alec hardy is autistic here’s why
gets so focused on cases it’s pretty much all he can think about
outside of his one specialized area of work he is absolutely lost when it comes to communicating with other people
every time a conversation makes a shift from work to anything personal he clams up
cannot read casual situations for the life of him
clearly lost when it comes to social customs (shows up at ellie’s house with wine AND flowers AND chocolates because he wasn’t sure what to bring, shows up to ellie’s house and his date in season three in his suit and asks if that was wrong when it gets pointed out to him)
only emotes when he feels something strong enough to the point where he doesn’t have a choice (outbursts of anger, he laughs ONE TIME in the series and it’s when he seems unable to stop himself, he becomes overwhelmed and starts to cry several times, you can probably count the amount of times he smiles on your fingers)
aggressive outbursts, and he will yell at pretty much anybody with the exact same level of aggression
difficulty discussing things that have a personal bearing on him (doesn’t mention his daughter, whom he adores, until prompted, sends ellie a TEXT to tell her that he’s going into a surgery that was likely to kill him)
selectively nonverbal; when he’s working he doesn’t have a hard time speaking and communicating, but outside of that realm he isn’t very talkative
furthermore, i use this chart incredibly often to plot out symptoms of myself and also characters because i feel it is incredibly useful
rating each major symptom from a scale of 1 - 5, 1 being “doesn’t really present at all” and 5 being “presents incredibly often in daily life” i’d rate him:
depression: 3
fixations: 4
abnormal/flat speech: 2
noise sensitivity: 1
social difficulty: 5
anxiety: 3
abnormal posture: 1
poor eye contact: 2
tics and fidgets: 1
aggression: 5

Have you ever wondered why Crowley chose to present himself as a woman during Jesus' crucifixion scene?
This is just my theory, but during Jesus' time, there were strict rules on how men treated women. One of them was that Jewish men would never greet or speak to a woman in public unless they were their wife, daughter, mother, or sister.
Since Crowley wanted to keep himself as low-key as possible (and probably hide his strange eyes from humans), he presented himself as a woman so no one would approach him.
