Crimson Peak motto I did some research on the Latin motto on the mansion's coat of arms which reads as follows: "Ad Montes Oculos Levavi" ("I have lifted up mine eyes unto the hills.") "Mors Vincit Omnia" ("Death conquers all.") The first phrase is the motto of Cumbria, a county in North-West England, where the mansion is. The second one just seems to be a popular Latin phrase, probably a dark turn for the popular phrase "Amor omnia vincit" (from Virgil, apparently) which means "Love conquers all."
