed this little explanation, here's my sources: https://youtu.be/xTEPNxx0MsA

how to stay motivated long-term
trust, me i know that long-term motivation and consistency is hard. long-term motivation might be difficult to maintain, but there are effective techniques to help you stay focused and determined. whether you're seeking personal ambitions, academic achievements, or professional success, here are some strategies to help encourage motivation:
understand the reason behind your goal ☆ does your goal contribute to personal growth or meaningful relationships? ☆ how does your goal impact others? ☆ is your goal meaningful to you? if your goal lacks meaning, it may be hard to maintain motivation.
positive and negative motivation motivation can come from different places ☆ positive motivation: the desire to experience pleasure ☆ negative motivation: the desire to avoid something (an outcome) both types of motivation have their place, so learn to recognise what type fits in where. (post on this coming soon)
set up systems use your initial motivation to set up structures: ☆ create routines, systems and habits that help you towards your goal even when your motivation fluctuates ☆ when your emotions wane, rely on these systems and disciplines to maintain momentum
break down goals ☆ tackle one goal at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed ☆ set achievable milestones and celebrate each step forward ☆ keep the momentum going by focusing on manageable tasks
validate good work ☆ give yourself a little reward, or thank yourself, for completing hard tasks ☆ this reinforces motivation and encourages effort
remember--motivation isn't in a constant state, it ebbs and flows. these small tips will help to stay motivated. i'm going to provide more information in upcoming posts, and i will link them here once they are published.
luck on your journey ❤️

the magic of figuring out your 'why'
why should you find your why?
what gets you out of bed? why do you study? what is really pushing you to push yourself? finding your purpose in life can help you learn more about yourself and more about where you want to go in life. i don't know about you, but getting all 'a' grades would not be worth it if i only got the grades for the sake of it. i get 'a' grades so that i set myself up well for my future and give myself the best chances.
your purpose shapes your legacy and leaves a lasting impact on the world. it defines you and what you stand for.
understanding your purpose promotes healthiness and positive well-being. people with purpose also tend to practice healthier habits such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition and less sedentary behaviours.
how do you find your why?
identify who you want to be (your goals). reflect on the things that matter to you. a prompt to uncover this is to imagine what you would do with your life if you had nothing stopping you. alternitavely, you can visualise what you would change about the world/how you would contribute to the world without any restrictions.
listen to feedback. pay attention to what others say about your strengths, talents, and impact. sometimes external perspectives reveal aspects of your purpose. be careful not to let yourself be influenced into a purpose that will not truly fulfil you.
what do you do once you've figured out your why?
remember that your why is not ridgid! as you grow and change, your purpose will grow and change with you.
once you understand your why, it is important to begin moving forward,, closer towards your higher self and purpose. to do this, set realistic goals that align with your purpose. address your fears and work to overcome them, since fears can and will hold you back.
something that i will always preach to achieve any goals is building a community. whether it's online (like this blog), you and one friend or a whole organised group, surrounding yourself with a positive culture that reinforces where you want to be will motivate you and assist you in succeeding.
❤️
i hope this post helps anyone who may feel lost. lots of love! joanne.

elica i need ur advice. so i recently got out of a terrible relationship, i’m trying to start my self love journey and date myself. but there’s always been this guy that i assume lives across me. i always see him skateboarding outside my house every summer. the last time i saw him was once during christmas holiday, and two days ago. i feel like he might be visiting or in college. i never talk to him and i’m beating myself up due to the fact that i’m too nervous too, so i feed myself thoughts that he won’t like me or that i’m not good enough to talk to him but i find it hard to focus on myself with him on my mind. i feel like it’s messing up my journey a bit
Hey!
Because I don’t know the guy I don’t know his characteristics or anything so I’m hoping your sense of judgement of his character is good 😭. You can still be on your self love journey whilst getting to know new people. There’s nothing wrong that. But since you are fresh out of a previous relationship, I suggest taking things slow to heal. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go talk to the guy though, I think you should just go for it and get it out of the way if it weighs your mind so much. Don’t beat yourself up for being a bit nervous, it’s okay to feel that way but you shouldn’t put words in people’s mouths. How do you know he doesn’t like you if you haven’t talked to him? If it goes successfully then like I said you should take everything as slow as you need it to be! He should understand this and respect you🤍
Also keep in mind that you should try to keep space for yourself, don’t get too occupied with other people because loving yourself should always be a priority. This can also apply to giving yourself too much space, allow yourself to have fun. Find that balance within yourself and you should be fine xx

MY SHOULDER AND BACK ROUTINE FOR A 90 DEGREE SHOULDER LOOK.
HOW TO CORRECT YOUR POSTURE
Tumblr media
POSTURE.
Posture is important for many health related reasons. But having good posture also helps you look better aesthetically. Posture is a form of body language and is one of the first impressions you can give to people. It can signal to others that you are open, engaged, and in control of the situation. This can enhance your social interactions and professional relationships. Having better posture also shows off an aura of confidence as you are standing up straight and not slouched over which can send a closed off message.
HOW TO IMPROVE IT:
Here is my updated routine that I follow that allows you to have upright posture and achieve the 90 degree shoulder look.
These are my top 3 videos that I have done for sometime and have liked the results they give. I usually only do the one by oppserve regulary, but if I am feeling good I will pick another by any of the ones I have listed. The one by XHIT is more of a workout video than a stretch so I would include that in my workout routine, the rest I would do them after I finished a workout. To start seeing results I reccomened doing atleast 1 or 2 workout videos for 7 days. You can do one in the morning and another in the evening if you feel like it but once a day is still fine. You do have to keep on doing them to maintain the look or it will go back to what it was before. I don't do it everyday but 4/7 days a week just because it fits my schedule and is the amount of times I work out anyways.

I wanted to get your opinion about something...so there's this handsome, tall guy I'm talking to. he is in class with me and I have known him for 2 years. I'm not in love with him but let's just say I like him. And there were problems. Long story short, he stole my pen and lied to me by saying it was his, that I was exaggerating and that I was complaining for nothing. except that I didn't care about the pen, what irritated me was that it was him who did this to me, that he stole something from me and that he didn't care at all.
the next day, we were going on a school trip to Paris and guess what? he ignored me. During the 3 days of travel, he acted as if I did not exist. the worst part is that he flirted with a friend. she was super uncomfortable and told me “if he ever asks me to go out, I'll tell him no. »
I don’t know what to do…
🩶🩶🩶
Hey boo,
I honestly think that he’s not worth the headache. If the friend said she was uncomfortable by his flirting than I think that also says a lot. His character proves he does not care about how you feel even if it was in a teasing way. Him ignoring you is also a big sign that he simply does not value you. Handsome or not, you shouldn’t stress about someone who isn’t showing clear signs of wanting to be around you and respecting you.
Sorry if it that sounded a bit harsh but it’s coming from a good place i promise you. You can find better, there a plenty of people in this world that are capable of giving you the respect you deserve 🤍

Go where you are treated best. Go where you are perceived how you want to be seen. Leverage your options. Be selective and have high standards for yourself (including, but not limited to, your own behavior, habits, and personal conduct). Always be asking yourself, “how does this benefit me? What do I get out of this? How do I get what I want from this situation?”

maya hawke: we cannot want our way out of the dark
The first step of progressing out of an unwanted place is to decide that you no longer want to be in that position. Yes sometimes things can work in your favour and times can change in ways that can help you. But you cannot stay animate and expect change. Even if it means taking the smallest steps, walking at your own pace and progressing bit by bit.
