The Secret to Happy Life
The Secret to Happy Life
Here is a list of 15 essentials a person should strive to achieve happiness:
 1. GOOD HEALTH - First and foremost is GOOD HEALTH. So take care of Physical and Mental Health problems. If you do not enjoy good health you cannot be happy. Any ailment, however trivial, will deduct from your happiness and make it harder to be happy. While it’s not always possible to “cure” everything, address your physical and emotional needs as best as possible. Some people allow themselves to have lingering pains, or struggles with depression. Take the steps to address it. It will change your entire experience of the world.
 2. A HEALTHY BANK BALANCE - Money cannot buy happiness is true and every billionaire is not happy. However, poverty is stressful; and if you can pay for the basics comfortably - it will remove a lot of that stress from your life. You don’t have to be wealthy, but some amount of financial comfort will prevent the worries about the basics of everyday life. It need not run into millions but should be enough to provide for creature comforts and something to spare for recreation, like eating out, going to the pictures, travelling or going on holidays on the hills or by the sea. So have a few bucks in the bank. Shortage of money can be demoralizing. Living on credit or borrowing is demeaning and lowers one in one's own eyes.
 3. A HOME OF YOUR OWN - Rented premises can never give you the snug feeling of a nest which is yours for keeps that a home provides; if it has a garden space, all the better. Plant your own trees and flowers, see them grow and blossom, cultivate a sense of kinship with them. "God is not found on mountain tops. He lives in cozy homes and within you."
 4. AN UNDERSTANDING COMPANION - Be it your spouse or a friend. If there are too many misunderstandings, they will rob you of your peace of mind. Don’t settle in who you marry. Marriage is the single biggest decision you make, so be picky and marry the right person for you. Don’t rush in because you think it’s “time” or you feel “pressure.” Marry someone you are excited about, who makes you feel amazing, and who is good to you down to their last breath. Don’t compromise or settle on this one - it makes a large part of the mood of your home every single day…why not make it great! It is better to be single than to bicker all the time. Choose your friends and people around you carefully - they will have an effect on your mind and soul.
 5. LACK OF ENVY - Stop comparing with those who have done better than you in life; risen higher, made more money, or earned more fame. Envy can be very corroding; avoid comparing yourself with others. You will become vain and bitter. Because there will always be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Being happy in your own skin is one of the biggest keys to happiness. A lot of unhappiness comes from people believing that they are “less than” because of images they see or messages they ingest. You can be so much happier going all-in on you.
 6. BE OKAY WITH BAD DAYS - Part of living a happy life, is realizing that you won’t be happy 24/7, and being fine with it. You’ll have times of grief, and times of irritation, and times of stress or anxiety…and that’s fine. Accepting that you’re a human with a range of emotions, and seeing every day as a new day, is part of what makes you happy. Self-acceptance of just being human and not too hard on you is massive. “Life isn't burger king. You can't always have it your way.” “Life is a circle of happiness, sadness, hard times, and good times. If you are going through hard times have faith that good times are on the way. The higher the aim, the more struggles.”
7. DO NOT ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE - to descend on you for gossip and bad mouthing about others. By the time you get rid of them, you will feel exhausted and poisoned by their gossip-mongering. Always remember: "Intelligent people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Small people talk about other people. And fools argue."
 8. CULTIVATE SOME HOBBIES – that can bring you a sense of fulfilment, such as gardening, reading, writing, painting, playing or listening to music. Do more things you like! This sounds silly, but there are people who say they used to love painting, but haven’t done it in 10 years! Why? Life gets so busy that the first things we cut are sometimes hobbies - we don’t see them as “essential” or “important,” but they absolutely are when we’re talking about happiness. Make time for things you truly enjoy - it makes life more enjoyable. Going to clubs or parties to get free drinks or to meet celebrities is temporary fun and waste of time.
 9. SEEK OUT THE GOOD – Your mindset and mood are often influenced by what you feed it. This is true of people you surround yourself with, and even the media you ingest. Limit toxic people. Limit toxic headlines/news media, and seek to spend more time/energy with the good. Choose your friends and people around you carefully - they will have an effect on your mind and soul. “A good life is a collection of happy moments. Be happy for this moment this moment is your life.”
 10. HELP OTHERS - If you want to be happy, there is a lot of joy in helping others. Some of what makes life wonderful is feeling useful, helping another without expecting return, and being reminded of your own good fortune (gratitude)…even if that is driving a friend to a doctor’s appointment, or helping a neighbor carry her groceries. Making the world a better place makes you feel better too.
 11. LIVE IN THE PRESENT - Today is a new day, and some people have pasts that are incredibly hard. Live in the present, not in the past…or you’ll be stuck there and miss the great stuff of today. “Yesterday is a history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift that is why we call it present.” Live each day as it was your last. Tomorrow is not promised." “Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.”
 12. MOVE YOUR BODY - Being able to move your body a bit will keep you happy. There are seniors doing shows where they dance, and young kids running in the yard. You don’t have to be an Olympian to move…just even going for a walk every day, or doing some stretches. Your brain has a way of responding to movement that makes people feel happier. “Life is like riding a bicycle, if you don’t move you fall.”
 13. HAVE NEW EXPERIENCES – Doing something new doesn’t have to be traveling to a distant land - maybe it’s just trying your hand at baking a pie, eating a new type of food you’ve never had, fixing something around the house you never did before, taking a new route for walk, or visiting a small town nearby you’ve never been to. New experiences give us things to look forward to, things to talk about, and bring back some of the curiosity of being a child.
 14. LOVE IN YOUR LIFE - If you have a person who truly loves you in this world, and accepts you for exactly who you are - it will help contribute to your sense of happiness. Even having a pet that loves you can also help this. Love is powerful, and while it isn’t everything, it makes the bad times easier to bear. Being loved, and loving another brings many people great satisfaction and joy.
 15. INTROSPECTION - Every morning and evening, devote 15 minutes to INTROSPECTION. In the morning, 10 minutes should be spent on stilling the mind doing meditation and breathing, and then five in listing things you have to do that day. In the evening or before sleeping, 10 minutes to still the mind again, and five to go over what you had undertaken to do.
Here’re some quotes for you to enjoy!
“Your career, your spouse, and your children are like a three-legged stool of Happiness. The stronger the legs the better is the stability.”
“A good life is a collection of happy moments. Be happy for this moment this moment is your life.”
 “Our attitude defines life:
Life is best for those, who just want to live it.
Life is difficult for those, who want to analyze it.
Life is worst for those, who want to criticize it.”
“One of the greatest blessings in the world is to be able to be happy even when things in life are not going the way we planned.”
“Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect. And be happy for this moment; this moment is your life.”
“Never blame any day in your life. Good days give you happiness, bad days give you experience, and the worst days give you a lesson.”

Melatonin and Aging
“FOREVER YOUNG means positive attitude and love for life. We grow old when we quit playing.”
“Aging is inevitable, but no reason to associate it with pain, disability or mental decline.”
Use of Melatonin -- a non-prescription hormone that body produces naturally is promising to slow aging -- but we're not sure about long term effects.
How Does Melatonin Link to Aging?
The pineal gland that produces melatonin shrinks with age, so melatonin production declines as we age.
In addition to the pineal gland, digestive tract is another source of melatonin production. And melatonin production increases in the digestive tract when calories are restricted, which may explain why dietary restrictions have shown to increase life span.
The mice experiments have shown at least 20% increase in life span with  dietary restrictions.
It's a powerful antioxidant.
It enhances the immune system.
Benefits such as preventing cancer and protecting heart, providing restful sleep will indirectly prolong life.
Of course, there are surer routes to good health and longevity. Here're few other suggestions to control signs of aging and to keep young forever:
Adopt the Life Style associated with Longevity--regular exercise, low fat diet, no smoking, moderate drinking, sleeping seven or eight hours-but not less than six or more than nine, using mental abilities, discipline, altruism, optimism, spiritual faith and above all love of life.
Other common sense tips include: active life-having a reason for living, an active sex life, controlling stress, good marriage and social life, proper use of lungs, proper use of intercostal muscles, and using diaphragm for proper deep Breathing.
Common sense tips based on aging theories: (1) Use antioxidants such as Vitamins E and C, and Selenium (2) Lower polyunsaturated (vegetable oils) fat in diet (3) Diet to slow autoimmune aging (4) Consume Nucleic Acids (DNA, RNA) to repair age-related damage.
Keep Young with Biochemicals that are SAFE and NATURAL such as certain vitamins, and enzymes--many of them are present in natural foods.
“We don't quit playing because we grow old; we grow old because we quit playing."
 “I don't believe in AGE. I believe in ENERGY...93-years old Yoga-teacher."

Why are some very smart people so quiet: Their tell-tale signs!
Smart people not only like being quiet but also being alone.  There are a lot of extremely intelligent people out there, but they simply don’t advertise the fact that they are smart. It comes natural to them, and they try to live their lives freely and without consciously drawing attention to themselves. You can call it modesty or plain old good manners, but these people tend to look and sound quite average, until they surprise you with a gem of wisdom. Here are some of the tell-tale signs that you might be one smart cookie, without appearing so.
Smart people are better at observing than most people. Most of the time, you will find that this kind of people like to sit in a corner and just silently observe everything around them. Although they don’t express themselves, their brains are actually running at high speed, which is one of the reasons why smart people are so quiet.
Smart people  will often refrain from speaking if they are accessing a situation. They will take some time to think about what was said and prepare an adequate response, and they find silence better than pointless small talk.
Smart people don't like to cause trouble. They know that they will be upset by unnecessary dilemmas brought about by dramatic events in life. They have enough of their own affairs, so they don't need to ask for extra trouble. Others can think as they please, and smart people feel that there is no need to be accepted by everyone and get involved in right and wrong.
They do not need to and don’t want to prove their worth. When an individual is  independent and powerful enough, he will be grateful for this little thing and be satisfied with everything he has, because this type of person can support himself without relying on others, and there is no need to prove to anyone.
Although they are very cautious in dealing with people, they can clearly recognize who is their true friend. So smart people will maintain their circle well, and will not easily allow new friends to enter at will, unless someone is as amiable as them. Note that amiable means that they have common ideas and express the same ideas and values.
The abilities of smart people are daunting. They don’t mind being alone, because they have a force that cannot be ignored. They are not afraid to tell the truth, and they won’t make excuses.
Their thoughts and actions are often difficult to understand. Most geniuses are  mavericks, because of the different cognitive dimensions and the limitations of experience horizons, so few people can truly understand and accept them.
Smart people are focused on their goals. Sharing dreams and visions with people who don’t understand themselves can make them feel annoyed. So free communication is not in their world, and people always seem to feel that they seem to be nervous, but in fact they may just focus on their goals.
Smart people  always strive for perfection. This perfectionist mentality is applied to  all aspects of life, from trying to look their best or working on being a great speaker or writer, to spending hours practicing their game. The way you conduct yourself is an excellent indicator of intelligence.
Smart people try to learn all he or she can about topics that are directly related to their life or are interesting to them. Gathering information, learning new things and developing useful skills is a lifelong goal for highly intelligent people, and they will always have a way of keeping themselves busy.
Smart people continually read up on a variety of subjects, follow a variety of blogs and find themselves frequently running to the Internet to look up answers to questions that pop into their head? They perform little experiments to see what happens, even if they’re as simple as mixing up the ingredients in a recipe? Smart people are naturally curious people. They are constantly formulating questions in their minds, and then seeking out the answers.
Smart people are constantly occupied with tons of different projects. They always have a few projects that they are working on such as learning a language, reading about fixing things around the house, taking dancing lessons, working on some new recipes in the kitchen, or compiling a book on something that improves living. While a lot of people like to keep busy, a smart person will fill their free time with activities that help them improve in one way or another. Not all smart people are very productive, but it can  be a good indicator of higher intellect.
Smart people talk to themselves contrary to the assumption that those who talk to themselves have lost their marbles. In fact when your mind is constantly going, you often have problems, dialogue and ideas you are working through. The more intense that process is, the more likely you are to speak to yourself.  Other odd signs of a genius are social anxiety, chronic worrier, night owl, daydreaming, self-critical.
Smart people don’t blow their own horn or try to hijack the conversation or start long  monologues. They will actually sit there quietly and listen to what you have to say, allowing for a few moments of silence here and there as they think things over. However, once they ask a question it really hits the spot. They actually give helpful advice or even get you to come to the right conclusions on your own. If your friends enjoy talking to you and  tell you that you are a good listener, you are probably a good friend, and   an intelligent one at that.
The above reasons might explain why some very smart people are so quiet, not afraid of being alone and always find something to do that they enjoy. Your interest to read it is an indication that you may be one of them. Wish you all the best.

Is there a long-term solution to America’s weight problem?
More than half of all American adults are overweight and it's hard to turn on the TV without encountering a commercial for another weight loss remedy. This growing epidemic of obesity has not spared even the young school children who are showing high blood pressure, and other psychological and social problems related to overweight.
Overweight is not only a personal problem but has become a national crisis that drains our financial resources. Over 30 billion dollars are spent annually on weight reduction efforts in the United States, and the 30 billion dollar figure does not include the medical costs resulting from obesity-related diseases. For example, approximately 100,000 coronary by-passes are performed yearly at an average cost of over $70,000 each (i.e. $7 billion per year), and about 1,000 people in the U.S. alone die every day of cancer.
Weight control can help with many of the health-related problems which can reduce insurance and medical bills; and help solve the national health care crises.
Many of us know that to maintain a desirable weight is good, not only in terms of good looks, but more importantly, in terms of good health. However, the relationship between proper weight and health is more complicated than you think. The scales and scientific methods for calculating overweight and over all fat amounts are important, but more important in terms of health is where you carry the fat more than how much extra fat you carry. One of our aims is to tackle this problem, and to provide an effective technique to lose weight. Overweight or obesity is probably one of the most important dietary problems talked about and written about today.
Weight problems are rare in populations where a lot of natural fruits, vegetables and whole grains are consumed. But excess weight is a common problem in developed countries like the United States, where the progress of scientific and technical development has led to the common use of processed and refined foods, as well as use of growth hormones for profitable animal farming. One of the obvious effects of this move is the high caloric intake resulting from the decreased volume of processed foods. In other words, over-consumption of calories to fill the stomach that leads to an overweight. Traces of growth hormones from farm animals are also a contributing factor for the overweight problem.
Not only the diet but life style, whether sitting on a computer or watching TV or using a car or phone, is equally responsible for overweight crises. The problem is a new one; never before has man had so wide a choice-or so regular a supply-of good food; or such easy access to vehicles or phones that even natural exercise such as walking requires a special effort.
All kind of diets, exercise programs and other solutions have not worked even though it has become a billion dollar industry. If it did, we will not have all these grim statistics and over-weight people walking around.
I have known whatever is to know about weight, health, yoga, meditation from East as well as scientific approach from West. I have studied at Yale University, USA in the West, and Punjab University, India in the East. I have written 12 guides combining Eastern and Western approach to health from happiness to longevity.
However, I could not reduce even 5 pounds with typical diet and exercise. Look below my daily eating habits and other life style that many of us including medical and scientific experts can call ideal. Here it is my typical day:
After getting up in the morning:
1 cup of tea with no sugar but little skim milk
Breakfast: ÂĽ cup Oatmeal cereal
Snack: Apple, Banana or other fruit
Lunch: About one cup Frozen Vegetables microwaved, plus egg-white from boiled egg.
Evening Snack: Mostly Tea only (rarely a bran muffin).
Super: Two whole wheat (or millet) chapattis equivalent to about 2 slices of bread. Vegetable cooked Indian style with spices and little olive oil.
Drink plenty of water, 2 cups skim milk, no soda, no alcoholic drink (except in a company or at a party).
Exercise: About 5-10 minutes of yoga stretches in the morning. 3-4 miles walk in the evening.
This schedule is quite healthy and has kept me disease free, pain free and youthful in all aspects so far in my 70s now.
You will wonder what is left to tell that can reduce weight and stomach after following the above schedule. I was thinking the same till I tried something very simple and very effective. It can be done anywhere, anytime and requires no special equipment. And this is not even any diet or vigorous exercise or some nutrient, vitamin, hormone, and drug that I am promoting. I am talking about time to kapalbhatise; What's so different about this Kapalbhati Technique that Works!; How does It Work for Weight Loss!; Supplemental Exercises to Boost Energy; Science behind Success of this program.
“Reduce stomach naturally without surgery; you will lose weight and look great. It's that simple.”

Is there a relationship between stomach size, food intake, and weight control?
“Reduce stomach naturally without surgery. You will lose weight and look great.”
From the studies below, it is safe to assume that whatever can help reduce the stomach size will help control appetite and thus weight reduction. Further proof is the extreme example of surgical procedure to reduce stomach size. One of the major reasons for surgery to promote weight loss is that the operations close off parts of the stomach to make it smaller. Operations that only reduce stomach size are known as "restrictive operations" because they restrict the amount of food the stomach can hold.
Note: We are not suggesting surgery but there are natural ways to reduce stomach.
The stomach is a muscular organ - about the size of your hand - that stretches when full and returns to normal when empty. This stretching of the stomach is only temporary. The size of stomach that varies among individuals, affects food intake. Although bigger people tend to have bigger appetites, the size of the stomach--and not just the size of the body--appears to affect the feeling of fullness, or satiation, during and after a meal, according to research from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. The investigators found that compared with normal-weight adults, those who were overweight or obese took longer to feel satiated at mealtime. Similarly, those whose empty stomachs were larger needed more calories to feel completely full. It was not merely a matter of bigger people having bigger stomachs, said the researchers. Instead, the size of a person's empty stomach (called fasting gastric volume) was related to a feeling of fullness independent of body size. Their study included 134 healthy volunteers who, after an overnight fast, drank a liquid meal until they reached maximum satiation. Their stomach volume before and after eating was measured through non-invasive imaging. The researchers found that both body mass index (BMI) and fasting gastric volume were independently linked to the time it took participants to become full. The study suggests that factors governing stomach volume might predispose people to obesity and could serve as targets for weight-control tactics. These control mechanisms could range from eating patterns, such as whether a person eats small meals throughout the day or tends to binge, to hormones, to the nerves that control stomach contraction and relaxation (Gastroenterology, February 2004). Conclusion: Reduced stomach not only improves the appearance but helps control weight. Because, reduced stomach makes you feel full with less food reducing the amount of food eaten and thus the calories consumed. This leads to weight loss. Therefore, you're killing two birds with one-stone, the reduced stomach which reduces weight in this simple but effective exercise from “The Power of Breathing.”
Quiz: Who is more likely to die early?
 A. An overweight person with a flat stomach.
 B. A normal-weight person with a big stomach.
 Answer: B.
Surprisingly, a normal-weight man or woman who has a big stomach is more likely to die early from heart disease than an overweight or even obese man or woman who has a flat stomach.
That's why "Banish Belly" is an important part of losing weight.
