Theme Songs - Elyse

I’ve chosen 5 songs each for my 6 main ocs that I write with, just for funsies. I don’t own the songs, I also don’t own the picture used - it was made with a creator on Picrew.

1. Once Upon A December - Christy Altomare (Broadway Version)

I chose the broadway version because it sounds nicer, but Elyse has a few parallels to the song and Anastasia. She doesn’t know her birth family, and even when she does eventually find out she remembers that she was there when they were murdered and had watched it happen. The sort of mystic feel to the song also fits her.

2. Miss Misery - Elliott Smith

Elyse has a harrowing history of drug and alcohol abuse, to cope with PTSD and depression. She tends to replace one bad coping mechanism with another, and struggles to heal even with the help of others. She doesn’t know how to deal with her trauma in healthy ways and often tries to distance herself as much as possible.

3. Ophelia - Jack in Water

Elyse is the type of person to be quite strongwilled when she wants to be, despite her sad and tired exterior. This song also suits her music wise, as it's soft and sad with strong vocals - much like her.

4. Even If It’s A Lie - Matt Maltese

As above, this song is also sad for good reason. When Elyse loves, she struggles. She's emotionally distant and often doesn't know how to deal with people who love her. Particularly Sid, and she often tries to push them away, whilst mourning for them when they do leave.

5. Greek Tragedy - The Wombats

Often she and Sid are shown to be close, but there are times where their friendship/relationship is destined to be doomed. They are the type of people to follow each other everywhere, even into death. And this is proven when Elyse has to stand against the veil on her own, ready to give herself up, when Sid stands beside her and promises to be with her forever.

Theme Songs - Caspian

1. Party Pill - Cub Sport

A big part of Caspian’s character is how easy it is for him to fall in love. He goes for most of his life not really knowing what it’s like to be in love because he believes he is in love, until he meets his best friend. When they’re both 17, they explore themselves and they share a kiss. Caspian believes he is in love, because it’s the first time he’s kissed a boy and it’s the moment he realises he might not be straight.

2. I See Fire - Ed Sheeran

I See Fire fits Cas because of his power, and the destruction he indirectly causes with it. Upon unlocking his power, and how unstable it is due to being sealed away for years as well as how tied it is to his emotions, he becomes a destructive, unstoppable person. Eventually, however, the friends he made and unknowingly brought together with his leadership bring him back and he seeks to fix the harm he’s caused.

Fast Talk - Houses

Cas is young, he’s 19, and yet like most of his generation he was forced to grow up quickly. Despite his friendly and cheerful exterior, he does have a very nihilistic view of the world at times and he’s scared of growing older. Him and his friends are fucked up at the best of times, but they’re all he has and he loves them dearly.

Crush - Tessa Violet

Using a more upbeat song fits Caspian’s cheerful and friendly personality. He’s the type to develop ’crushes’ on people, finding them physically and emotionally attractive without wanting to date them. A good example of this is when he first meets Elyse, finding her beautiful and often getting shy whenever she talked to him. He eventually becomes more comfortable around her though.

5. Wild Heart - Bleachers

This song has everything to do with his coming out. Cas is free-spirited at times, but he’s very insecure about himself, and that includes his sexuality. He’s brave, however, and feels free after he comes out, feeling like he’s more himself when he discovers his sexuality.
