Hey I know I don't post personal stuff on this blog a lot, but I'm feeling really bad right now. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm on the wrong, and am seriously considering deleting this blog. I know antis who harrass people are wrong, but I'm wondering if i am accidentally creating a safe place for s€xual predators or something. Sorry for venting but I'm just upset. Plus I know the whole pro/anti thing is really immature and I'm worried I'm just adding to a dumpsterfire of hate here. I've tried not to be mean to anyone and I don't even ship anything "problematic" but I don't know if I should keep this blog up.
What if I'm just making a cringe online discourse battle worse. I obviously don't support actual abuse or anything like that, so what's the point in even arguing about it? It's not really helping any actual survivors for me to reblog a million "your valid' posts, is it? I just want people to be happy and safe and I don't know if I'm doing a good job of that.
Thanks for listening.

this is for those who despair over seeing ships or tropes that make them uncomfortable while they do their little scrolly-scroll on ao3, acting like they aren’t responsible for their own internet experience
(alternatively, the back button also works)

Daly reminder that proship doesn't mean you automatically ship something "problematic". It means your respectful to others opinions and taste.
I don't like incest, it makes me uncomfortable, so I don't look at it. It's that simple. If looking at certain content makes you upset, than you don't have to see it.

as an ex anti, being one is actually so exhausting. you can't like artists if they're proship, you can't like a writer/creator if they even signal they might not be against proship, and so on. you constantly have to appease other antis or you are at risk of being harassed/doxed. then if you even allude to proship maybe not being horrible/leaving proshippers alone, you're fucked.
this isn't even delving into how you are expected to treat proshippers. i could make a whole post on that alone. its just so stupid and for what? (purity culture and brownie points obviously but regardless)

Honestly you people need to start thinking about fanfiction like a restaurant.
You do not have to order the salmon if you don't like salmon.
If I order the salmon, I am not forcing you to eat the salmon. Nor are you obligated to order it just because I am.
If we are going with the intention of sharing food, that's okay! I happen to like steak too. I don't need to order the salmon. I'm capable of going to the restaurant and not ordering the salmon. We can order the steak.
There is a whole menu of things you can have. The salmon is just an option. We can even find a restaurant that doesn't serve salmon at all.
Yes, I know some people are allergic to salmon. But I'm not going up to them and force-feeding it to them. The only way my salmon can hurt them is if they come to our table and take the salmon.
The only way you'll expose yourself to my salmon and the unpleasantness of eating it is if I tell you my dish has salmon in it and you insist on having a bite anyway.
You're midway through your meal and realize it has salmon in it? Okay. Lets send it back and order something else. Maybe you didn't see it in the ingredients list. Or maybe the chef didn't put it down.
Its really that simple.

“Omgeee this persons art is so pretty!! I’m gonna check out their blog ^-^”
“proshitters dni”
I fall to my knees, screaming in agony. I turn my head towards the sky, wailing “WHY GOD??? WHYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!” I shake my fists at the sky. Tears fall down my face. I stand up, brush myself off, comb my hair back.
“Man that sucks :[ oh well”

Okay I'm curious, have any of you heard of the boyfriends webtoon or the hate it's gotten?
For context it's just a slice of life comic about a gay polycule that antis has over-hated to hell and back.

I have a pinterest account and the amount of antis on pinterest being horrible to people is absurd. I don't care if some of those accounts they hate on are bait, they're still cyberbullying 14 year olds and telling them to kys

Hot fandom discourse take but framing dark content as only being acceptable if its a vehicle for exploring personal trauma is just giving ground to the puritan segments of fandom.
Simply liking dark content for its own sake is perfectly fine.

Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question, but are there any blogs for people that are ex-anti? I used to be one since I was in my mid-teens, but given how anti culture has shifted, I've spent the past few months re-examining my place in the community and find that I no longer fit in, if I ever really did.
I think I was drawn to a lot of the critical and analytical aspects of it bc I'm an obnoxious nerd and like to be Loud and Annoying about my opinions. However, as the community progressed, I started becoming uncomfortable by others with my (perceived) shared stances as they would use it as justification to bully, harass, and encourage proshippers to kill themselves. Not all of them do that, but as we've all seen, too many of them do and it really sucks. I have also never fully bought into the idea that what someone enjoys in fiction, no matter how deplorable, automatically equates to what they are irl. At worst, I had some misguided notions about people's capabilities to make healthy choices for themselves and that's as far as my concern about ships went.
I think the final straw for me is antis sending CSEM material to the moderators at AO3 as well as a situation antis were apparently circulating CSEM of a proshipper from when they were being abused at age three. That's just beyond horrific.
Sorry for the text wall! I hope you have a good day.
Heya! No such thing as a dumb question, so no worries. To answer your question though, I don't actually know if there are any blogs out there specifically for ex-antis.
My blog is a safe space for folks trying to get out of those toxic circles, and I know a few other proshippers out there are also happy to give ex-antis a judgment-free place to start over, talk about their experiences, or just exist.
⭐ Hey! If you're a proshipper who is chill with ex-antis, please consider reblogging this! ⭐
And in case you need to hear it today, anon: you did good. It can hard to break away from environments like that, where people are kept in check through paranoia, fear, and the risk of being totally ostracized. I'm glad you were able to step away from that. ♡
