Summary: All you knew was to run, because if you stopped HE would catch you. So when you finally do stop, you find someone to help you.
A/N: Woow it's been a while! Sorry about that, anyway... Have a new character and a new series that should hopefully run alongside my WW one!
You were selfish, you should have known better than to stay in one place for so long, but you couldn’t help yourself. This city seemed different, you felt it in your soul, you just wanted a little more time to see what the feeling was but it was too late, you had overstayed your welcome, now HE had found you. And cornered you into a fight with him which meant collateral damage.
The Beast was the 10 feet, horn bearing, monstrous looking threat that YOU had brought into this city, you knew he’d find you, so when he did arrive it was your fault that people were suffering the collateral damage of your fight. You knew that this had to end quickly but the Beast seemed to be stronger than the last time you fought. It didn’t help that you had been fighting him since the sun had gone down and you were very tired. Spells that once seemed to weaken it are doing next to nothing now.
Fighting in between buildings felt like a good idea at the time, since you were smaller than Beast, it naturally gave you more defensive options but now it was starting to look like you had blacked yourself into a corner.
He ripped a piece of asphalt from the ground like it was nothing and threw it at you, quickly you put up a shield spell but that didn’t kill the momentum that knocked into the side of a building. Your shield protected you from crashing into solid rock, instead you broke through it.
Coughing you pulled yourself out the ruble just in time to see a civilian passed out with a huge boulder on top of them and another from the ceiling hanging loose about to fall on top of them.
You quickly acted and yelled:
- Sredluob nrut ot selbbep - You watched as both, the one pinning them down and the one that was about to crush this innocent’s head turn to little rocks, no smaller than a coin. - Come on! We have to go! - you ushered them out of the hole you made in the building. Just as you made sure that this person wasn’t hurt and ran in the opposite direction from where you were headed. You heard Beast laugh.
- You really should not have stopped, your scent grows stronger everyday. And with my chances of getting you, grow everyday. - He started to gloat.
- Stoor dnib mih won! - you spoke, so tired but you couldn’t stop. Roots came up from the ground and wrapped around his huge feet and monstrous arms halting his movements. - Etativel! - You said quickly as a way to give yourself some distance from the monster, floating up, quickly running out of time to come up with a plan
You needed to weaken the monster enough so your banishment spell could work but right now that looked impossible. You’d need to hit him with more spells than what you think your body can handle and then cast the spell that locks him away for a while, you think the strain would knock you out for a long time… You’d need a miracle, you need help, you need-
- Stoor worg snroht! - You hear a feminine voice say and the roots binding the beast start to grow thorns making the monster scream in agony as they start to draw blood. This is it! He’s distracted and bleeding. It’s your chance.
- Morf ym luos I hsinab uoy won! - You screamed, feeling the magic taking its toll on your soul as it always did. The Beast roared as it started to glow.
- You know this won’t hold me forever, your scent grows stronger as do I. I’ll be back sooner than you think. - He used his final moments in this plane to threaten you, and you knew he was telling the truth.
You should get out of here right now but your body had other ideas, completely drained from the fight you blacked out while in mid-air.
You woke inside an ambulance, a paramedic having just finished mending your arm that you didn’t even notice had been badly bruised during the fight. A woman with raven black hair and wearing a tuxedo was looking at you smiling. No paramedics were around, you assumed they were tending to the civilians your fight had injured
- That was quite the fall, you’re welcome for catching you. - She said
- I… Thank you. - You managed to say, your eyes focused on her face making you notice her crystal blue eyes. - Were you the one who..?
- Made the roots grow spikes? Yes I was! - She extended her hand - I’m Zatanna.
You accepted the hand, using it to pull yourself out of the ambulance.
- Y/N. I’ve never met another person who could wield magic like me. - Though you couldn’t say you had ever looked, always bouncing from town to town. Never staying for long enough to meet people.
- And I’ve never seen someone try and climb out of an ambulance with a broken arm and probably a concussion. - She started to usher you back to the vehicle. But you put some distance between her and you.
- I’ll be fine, I should leave. - You said. Already walking backwards toward an alley. - Thank you for the assist but he’ll be back soon.
- Then you should stay and help fight him. - She argued.
- I am helping. He follows me, it’s me that he wants. So if I go he has to start his search again and leave this town alone. - You explained, dreading the thought of leaving without figuring out what is so special about this place but you had caused enough damage.
- I can’t let you leave in that shape. - She followed you into the alley you had gone into.
You looked at the beautiful woman, gearing yourself for a fight you could not finish, you were drained after the banishment spell and your arm hurt like hell.
- Please let me help you, I have powerful friends and we can give you refreshments, medical help and a lot more fire power when the thing comes back. - She argued, putting her hands up.
You considered it, it made sense. Also you really wanted more time with this place (and this woman).
- Okay… - You said, missing the small smile Zatanna had on her face. - I’ll go with you, but I’m not staying long. You’ve seen what happens when he arrives.
- Of course, just until you’re better. - She got a little closer to you. - We’re going to go to one of the safehouses, nobody should be there. Are you ready? - She asked, bringing her hands down to her torso.
- Ready for wha- - You started but were cut off when she spoke.
- Tropelet su ot eht esuohefas! - Light started to surround you both as a glowing circle appeared underneath you two, and gone in flash you saw yourself standing in what looked like a warehouse that had been turned into a living space;  you saw beds lined up with their headrest against the wall, on the other side you saw what looked like a supercomputer in a corner displaying the Justice League symbol on it. Other than that there were a couple of boxes stacked in a corner, there was a fridge and other appliances on what looked like a second floor.
- Oh, teleportation - You said almost losing your balance. - That’s cool, I didn’t know that was possible.
- Anything is possible. - She smiles and steadies you. - You just gotta want it. - She says softly while holding you, you could steady yourself and move away, but you don’t want to. It feels nice to have her close.
- So, you want to show me arou- - Pain, you felt indescribable pain in your core and suddenly you weren’t in the warehouse anymore. You were floating in a dark space seeing only wisps of purple go around you.
The pain had stopped and was instead replaced by confusion, there was no sound except your heartbeat, you felt yourself floating as if inside a pool with no ground beneath you or anything for miles.
- You. - You heard a voice say, you couldn’t tell where it came from. But you could tell who it was from.
- Beast. - You grumbled lowly, your voice echoing, the purple wisps around you moving as you tried to orient yourself. - Is this your place? I expected more fire and brimstone. - You couldn’t see him but you could make him mad.
- I know not where you are Y/N but know this: - Wait, he couldn't see you? So maybe you weren’t in the same place. - Your victory won’t last long, I am almost getting free and when I leave my prison, nothing will stop me from getting you. I’ll finally be satisfied. - There he goes again, talking about you like you’re some kind of sandwich.
- Yeah, over my dead body. Now why don’t you show yourself and tell me how you did this. - You clenched your fists and started to spin on this void to try and catch a glimpse of him. - I really didn’t think you lived inside an emo’s tesla ball.
- What do you mean? - He sounded confused. - You’re not in my sanctum?
- I… You have no idea how you’re able to talk to me. Do you? - That wasn’t good, that means that either you did something or… - Wait, did you hear tha- - And then pain, not in your core but in your head this time. A headache that felt like someone was splitting your head in half with an ax. Your fingernails dug into your scalp as you screamed helplessly into the void.
While in your agonized state of pain staring into the void you saw flashes before your eyes, vision of something. A giant shining ankh, a man stepping through it wearing a golden helmet, another flash and you saw Zatanna looking down at you with a warm smile, another flash and she was now looking fierce, a bleeding cut on her forehead as she ran at you, her hand glowing with magic. The last flash was of Beast with a vicious look in his eyes as he finally had what most wanted in the universe. The last thing you saw was the golden helmet in front of your face, you stared deep into its eye holes and felt a message reverberating through your body: You have to let go! it said. The last part kept repeating inside your mind, adding to the chorus of pain was a repeating LetGoLetGoLetGoLetGoLetGO!. After that, the pain became too much, making you pass out from the pain, floating in this space that you had no idea how you ended up there.
You woke up not in the void, but on a bed with Zatanna looking down at you wearing that same warm smile as from that vision you had. Beside her was a green woman with red hair with her hands extended above your body and head.
Upon seeing this strange new woman you shot up from the bed, Zatanna’s smile being replaced with a concern as she said.
- It’s okay! She’s a friend. - She said placing her hands on your shoulder to keep you from getting up too fast. She waited until you calmed down enough, never breaking eye contact, before speaking again. - This is M’Gann, she’s my friend and a telepath. I called her when you dropped to the floor screaming and holding your head, I got really worried when you suddenly stopped. But she assured me you were fine. - She finished telling the story.
You looked at M’Gann, and really took in her appearance. She looked familiar but you couldn't place it until she clarified.
- My uncle is the Martian Manhunter. - She said, and you let out an audible ‘oh’ so now the Justice League knows about you, great.
- You were worried? - You asked Zatanna, she nodded. - We don’t even really know each other.
- I know enough. - She replied.
- Me too! - M’Gann said quickly. - Sorry, I just got a look into your head and… Well to find out what had happened I had to dig deep. - She looked at you with sorrowful eyes and you hear in your head I’m really sorry for everything that happened to you.
You brushed her apology aside and asked.
- So did you find out what happened?
- Yes, I believe the reason I couldn’t wake you until now was because… - She got a look of her face like she was trying to decide on how to phrase it. - Your… Consciousness was somewhere else, it was like your mind had gone away for a while and that left your body confused and hurting.
- So my mind got kidnapped? - M’Gann shrugged.
- That’s the best way to explain it. - She looked at her phone, then at Zatanna. - Z I’m sorry I can’t stay longer but I have to go back home, it was very nice to see you. - She hugged Zatanna which gave you a ping of jealousy but you didn’t know why.
- I understand, I’m glad you were able to come in such short notice, say hi to everyone for me. - M’Gann nodded and left the warehouse, leaving you two alone.
- Thanks, again… For getting some help to pull me out of that. - You say looking down to the ground, feeling a little embarrassed at how many times you passed out in front of this woman.
- Anytime. - You notice her pursing her lips and saying. - If you don’t mind me asking, what happened?
You let out a big sigh to collect your thoughts before telling her everything, omitting the visions you had of her. You noticed her brows furrowing when you mentioned the man wearing the golden helmet.
- You know the man that wears the golden helmet don’t you?
- Yes, and if he’s involved… - She got a look of worry on her face for a second before shaking it off. - Anyway, until we get confirmation on this- - You interrupted her.
- Woah, woah, woah. What do you mean we?
- Well, you seem to be being chased by an interdimensional monster and you have the attention of Dr. Fate. I’m not letting you out of my sight. - She said with a beautiful white smile that it took you a second to snap out of it.
- Exactly! There’s a giant monster after me. If I stay I’m endangering everyone. - It broke your heart to have to leave without figuring out what it is about this city that pulled you to it.
- And we’ll fight it - She put a hand on your shoulder - I’ll help you fight it. I can see you’ve been battling this thing alone for a long time, let me help. - You looked into her eyes expecting to see just someone who was doing this just because they feel they have to, but you didn’t see it. Instead you saw a genuine want to help.
- Alright. - You sighed out, not noticing the way her lips curved up into a smile because you turned around to grab your stuff. - First things first, where exactly are we? - You turned to her.
- Oh that’s easy we’re in- - She was cut off by the giant, glowing ankh symbol that had appeared next to you two making a loud ‘boom’ sound. - What the? Oh. - She sounded displeased - It’s him.
- Him who..? - You started but that soon became obvious when a figure emerged from the symbol.
- Y/N L/N - He said stepping out of the giant ankh portal - I am Doctor Fate, voice of the lords of order on this planet, and You have upset the balance in this world. You must come with me.
This was him, this was the figure from your vision. Only real and… Wait, was that a threat?

Didn't Plan for This: Chapter 4
Wonder Woman x Fem!Demigod!Reader
No Warnings I think? Reader being anxious
3.5k words
Chapter 3
Masterlist
Summary: What WILL you do next?
A/N: I'm sorry, this wasn't supposed to take so much time to complete, or have as many words. Hope you enjoy it more than the Depression one I made a while back
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What came next was showers, movies, shows and now it’s monday again. The news, during the weekend, didn’t seem to know that I was involved, they only talked about the heroes and only showed footage of far away Earthlings and only really focused on the giant monster and the city’s efforts to fix Intergang’s destruction. Which would’ve been much worse if the monster had made it to the city. And I think it’s good they didn’t mention me, I don’t know if I could handle it if my face was that public, me and Ana probably would have to move faster than we already were…
Monday came and we only had to be at work as a formality as our boss had promoted us to go to a new branch of the company in Metropolis, something about it being in need of the best in-house security and trainers. All being paid by LexCorp, Ana was chosen to be the manager and teach all the newbies on how to keep the company running and I was chosen so that I could “Give the security your magic touch” my boss’s words not mine. It also helped that we were best friends so they didn’t have to pay for more than one apartment. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Monday came and I was happy to wake up and see a message from Diana saying: “Good Morning Y/N. I wanted to update you and say that the two criminals you took out are on their way to the Belle Reve Super-Prison, I hope you have an amazing day.”
I giggled at her very formal message as I always do and responded accordingly: “Sounds like our next date is going to be a lot slower. 😌”
After a little back and forth, I heard Ana banging on my room’s door.
- Y/N get up! We gotta go right now!
- Don’t worry I’m up. I’ll be right out - I said before putting on my shoes, quickly fixing my hair, and going out
- Finally, I thought you finally became a creature of the night and went off to be one with the owls. - She smirked
- Trust me. You’ll know when I’ve ascended. - I lightly elbowed her on the stomach. - Now let’s go, we’re late, I’ll buy you something on the way
- Now you’re talking! - She sprinted towards the door.
After we got some breakfast, we eventually got to the building we worked at. It really didn’t look like it was on the precipice of crumbling in on itself a week ago.
As soon as we got inside we were greeted by some men in suits holding briefcases, Ana’s replacement that was behind the secretary’s table talking to these men, they were facing away from us as the table is facing the front door so the new secretary, Esther I think was her name, saw us first and looked relieved.
- There you are! - she said to both of us, ushering me and my friend to come closer - These gentlemen say they are with LexCorp and need to talk to the new hires for the Metropolis building.
The two men in suits turned around to look at us and I don't know what it was but something told me not to trust them. So I linked my arm with Ana’s so she’d be next closer to me.
One had a goatee and was bald with an air of doing this job for far too long, with the bags under his eyes and the permanent scowl on his face, definitely didn’t look like the type to be a lawyer. I would know, I met a few while on the job (you’d be surprised how much bureaucracy it took to get those slides installed).
The other gentleman looked younger, clean shaven and hair combed back. He had small circular glasses, he actually did look like the type to be a desk lawyer. Going over contracts. Not the type to be outside the office. He held onto his briefcase with more force than his colleague who was more relaxed.
- You must be Ms. Y/L/N and Ms. Blönd - The older man said - I am Vince and this is my partner Isaac. As the secretary already said, we’re with LexCorp - He shook both mine and Ana’s hands before handing me his card. It looked right, but I’ve been in this job for far too long so I looked back to him and said:
- Do you have any official documents Mr..?
- LeBlanc and his is Grey. And yes we do. - he handed me his official credentials, it looked legitimate, and he IS a lawyer, one with a soldier-like stance but maybe he was in the army. - We wanted to talk to you two and your boss for some final document signing and relieve you from this station. - That’s a weird way to put it…
- Well then, shall we? - I said motioning to the elevators.
Getting to my boss’s office I relaxed a little, his attitude is familiar and that makes me calm. He took the reins in the dialogue clearly having done this before, the lawyers kept throwing legal jargon at him, perhaps testing him though I wouldn’t know the reason why someone would test a person they already made a deal with. Nevertheless he never looked confused or lost.
Throughout the whole thing my mind just kept wondering back to Diana and the offer Batman made, being a Superhero… That was always my dream as a kid! And to a hero that stands beside the Justice League? Earth’s protectors. I mean, it wasn’t a year ago when they made others official leaguers, but those were superheroes with reputations, heroes like: The Atom, Captain Marvel, Dr. Fate and Black Canary have saved the country at least once on their own. I’ve only saved one building and maybe the city if you squint, but even that was a group effort… I don’t know if there’s an angle that they’re playing but that’s for me to find out. So maybe their angle is- Wait shit Mr. Whatshisname asked me a question.
- I’m sorry, could you repeat that? - I said giving him a small smile, he sighed and said.
- I asked when can you and your friend get ready to go to Metropolis. - Vince, I remembered, scratched his goatee in a nervous tick I noticed.
- Oh, umm… - I looked at Ana who shrugged, we didn’t have much in terms of really important stuff, we didn’t even have a TV. We just watch movies on our laptops. - Tonight I guess. In terms of ‘how soon can we get packed to leave’ not move out of our apartament I’m assuming. We still need our beds and stuff.
- You assumed correct Ms. Y/L/N. Though the place LexCorp is providing is already furnished with all the basic necessities, beds, fridge and other appliances are included on the contract. We’ll be sending a car tonight to your apartment and it’ll take you two to Metropolis; dropping you off at your new place. - The smaller man, Isaac, said while looking over the contract. - So you two should get packed as soon as you can and we’ll move all your other possessions… - He took a little book out of his briefcase. When he opened it I noticed a little silver box inside, too big to be a ring box but small enough to not pay attention to itself. - Next week works for you? - That was a rhetorical question of course, we now “work” for them.
- It does, yes. - Ana responded, noticing my look of “I'm gonna say something that will upset them” I gave her. Electing to speak for the both of us so I didn’t make a snarky comment.
- Then all that is left is the signing of the documents - Isaac said, motioning to Vince.
The larger man took out a folder from his briefcase and laid it on my boss’s table, we all read it, approved it and signed. After shaking both Mr. LeBlanc’s and Mr. Grey’s hands, the former having a firmer grip than the other, they left and Mr. Vamp, my boss, released a huge sigh.
- I’m so glad that went so well. - he said to us. - We have a lot riding on this deal, so you two better not disappoint me. Especially you Ana, You’ll technically be the boss over there. You’ll answer to me and your supervisor, but they won’t be there everyday. - He looked at his copy of the contract - Yeah, your superior will only be there three days a week, the rest is all you.
- I know sir, I won’t let you down. You know that I can do this, being a secretary kept me sharp and up-to-date on everyone and everything. So I know how to manage myself and others. - she said - And of course I won’t be alone. - I nodded and put a hand on her shoulder - Y/N/N here should be good as a fallguy! - I slapped her arm and that made Mr. Vamp laugh.
- Gee thanks, it's not like I’m in charge of your office’s lock and key! - I retorted - But yes sir you can count on us.
- Glad we talked, it’s not going to be the same without you guys around here - he said with a sad smile - I hope this deal goes well and you two become our most successful filiate. Now… - He checked his watch - If you want to be all packed for your move tomorrow you should go now.
We made our way to the ground floor and just as we were about to leave we made a quick stop at the receptionist's desk to talk a bit with Esther.
- Yeah they were weird weren’t they? - Esther said when asked about the two lawyers who came to close the deal. - I felt as if they were hiding something. But also they asked a few weird questions, specifically about you Y/N.
- Me? Why would they- - Maybe they knew? They couldn’t. Could they? - What kind of questions?
- If you were talkative, when were you hired, if you ever did anything “out of the ordinary” - She did air quotes, those questions are unrelated but also not. I’d need more time with this to think - I just said “Well everything she does is weird” but that didn’t get a reaction - She giggled, I chuckled.
- Well, thanks for everything Esther. Good luck with keeping this place in one piece without us - I said, turning to leave
- Yeah, it's gonna be really boring without your two favorite people - Ana added moving to my side as we left.
- Oh please, don’t flatter yourselves. - she said, walking us to the door before pulling it open for us. - Good luck… I mean, with not driving the other building into the ground. - She smiled softly as we pulled her into a hug.
Getting back to our place, me and Ana started packing. When I finished before her I decided to try and call Diana and tell her the good news. I sat on my bed and called. After a couple rings I was surprised when she actually picked up, I assumed she would be busy doing more important things.
- Y/N? - she asked, it was so good to hear her voice again. she sounded a little exasperated like she’d just stopped running.
- Diana? Hi, yes it’s me, can you talk? - I asked, not wanting to catch her, in the middle of an important thing.
- Yes I can, what did you need? Are you okay? - She asked, it was sweet how much she cared. It made me feel warm inside.
- Yes I’m okay, I just have some big news that I wanted to share.
- Oh? What is it?
- My job is moving me to Metropolis so I can be that place’s new Chief of Security! - I squealed into the phone. I hadn’t actually said out loud yet to anyone but that moment made me realize how it was that it was happening to me. - I think they might send a limo to pick us up. - I said quietly to myself
- Oh Y/N that’s wonderful! Do you know when you’re starting? - She genuinely asked, trying to engage which made me very happy.
- Tomorrow me and Ana are going to go to the building to get acquainted with the place, so I’d say wednesday! I’m guessing tonight me and her will be moved. - I answered, while looking for my planner book to see if I was remembering things correctly. And I was!
- Sounds like you have a full week ahead of you. I also have some news! - She said in an excited manner which made me excited for her, how does she do that to me?
- Oh? And what kind of news is big news for The Wonder Woman - I teased a little, earning a chuckle out of her.
- Well… I just got a job as Security Personal for a big company! I mean, Diana Prince got a job. Wonder Woman already has a job… - She rambled, making me chuckle.
- Your secret identity didn’t have a job before?
- I did, it just wasn’t very good. They kept putting me on boring desk jobs and never gave me actual assignments. This new job might be better… At least, the pay and benefits are. - She giggled - And it’s also in Metropolis! So that’s also a big plus! - She finished and I could hear her smile through the phone
- That’s amazing Diana! And where are you going to work?
- A big company that makes electronics, Gradeck Inc! - She said, and I audibly gasped - Y/N? What’s wrong?
- Nothing's wrong! - I quickly said - It’s just. Well, that’s where I’m gonna be working! - She also gasped.
- By the gods! We’re going to be co-workers? I am honored! - That comment made me blush and I was glad she couldn’t see me.
- I’m the one who’s honored! My co-worker is Wonder-Woman! They might as well get rid of me. That place can’t get any safer! - I joked.
- Hey, you are still important, they got you in the chief’s chair for a reason and I can only think of good ones. - If I wasn’t a blushing mess before…
- Thank you Diana, that means a lot to me. - We stayed in silence for a second before I gave in to the little voice inside my head and said - Diana. Are you free this weekend? So we can celebrate? - I added so it didn’t seem like a “formal” date and maybe she didn’t feel pressured into a date and more like a hang-out. She shouldn’t feel like she needs to go on a date but maybe the pressure is already on her and she doesn’t like it? Maybe she’s gonna say no and be don-
- I would like to go on a date with you, yes. - she said, snapping me out of my anxiety induced thoughts. I released a big sigh of relief.
- That’s good! That’s great! Yes, I’m so excited! - I started to ramble, she just listened and told me she was very excited as well.
We decided on a place and time, opting to have a “regular” date, figuring the last one had plenty of excitement already.
As we were talking about nothing in particular, I heard the buzzer in my apartment ring.
- Oh. Diana, I got to go! I think the car is here.
- Okay! We’ll talk more tomorrow then. Have a good night Κούκλα - she said, I didn’t really know Greek, just bits and pieces. But it made me feel warm inside so I assumed it was something cute.
- You too Di, have a good night as well! - I said before hanging up with a big grin on my face.
I grabbed my bags and answered the buzzer. The doorman said that, indeed, it was a car from LexCorp. I asked him to tell the car to wait a second and that we were on our way. I knocked on Ana’s bedroom door and said:
- Ana! Come on! The car is already here.
- Hang on, I’m just… Closing… my… - she was clearly struggling with something. I let myself in and saw my best friend on top of a travel bag trying really hard to close it. - Bag…
- Let me help.
- No, I got it!
- What you’re going to get is a hernia! Let me help! - I chuckled when she pouted but got off from the top of the bag. With a little demigod enhanced strength, I was able to push it down while Ana zipped it closed. - See, that wasn’t so hard. - I smirked.
- I thought your mom was the goddess of nerds, not jocks… - She thanked me in her way. - But since, you’re so strong. You can carry it! - She grabbed our backpacks and purses, leaving me to carry the heavy stuff.
- Your way of saying ‘thank you’ touches me everytime. - I grumbled while we got in the elevator. She laughed.
- Yeah, thanks. Now, tell me about that phone call. - She turned to me with expectation written on her face.
- Nothing to tell… Yet - I kept Diana’s new job a secret as I thought seeing Ana’s reaction would be too funny to miss
- Oh come on! - She complained but she knew I wasn’t talking so she switched subjects - Are you gonna take the Bat’s offer?
- I… Don’t know. - I said as we got out of the elevator - I mean, being a hero would be sooo cool and I’ve dreamed of making a real difference for years!
- But..?
- But the Central Park fight was so scary I had no idea what to do. I was lucky the big guy was a push-over. And, being a public hero would be so much more pressure.
- You’d have a team.
- Of Superpowered and extraordinary people, I’m just kinda smart.
- And the smart one of that team asked you to join, he must see potential in you. - She argued back.
I thought about it in silence as we got into the car that LexCorp sent to drive us to our new place. It looked like a regular car not the limo I somehow convinced myself it was going to be.
Ana’s response made sense, but remembering how Batman acted at the beginning and at the I can’t help but feel he has an angle. I can’t figure out the angle right out now, but if I was working with him I could probably get more info.
- I’ll do it. - I said to Ana that was sitting next to me in the backseat.
- I knew you would - She seemed pleased with herself.
- Not because of you, though you were a great help.
- Is it because of- - she started to say Diana’s name but I cut her off.
- Not her! - I said quickly, earning an eyebrow raise from my best friend - Well… Not necessarily because of her, though I admit she’s a pretty big reason as to why I’m saying yes.
- Then why? - She asked. I eyed the driver in front of us, call me paranoid but I wasn’t about to say I got an offer from the Justice League to become a hero within earshot of him.
I shook my head and mouthed a “not now” to her, she nodded, understanding and switching topics immediately.
We kept chatting about nothing in particular until we got to Metropolis. I stopped talking and just admired the architecture, seeing it on TV it always seemed way too futuristic but seeing it from the ground floor it looked just right with all the stores and high-end cars they had. All the buildings aligned with each other perfectly, the structural base of each one a puzzle piece that fit together. Even the park we passed looked mathematically perfect. Safe to say my mouth was hanging wide open.
I didn’t even notice when we arrived at my and Ana's new place, the driver simply said we had arrived and very quickly got out of the car to grab our bags in the trunk. Depositing them in front of us, handing me a key, saying his goodbye and leaving us in front of a very pretty building and no other direction.
- I guess that’s metropolian courtesy for us - Ana said making me chuckle
I gave Ana the keys, grabbed our bags, her carrying our backpacks and we stepped into the building. It was pretty late at night so it wasn’t surprising we didn’t see our neighbors on our way up.
As soon as we got to our floor and got into the new apartament, Ana barely gave me time to close the door before demanding to know my reasoning for accepting the offer.
After explaining my train of thought she hummed before saying
- You’re gonna try and spy on The Batman?
- It sounds stupid when put it like that. I’m just going to make sure his ulterior motives for bringing me on are justified. Not spying, just gathering more information once I’m there.
- And why do you think there’s an ulterior motive?
- Because why else would he bring on? - I said plainly, not giving a chance to respond before going to my room and starting to unpack.
When I finished organizing my books and putting a clean bed sheet on the bare mattress that came with the place I looked at the time and saw it was only eleven, I decided to take the plunge and call the number Batman gave me.
Ring once, Ring twice
- Name and answer - a robotic but gentle voice said.
- Y/N Y/L/N. I accept.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: How's that for foreshadowing? Anyway, after this I'm gonna start a new series to run side by side with this. And I'm hoping I won't die from exhaustion, but I probably won't I have a plan for this next one AND for the next few parts for this one. lmk what do you think Y/N's Hero-Name is going to be?

I got you
Nightwing x GN!Reader
Warnings: Depressive episode, anxiety, minor suicidal thoughts, crying. But it has a happy ending. Hurt/comfort
1K words
Masterlist
Summary: You had a bad depressive episode, fortunately your boyfriend was there to cheer you up
A/N: Hiiii, I know this is a weird one to post but I just had one of the worst depressive episodes ever and after a long shower, this came out. It helped me to write out everything with my comfortiest character, I hope you enjoy it! DPFT 4 is coming I just needed to get this out of me first.
PS: This was written in, like, two hours not proofread at all Sorry!
Nightwing knew the second he got the notification on his mask, to drop everything and go back to your place. He gave you that for this specific reason and he would not disappoint when you actually used it. But first, he made a quick-stop.
After carefully opening the front door to the apartment and laying the bags he brought on the counter, he found you curled up on the couch, tear-stained cheeks staring into nothing, not even registering that he had arrived. This was a particularly bad depressive-episode and he knew that this would be difficult, but Dick Grayson isn’t one to leave when things are hard.
You felt the end of the couch dip slightly, you didn’t even remember calling him. Way inside your own mind to remember much but the little button with his symbol on it was in your hand. So that explained it.
- You came - You said, voice quiet still not meeting his eyes. You didn’t think he’d come, he has a whole city to protect, you’re far less important than the city. No one would notice if you just disappeared.
- I did. - He said scooching a little closer - What made you think I wouldn’t? - His tone was light, wanting you to open up but not pressuring either.
- I don’t know, I just… Thought you had more important things. I don’t want you to drop everything when I’m sad, I’ll be fine. - You said, still keeping your voice low, not trusting yourself to not burst into tears.
That when he decided to try and interlace your fingers together, when you didn’t push him away he kissed your fingers.
- You’re not just sad, and it’s the least I could do, you’ve been with me for so many of my worst moments I’m honored you called me.
- But, the city. You just left it alone, I can’t be more important than this place you just- - You started to ramble, repeating yourself, falling deeper and deeper. He saw this happening and put his other on top of yours, placing it on top of his heart. Grounding you as you felt his calm heartbeat.
- You ARE important to me, you are important to so many people. The city can exist without me, but I don’t know if I can without you - He said honestly and that broke through, you threw yourself on him sobbing and holding him for dear life, he still smelled like his cologne even though he’d been out fighting crime for a while. The smell brought you comfort. - You want to tell me what’s got you like this. - He spoke quietly into your ear holding you tightly, his arms protecting you from anything.
You told him about your day, and how you hadn’t been taking your meds for a couple days since they ran out and you didn’t have the energy to get more. Throughout it you never let go of him, he stayed still and listened intently, only letting out a low-hum when you mentioned your meds.
- Do you feel better? - Dick asked softly - Or do I need to bring out my secret weapon? - He said with a little more joy, he knew that when you got it all out of yourself you were more susceptible to his games.
- What did you bring? - You said, a little smile forming. You knew he never half-assed his attempts to cheer you up, so of course he brought something. Even though just his presence was enough.
- It’s a surprise. - You pulled yourself out of his chest and pouted. You both knew he couldn’t resist it. So he covered his eyes, not wanting to fall prey to your charm.
- No fair. - you nudged his shoulder, he chuckled. Dick uncovered his eyes and smiled at you.
- I’m gonna prepare the surprise. Are you okay with picking a movie for us? - You knew what he was asking, he was asking if you needed him to stay with you some more. But you were better now that Dick had returned home, so you nodded.
After a few minutes you put on a musical for both of you to watch, and he returned to the living room. Balancing two cups of hot chocolate on one hand and two plates of pancakes on the other, all while humming a circus song. He really looks like a balancing act from the circus, or the beginning of a clown act if you didn’t help him.
- Grayson! You’re gonna drop them if you try this any longer - You lightly scolded him before taking the plates.
- I’d never put innocent pancakes on the line for a joke! - He retorted with a fake offended look.
- Pancakes? - You looked at the plates. - but it’s 10pm.
- You have school tomorrow? - He asked with a smirk - We’re both adults! We can eat whatever we want whenever we want.
- You’re right. - You said with a smile.
- I know.
You two sat down, ate your pancakes and drank your hot chocolates. It was perfect. By the end of the movie you felt yourself start to fall asleep, you held on a little longer just to see the ending. You started to cuddle closer to Dick and he to you. Eventually the movie ended and Dick saw you were fighting sleep so he decided to carry you to bed, he changed into his sleep clothes and got into bed with you. Wrapping his arms around you.
Before sleep could take you, a question popped into your head.
- You didn’t actually leave Blüdhaven alone did you? - You knew he must’ve left someone at least on lookout. But in your depressive state, you didn’t even think about it.
- I did not. - He answered - The Titans are protecting it.
- All of them? - He nodded - Isn’t that a bit overkill?
- So I could spend more time with you? Never. - You kissed him on the cheek for that response.
After he said that, you felt like you actually were wanted. He actually liked you. You actually had someone who looked forward to seeing you. And that felt warm, and you let yourself sleep in his arms.

Didn't Plan for This: Chapter 3
Wonder Woman x Demigod!Fem!Reader
Warnings: Guns, punches, mention of blood
4.9k words
Chapter 2
Masterlist
Summary: This is your chance to impress the Justice League, you hope everything goes well…
A/N: Merry Chritsmas! I did not think this would be out before the end of the year. I discovered I have a VERY hard time imagining things that aren't conversations. So a fight of this scale was SUPER hard. I'll probably avoid fights like this in the future. But still I hope you enjoyed it. Drawings of the machines and monsters are coming in the future <3
I opened my eyes when the machine stopped glowing and sure enough, we were back in New York. As soon as we got out I realized we were standing in a different part of the city ‘multiple teles so you can always have a way out, nice!’ I thought.
Diana looked at me with a serious expression on her face.
- What do you know of the Intergang? - she asked
- I know that they are bad, at least that’s what the TV news says - I racked my brain for information about this gang but my knowledge about the criminal world was not the best.
- That’s all you need to know about them, but also, that they have access to weapons that are not from our world so we need to approach carefully - she said picking me up for another flight, I noticed that she said we needed to approach with care but I knew she meant that I needed to be careful - You might want to think strategies to fight big guys with big guns - she looked down at me and smiled.
- Do we have backup? - I asked, needing all the information I could get my hands on. This was a pretty big step up from my building falling and I didn’t have any plans that accounted for that.
She told me we were going to meet up with Batman and Cyborg a little bit outside of the fight, happening in a secluded part of Central Park, so that we could strategize but that Superman and Flash were already fighting a few of them, as the Integang apparently had some kind of earth minions that were heading towards the city and meant harm to civilians.
She also told me that Intergang had a couple of people that were the “Brains” of the operation - she used air quotes while we were flying and that was a scare that we laughed off - so without them the gang would likely scatter but that would mean they would guard the hell out of them.
As we approached the rooftop that Batman and Cyborg were on, my nerves were going through the roof. Diana must’ve felt my heartbeat on her chest when I held onto her a little more tightly, she whispered in my ear.
- Don’t worry, you’ll do fine, just talk to them like you talk to me and they’ll treat you like a peer. - she said as a way to calm me down, which worked. Her accent and the low tone of her voice made for a great tranquilizer.
- You're probably right - I said, taking in a deep breath and silently praying to Athena for strength and the ability to not get tongue-tied in front of earth’s protectors.
We landed 8.3 feet away from them and immediately I could feel Batman glaring at me and Cyborg studying every aspect about me. He was about to say something when Diana spoke first.
- This is Y/N, she is my friend. I have seen her first-hand act like a hero out of her own accord, intentionally putting herself in danger so that she could save others. I trust her. - This seemed to be enough to silence them both Batman sending me one last distrusting glare before returning his attention to the Robot-Man pulling up a detailed hologram of the area that the fight was taking place in, complete with little Earth-Warriors and little frozen miniatures of Superman and Flash.
Looking from the building to the part of the park they were fighting - a couple of miles down the building - the two heroes seemed to be holding their own, but a big detail that was both in the hologram and painfully obvious from where I was standing was the huge machine pumping out the Earthlings. It looked like a 20 foot tall virus with a cannon spitting out Earthlings as they were created, when it did, the ground shook. - less than the earthquake from a few days back - It was clear it was taking materials from the earth to make these things. I turned back to the group just in time to see Diana receiving some kind of order from Batman, she looked displeased but nodded. When I got close to group she said
- I’m gonna go try and slow those things down, they are not as big as last time. - she said quietly - Apparently the giant machine is made from something truly unbreakable so our only chance is you three coming up with a way to stop the machine from digging to the center of the earth making those dirt-people. I trust you all will be able to do so without taking too much time. - She looked at me and that look told me that she trusted the other two not to shun me out, so I nodded, trusting her heart.
Diana’s look hardened until I realized that was her Wonder Woman look, she was on a mission, and no one was going to stop her. She flew towards the fight and Batman turned to me.
- Wonder Woman might trust you with her heart, but I judge a person based on their brain. Who are you? - His look compelled me to say everything about me and I wondered if he truly had no powers as everyone said.
- I’m Y/N L/N, a daughter of Athena, the goddess of Wisdom, War and Battle Strategy. I am the Chief of Security at my company though my boss doesn’t know of my heritage. Only my best friend knows my secret. - I said looking into his eyes so he knew I was telling the truth.
I left out the part of me sending the Hall of Justice a mountain of plans and contingencies as I didn’t know if they had ever seen them. Apparently Cyborg had other ideas, because when I stopped he said.
- She’s the one who’s been sending plans to make the world safe for so long - He spoke looking into space, either looking into the League’s records or not wanting to see the glare I sent him.
Batman ‘hmm’d and just nodded turning back to the holograph, I had done well… Yes! I thought to myself.
- First things first - he said not looking away from the hologram - Cyborg won’t be able to get too close, they have tech that overrides his systems, making him unable to use his robot parts - Cyborg looked at me and nodded sadly. - So our plan will have to work without him to back us up.
- So… Can you see who is controlling the machine? Do they have a base? Or a control panel? - I asked hopeful to get a weak point that we could target
- Yes. - Batman said - The machine must be controlled by Ugly Mannheim, the leader, he’s holed up somewhere around there but my and Cyborg’s scanners aren’t picking him up. But he must be close enough so he can still order his men around and get a lookout on the operation - He said Mannheim’s name without an ounce of irony so that must be what he goes by all the time. Poor guy…
I thought through all the options and looked at the hologram, noticing a distinct lack of goons in one flank. It was small enough that they wouldn’t notice but worrying enough so that it would take just a single soldier to-
- There! - I said pointing at the space. We needed to find the remote but until we could pinpoint the leader, our focus had to be on the goons and Earthlings. - Can you ask Flash to go through there? He should be able to get behind them and split their attention long enough so we can make more holes in their line, that should make them easier to dispose of.
Batman and Cyborg stared at the map, looking for mistakes on my plan, I know it. When they seemed to not find anything to complain about, Batman put a finger to his mask and said through his comm.
- Flash, I need you to go through the hole they have in their defenses a few yards out from your position. - He stayed silent and I assumed Flash was saying an acknowledgement.
I looked out from the edge of the building and saw that the goons were starting to look around more, meaning that their attention was split between the supers in front and behind them. The Earthlings didn't seem to care, only seeming concerned with getting to the city, but Superman was taking care of them.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and saw Cyborg holding a little earpiece
- It’s one of our communication devices, that way you don’t have to wait for the Bat to say your plan and maybe butcher it. - He said with a smile, I smiled back and put the device on my ear.
Immediately I was able to hear the battle. We weren’t losing, but not making progress. The goons being taken care of was all well and good, but the machine was still pumping Earthlings out and making the city shake more and more. Nothing like the shake that almost destroyed my building, which was starting to worry me.
I was going back to the map when I realized Batman was not here anymore and Cyborg gave me a sympathetic look
- He does that, but he’s right there - He pointed to the mini-batman on the map.
- Oh, okay. Did he tell you his plan - I asked, but the shake of his head told me this was gonna be difficult. Looking at the trajectory told me that his target was the machine, he might want to study it before trying something big. But the monsters coming out of it might prove to be a challenge for the Dark Knight.
- He’s gonna run into the earth-guys - Cyborg stated. Itching to go down and help.
- Batman, seven Earthlings right ahead. You’re gonna run into them in seconds. - I said into the comm device
- Earthlings? - I heard what I thought was Flash saying and chuckle - I like it. Who is the new girl?
- Y/N - I heard Diana say - She’s a good planner, I suggest you all listen to her. And I also like Earthlings - She chuckled before being cut-off by what I can only assume was a dirt punch.
- Better than the Bat? - A voice that could only belong to Superman said, it was pretty obvious that he wanted Diana to say it. - You know he has files on all of us and the best way to take out each of us - He chuckled, I didn’t that sounded like major trust issues. But they all laughed along so I assumed this was old news and none of them believed they needed those plans.
- I don’t know if she is as paranoid! - Diana tossed it back, chuckling, everyone’s spirits seemed to be uplifted until…
big earthquake. No, not again
- Look out! - I heard flash say and looking at the map it seemed that the Bat was on top of the machine.
I could see it for a second as the building we were on started to crumble and I only had a moment to notice the map before Cyborg picked me up and flew us down. But the quake must’ve knocked something into place for us because I saw someone that was not with the League somewhat close to me and Cyborg, he had to have felt it too because I looked at him when we landed and he immediately knew what I was going to do.
- I can’t go with you. - He said maybe expecting me to wait for the others but that plan was thrown out the window when…
A roar, an actual roar
A creature literally burst through the machine, that was one problem dealt with, but now the beast was bigger than the machine and also angry, whatever Batman did solved one problem but created another. The creature started to make its way towards the city before being pushed back by superman.
- I’m going - I said, he nodded. I touched my ear - Diana, Cyborg and I think we saw the one controlling all this and I’m going after them. - she started to say no but I cut her off - You guys are busy with the monster, whoever has the remote is busy making the creature fight you guys, this is our best chance. - I got her to agree with me and I started to run to where I saw this person.
I knew I got them when I started to hear the cursing and rustling of leaves. I immediately went to a crouch and began creeping towards the sound.
- Stupid heroes - a female voice said - The boss won’t be happy when he hears that his machine was destroyed. - she said.
- Shouldn’t we call him so he can get us out of here? - Another voice said. It was a male voice and he seemed nervous. I couldn’t blame him
- Not before we make the Big Boy crush the heroes - she said, and that was all I needed to hear before pulling out my enchanted dagger and doing something I shouldn’t have done without practice.
We Athena kids have weird abilities, having a good knowledge of distance without a ruler is just one of them, it’s also the one I’m best at. Another one that I have been practicing is being able to “see” through an owl’s eyes, it’s not seeing per se but more, using the owl’s perception of the place to be aware of my surroundings. But saying I can see, while easier, would be a lie.
I also say I have been practicing but that doesn’t mean I’m good at it, it usually ends with me having a nose bleed and being very aware of some rats on the alley behind my house.
But this time it had to be different, I saw an owl on top of the tree I was hiding behind, she must have a nest there and didn’t seem to be afraid of the strange people on her turf.
I took a deep breath and concentrated, imagining myself on top of the tree and seeing the intruders on my turf, I stopped listening through my ears and concentrated on the voices of these strangers that should leave.
I became aware of three people around me, one behind my tree that gave me a sense of familiarity and two others in front of my home, they shouldn’t be here, I remembered seeing them get here after leaving a strange smoking bush. The woman, tall with red hair, seemed angry with the muscly, tall man but their fighting stopped as soon as the big Earth-Man burst through the strangest and biggest bug I’ve ever seen. The man got a box with a huge antenna out of the bush and started fiddling with it, the woman telling him to crush the heroes before my nose started bleeding. Wait, that’s not the owl’s thoughts!
My nose started bleeding and I lost my concentration but I already had everything I needed, so I got ready to jump out of my hiding place. They were alone, which was weird but I wasn’t gonna question my good luck.
As soon as I jumped out I immediately threw my magical dagger at the controller so they couldn’t make the monster hurt the heroes anymore. I jumped on top of the brute and using my weight brought him down, crossing my legs on his neck hopefully cutting his airway, he seemed surprised to be brought down by a woman smaller than in such little time but he quickly got his thoughts together and reached for my legs but using my hands I reached for his wrist and twisted it around, making him scream.
After the initial shock wore off, the red headed woman started to pull out her gun, I noticed that and started to reach for my dagger still stuck to the controller, it was about 3 meters away from me and I had no time to dislodge it from the machine. So I just threw the whole thing at her, using all my strength it hit her on her head bringing her down, but she was still not out.
The man was still trying to get off of him but his efforts had been slowing down since I broke his wrist, to speed up this process I gave him a well placed punch on the temple knocking him out.
Quickly jumping onto my feet I grabbed his… Gun? It looked like a gun but not any caliber I’ve seen. It didn’t have a magazine so I couldn’t see if it was loaded, it was decorated with the same red details on black metal that the giant machine had. I didn’t have much time to study it when the woman started to get up, a cut on her forehead from where my improvised club got her, I pointed the gun at her and said.
- Stand down Manheim - It was a guess but she seemed to be in charge and maybe Batman got her gender wrong.
She looked at me and laughed
- Ugly ain’t here, he’s back at the base - she gave a glance towards the controller with the dagger inside it.
- How do I make the giant stand down? - I asked as the battle continued behind me, I refused to take my eyes off of this woman?
- Why should I tell you? - she said with a smirk that made my blood boil.
Just as I was about to respond she reached around her back and shot at me, I ducked and the shot hit the tree behind me, taking a chunk off of it and leaving a smoking hole behind.
She took the opportunity to start running away, with me taking off right at her heels, I thought about shooting her but after seeing what this thing had done to the tree I didn’t feel comfortable shooting her without it being fatal. But then inspiration struck just as we turned a corner and I saw a very big branch on a tree, right as she ran under it I shot it, pinning her down as the branch fell on top of her, knocking her gun away from her hand.
- Now, will you tell me how to make the giant Earthling stop? - I asked her, crouching down to be at eye level
She glared me but I kept my gaze sturdy, eventually she looked down to the ground and said
- You could never control it without the device that you broke - she said in a low voice.
- Stay here, I’ll be right back - I said making my way back to the device
- Please, take your time - she yelled while I ran back
When I got to the spot where I had my fight I saw that the controller wasn’t really broken, even with the knife I threw at it, it looked like it was regenerating from the scuffle. I pulled my dagger out and it quite clearly repaired itself from the damage. The brute was still passed out but I still tied him up with some vines generously donated by my owl friend.
When I got back the red head was very surprised to see the controller in pristine shape.
- How did you… - she started but I cut her off.
- How do I make it stop? - I used my most dangerous look.
- I don’t know… - she said gulping - we were only told what buttons makes the machine and the Mineral Soldiers ‘Go’ not how to stop it - I groaned
- That’s just great! - I said a little too angrily, making her cower a little, before getting an idea - What buttons makes it go?
- Oh you press that and hold the lever in the direction you want it to go - She showed me and it was super close to how you usually drive a car in a game, better for me I guess  - What are you going to do?
- It’s a little dirty, I’m thinking it could a swim in the lake - I said smirking
- NO! You can’t! - She said, panicking a little. She started to shake under the log that pinned her down.  - My boss will kill me!
- Maybe I could have a talk with him if you tell me where he is. I’m sure he’ll listen to reason - I responded, more focused in making the giant Earthling take a dive.
- You would die before ever getting to see him. - She continued to try and get out from under her branch. - I’m gonna kill you myself as soon as I get out of here
I stopped listening to her, concentrating entirely in turning the giant to sludge. The lake became closer to the giant, the League having stopped their assault on the thing when it became clear its primary target wasn’t the city anymore.
Once it stepped into the water it very quickly started to become smaller until the lake started to overflow with all the mud and minerals that made up the Earthling.
- Y/N the Earthling just took a dive, literally - I heard Flash say - Do you know what happened?
- It’s best if you all get over here, it’ll be easier to explain - I said letting out a huge sigh while looking over at the strange woman that was still screaming about my death while making no progress on the large piece of wood on top of her.
After I finished my explanation of the events, Batman and the Flash rounded the two crooks up while Diana and I went over to check out the technological bush that hid them from both Batman and Cyborg, Superman flew around the park and city to make sure nobody was injured too much from the earthquake that destroying the machine caused.
As Diana and I approached the mechanical bush she started look at me more, before saying:
- You took down two intergang members by yourself, knocked one down, trapped the other and led the giant to its doom?
I blushed hard and shrugged
- I mean, it all happened so fast I feel like I wasn’t even in control. Just reacting to everything. I also had a little help from the owl that lives here. - I smiled shyly
- Still, you had the guts to go up against two hardened criminals and their dirt monster with only a knife and your wits? You are a true warrior. - she smiled proudly and I could see a little admiration in her eyes.
- She told her goon to kill you, all of you, I couldn’t let that happen. - I told her a little exasperated - Not when we still have a date to finish. - I finished throwing a smile.
She giggled.
- I have to say, I didn’t think this was how our date was going to go, but I’m glad you didn’t shy away from a battle, especially one so close to home.
- New York won’t be my home for long. But still, I owe it to the city - She looked like she was going to ask what I meant by that but we got to the place the two members were using to duck the League’s scanners.
It looked like a… I don’t actually know what on earth it was, never seen anything like it. The best way to describe it would be a large cube hastily hidden with branches and leaves. I had a big crack on the side and it seemed that the perp was a particularly large durian, I didn’t even know those came from trees.
I looked at Diana to see if she recognized the thing but her expression told me nothing, so I just shrugged and went in.
Going inside didn’t help with my confusion, there was a console with many buttons and levers that I was not brave enough to press. The walls were made of the same weird black metal the controller was made of and the red details were abundant, there was a cracked screen in front of the console that flickered with images of the outside. In english on a little screen on the console it said: “hull damaged turning off camouflage”. And what I assume was the same thing but in an alien language right next to it.
- We should leave - Diana said abruptly
- What! Why?
- This is apocoliptikan tech highly dangerous, you should not be here. WE should not be here. - she started to usher me out.
- What does that mean? Why are you so scared?
- It means those two are working for someone far more powerful than you can imagine, this is probably not even the full power of the machine we destroyed. It was most likely a prototype.
- A prototype capable of causing massive earthquakes? Who can do such a thing? - I asked, as we met up with Flash, Batman and Cyborg who could get near us now with the machine destroyed.
- We don’t know. - Batman said simply.
- What we know is that my tech comes from the same place, that’s why I had to stay or else we’d risk me going berserk on all of us - Cyborg explained.
- What we can do is take all of this tech to Star Labs, so they can study it - Flash said picking up the remote from the ground
- Your job here is done Y/N. You have impressed us with your wit and battle prowess. - Batman said, making me blush very hard. By the looks of the others, compliments aren’t usually given out by the Bat.
- Y-yeah rookie, you did very well in taking down both of them by yourself - Cyborg said in a stupor probably caused by Batman’s surge of compliments
- All right guys, give her space. She must be tired from having just beaten up two hardened criminals by herself - Diana said, starting to pull me away from the group.
- One more thing - Batman said walking up to us - If you ever want to get into this life, I’m sure Wonder Woman would be willing to show you the ropes. And when you’re ready, you call this number - He gave me a card that was all blank except for a phone number in the middle.
At this point, being so close to Diana and having Batman try and initiate me into the superhero life. I couldn’t trust my mouth to not say something stupid so I just nodded.
- Y/N, would you like to go to your place? - Diana whispered in my ear and I nodded again, feeling us take off and seeing the guys start to get smaller all I could think was how insane all this was.
While we were flying, I held onto Diana and stayed quiet. It was comfortable silence, just me, her, and the sounds of the city below us. I lived quite far away from Central Park so the consequences of the quakes started to disappear as we got closer to my apartment.
When we got there she put me down in front of the door and said
- You’re delivered… - She chuckled awkwardly
- Yeah, would you like to come in? - I asked without thinking - I mean… If you want to use the bathroom or something, I know you didn’t when we were in Greece nor when we were in the battle, I guess. - Nailed it!
She laughed and said
- No thank you, I’m sure I’m needed back at the site of the fight. But know that I had a very good time on our date. - She said smiling
- I-I also had a good time, I never felt like I did when I was fighting those two. The rush is…
- Nothing like you ever felt before. - She completed - I know how you feel.
- I guess this is goodbye then.
- I’ll call you tomorrow when all of this is taken care of then we can- - I cut her off by getting on my tippy toes and kissing her.
The kiss was everything I imagined and more, after getting over her initial shock she quickly reciprocated it, we felt so in sync and right with each other.
After air became too much of a necessity for both of us we parted, I stopped tip toeing and just smiled at her. She also had the biggest smile on her face. Right now, we were just hugging.
- I’m sorry, I couldn’t wait for the next date at this moment. - I said into her shoulder.
- I couldn’t either, but I didn’t know if you wanted it to be this fast. - She said, resting her chin on top of my head.
We separated and after one last peck on her lips I said
- Call me as soon as you get home.
- Yes ma’am - she replied chuckling
And with that, I went into my building and started to make my way into my apartment.
As soon as I went inside I was tackle- hugged by Ana
- Thank god you’re okay Y/N. I saw the news and when they showed Wonder Woman I just knew you were also in there. I was so scared you were gonna get hurt or worse… - She said as tears started to trickle down from her eyes.
- Hey Ana. I’m okay, there’s nothing to worry about. I’m just really tired and in dire need of a shower. How about we have dinner and tomorrow I’ll tell you everything? Okay?
She sniffled.
- Okay, I’ll put on our favorite show and we’ll rewatch that. I’m gonna make us some popcorn. You go take your shower. - She said after giving me one last hug and letting me go.
As I was getting ready to shower I noticed in my pocket the card Baman gave me, after staring at it for a while, all I could think was
what comes next?

Chapter 1
Summary: Your date with Diana goes well... Until!
To say that I was antsy to get my cast off wouldn’t be a lie but also it wouldn’t be the full truth. After she left my room it wouldn’t be for another two days before I was told that my foot was healing much faster than normal. That’s to be expected, I’m a demigod, but getting into that with the doctors would take too much time, so I just nodded and waited for them to give me the all clear to leave.
After leaving the hospital, Ana took me to my place so I could rest, shower, eat real food and wait for her text. Which took longer than I expected (A full day!). I got a text from an unsaved number asking if I was okay so we could have a date, at least that’s what I understood. It was actually written:
- I trust you’re safe. I have seen someone else in your hospital window so am I to assume you’re okay and not dead? -Diana
I chuckled while reading it, it felt like she was trying so hard not to write a letter but texting is clearly something she’s not super used to, I responded that yes I was alive and that I appreciated her text, after a bit of back and forth where she took her time writing her Hymns. We eventually settled on a date and time, you can Imagine my completely cool face and simple smile as she told me the details and not at all my embarrassing kiddie giggles as this interaction happened.
As the day approached, friday so I could go and not worry my job the day after, I tried to keep myself busy with all the reports and managing the damages the earthquake had brought upon the poor building I work at, thankfully the slides actually managed to hold most of the building up so the cleanup was easy and the fixes that were absolutely needed were made without the threat of the a bunch of rock falling on top of the workers.
- The boss wants to see you - Ana said knocking on my door, which is weird, she’s the front desk secretary. What was she doing in my office on the second floor?
I looked at my watch, two hours until I could go home, time was going too slow. Unfortunately that gave me plenty of time to see my boss.
- Alright I’ll be right over, thanks Ana. - I sigh giving her a smile
- Actually he wants to see us both, right now - She said, her face not showing much but I knew she was just as confused as me as to the why of the meeting.
- Maybe he wants to talk about the earthquake. Maybe he’ll make you my assistant seeing as you were also helping people - I say hopeful
- Maybe he’ll make YOU my assistant, for installing floaties on his building! - She smirked
- Safety slides! - I corrected her, lightly smacking her on the arm as we made our way to his office - And he knew what they were, maybe not what they looked like, but he knew!
As we walked I couldn’t help but wonder back to that night in my hospital and the way Wonder Wom- Diana… Diana sat beside me and we just talked, she praised me like I was an equal and asked ME for my number. And then she set up a date. I kept thinking of ways I could impress her, making plans and imagining every possible conversation in my mind. Maybe I should bring her flowers? Or sword polish? Maybe she’s more of a chocolate kinda girl? Everyone like chocolate ri-
- We’re here - Ana said as she put a hand on my shoulder before I was able to open my boss’s door with my nose
- Great! - I say trying to push Wonder Woman thoughts away and putting on my work face - What are you waiting for? - I say to my friend as if I didn’t just almost run into the big boss door.
As we go in I see that the quake hasn’t done much to change my boss’s absolutely hideous sense of decor, his “newton’s cradle” that keeps hitting itself perpetually is still there and is still as annoying as always, his poster with a robot in a suit saying with a little speech bubble: “A good workplace is like a well oiled machine” didn’t get turned into dust during the incident. The whole vibe of the small office on the top floor was still the same, though I did feel like it was all leaning to the left a little too much.
My boss, Mr. Vamp - if that sounds a bit too much like a certain monster to you, don’t you’re not alone and Mr. Vamp already beat you to the joke - Is actually quite the nice man, other than his terrible decoration choice, he always knew what to do for the company to flourish and never thought of himself as above us, though if I’m being honest his demeanor probably stands from the fact that his father owned the company before he did and he was raised to take this position so he most likely grew up in this place. Learning what everyone did so he could always make the best judgment call. Terrible sense of humor though, as all CEOs have. Maybe the robot was a joke? If it was, I did not get it.
- Sir, you wanted to see us? - I said. Sitting in one the chairs in front of him, Ana taking the other one
He looked at me with his brown eyes and bushy eyebrows with almost an expectation, then said:
- Yes Ms. Y/L/N, and Ms. Blönd. I wanted to see you both. - He said leaning back on his leather chair that looked to be recently cleaned, good for him. - I wanted to talk to you both about the incident that happened a few days ago…
After the meeting I felt as if I was going to explode with excitement, both from the topic that we just discussed and also because it was my time to leave!
I said a quick goodbye to my friend and went promptly home. Getting there I texted Diana to see if our plans were still up, and getting back a yes and that she would come over to pick me up in thirty minutes. Thirty minutes was plenty of time to take a shower, pick an outfit, have a little stress snack and get my mind rolling on possible conversation topics. The one thing I didn’t know was what we were doing! Diana had just said to wear comfortable clothes. But I didn’t know if we were going somewhere fancy or not so I settled on long pants, a nice enough jacket and a black and yellow t-shirt. Now all I had to do was wait…
Half an hour until 18:00, I check my phone and see she’s sent a message:
- Wait on the roof - Diana
I think she’ll do a surprise but still, you never know so I pack a little bag with a few things to my mind at ease, also grabbing the little gift I bought for her.
It’s now 18:30 and I think I can see her silhouette, coming towards the roof? Or maybe a night pigeon? No, it’s getting bigger? I think that is her! Yes! It’s her! I start to jump up and down while waving at her. When she lands next to me  I have to take a deep breath, she’ll always impress me with her height.
- You came! - I said
- I remember saying I would come. - She said with a smile before pulling me into a hug, I blushed so much from that gesture - I hope I didn’t leave you waiting for long? - She set me down before taking a step back and smiling.
- Not at all, it’s a big city and I imagine you stopped to help citizens along the way - I say with a smile, I would’ve waited until midnight but I don’t tell her that
- You wouldn’t believe how many people get in trouble when you have somewhere to be! - She sounded exasperated but chuckled - I am sorry I was late and hope I can make it up to you. - She said, reaching for my hands and holding them under her own.
- Well, that's what I get for going on a date with a superhero so good she’ll help everyone that needs her - I say trying to ease her worries - But I’m curious as to what you have planned for us Diana.
She beams at me, it’s beautiful. Her sapphire eyes glitter when she’s reminded of her purpose here. I just now notice that her black hair seems perfect even though she just flew across the city to meet me and her tiara is shining as it reflects the setting sun.
- Oh you’ll love it. I talked to some of my sisters that met other children of Athena and what I have planned will amaze you. - She says matter of factly like it was obvious or premeditated. That struck as a little cocky from her part so I decided to poke at it for a bit.
- You sound so sure, what makes you think I’m like the others? - I say with a little smirk and it seems to take her off guard.
Her eyes narrow at me and she shoots an eyebrow up before smiling and saying.
- I guess you’ll be disappointed by the field trip then. - She says, gauging my reaction, which consists basically of my eyes widening and my mouth opening to ask her a barrage of questions, but before I can she puts my hands around her neck and whispers to me - Ready to fly?
I nod furiously before the ground leaves my feet and I find myself being lifted up into the air, it’s an amazing experience. The wind in my face, Diana’s hands on my hips securing me to her body, the way the city’s lights turning on dance flicker through my eyes. But before I can get used to it all, we begin to descend and I find us in front of a broken down phone booth.
- Which of my siblings did you talk to, exactly? - I look at her confused and she laughs out loud.
- No no, this isn’t the place, this is a shortcut. - she says, opening the door and walking in. She then says something that I assume is code. - Wonder Woman, 03, location, 37.9838° N, 23.7275° E.
- That’s in Europe - I whisper, remembering some maps I had read of the world.
- Plus Y/N, 03-B. - She adds winking at me and the phone booth speaks
- Location locked, access granted, Diana Prince and Y/N - It says before the inside starts to glow and Diana pulls me inside, the phone booth isn’t super big so the only place I can comfortably sit is her lap, which makes me blush, like, a lot!
I closed my eyes as the inside glows brighter and brighter until suddenly it stopped and I found myself still on Diana’s lap, still blushing but being able to hear the faint sounds of New York anymore. I quickly get off of her and open the door to see that I’m not in New York anymore, I’m in…
- Athens - Diana completes my thought like she can read my mind - Well, the center of it, not nearly as pretty as it was in its heyday.
- H-how, How on earth did we… - I can’t think of words to say, my mind is racing through different ways that phone booth, no, wait. It’s not a phone booth, it’s a creaky door to an unsuspecting building. Must be the way the Justice League disguise their teleporters - So that must be alien technology, can’t be kryptonian since it’s in English, but it also can’t be martian because if it was we would have teles to Mars already - I start rambling theories before Diana puts a hand on my shoulder.
- You really can’t stop thinking can you? - she smiles - How about we go have our date. Then you can go back to your theories? - she suggests
- Y-yeah. W-where are going, are we flying again? - I pick up my thoughts and manage to ask her.
She gives me her gorgeous smile and says
- We can, agápi mou. - She said in Greek. Which I know some, I wanted to learn after I found out about my heritage but the crappy lessons I took never taught me this word but the way she said it gave me fuzzy feelings inside.
I put my arms around her again and we started to soar through the beautiful landscape before landing on a secluded little hill. It overlooked most of the city, the lights were mostly off, the moon was off-center in the sky so it was probably 01:00 in the morning. The time seemed perfect to see the stars, and all the constellations of my ancestors and all the ancient stories.
Another thing that I noticed was the little checkered blanket and large picnic basket beneath a tree on the top of this hill. I gasped out loud and said
- Oh my gods, a picnic under the stars in one of the most historically charged cities in the world? You really know how to get inside my little owlet heart. - I said hugging her
- I wanted to make a good impression, and I’m glad it was your heart that I got inside because your mind seems like a tougher place to get in.
If only she knew
- Don’t worry Di, you’re off to a very good start. - I said as she started pulling me under the tree to sit down
- I am glad. - She said with a genuine smile, it was more reserved than her other smiles but showed just as much, if not more, emotion. - What would you like? - She slid the basket in between us and threw it open revealing a whole bunch of food. She clearly wanted to make sure we had a good selection of sandwiches, fruits, juices, and all that kind of delicious things.
- Oh that, that and that. - I pointed to a couple of items and she put them in a little plate for me before making one for herself.
The dinner was pretty silent, but a comfortable silence that didn’t make me feel like I needed to talk.
After we were done we started stargazing, I showed her my favorite constellations. She told me of the stories of the ones she liked. Then I told her the myths attached to mine and laughed at weird hymns and poems that the ancients wrote.
When the laughter and conversation started to die down Diana got up and offered me her hand.
- Come on, we have one more stop.
- I hope it’s as fun as this stop - I smiled and took her hand before wrapping myself around her, I could get used to this, and we took off.
It didn’t take long until we got to this next stop, which left me grasping for words, this woman loves doing that to me doesn’t she? We were on top of the Parthenon, one of the most famous monuments in the world and a direct tribute to my mom.
- Holy shit. - Was all I could say, as my mind was flooded with the image of the huge building and the people below us, not many but still enough to look like ants going inside and out - Diana, you are amazing. - I managed to gasp out.
She looked pleased with herself but before she could say something she got a frown on her face, only then I noticed the ear piece she was wearing. She touched it and made an angry face, before softening when looking at me.
- I am sorry Y/N, but it seems that the culprit of the earthquakes is still loose, but we think we got them. I am going to have to go and make sure they get arrested. - She said a little sadly, but I couldn’t help but think:
- Take me with you! - I said out loud, noticing this could be my chance to really impress her and the rest of the superheroes - I’ve been researching the best way to negate, what I assume is, the vibration maker that screwed up my city and I think I came up with a solution. - But before I can go on she stops me.
- No agápi mou, I can’t let you come with me. It’s too dangerous for someone like you - Now it was my turn to cut her off.
- Someone like me? I’m just as much a demigod as you! I’m not exactly a vulnerable mortal here, I broke my leg not even a week ago and now I’m walking around in Greece. If you think you’ll have to protect me? I can assure you I’m trained with hand to hand and knives. My job as Chief of Security had me learn that to be able to defend myself. - I said a little mad, but also kinda feeling fuzzy over her trying to protect me, as I finished my speech I looked into her eyes with my best determined look. That was the most time I’ve ever spent looking into someone’s eyes and I’m so glad it was her beautiful dark blue eyes.
Eventually she relented and said:
- Fine. But you stay as far away from the dangerous parts as possible - She reached on the back her suit and pulled a beautiful silver dagger with ancient greek inscriptions along it and a leather strapped handle - And you will use this if you get attacked, it’s enchanted as to not be dulled or break.
I took the dagger along with its sheath and strapped it to my belt, not too heavy, not too light.
- Thanks for trusting me Di, now. Where did you say we were going? - I asked expectantly. I did not expect Diana to turn to me with a smile and say.
- Well, New York of course. They wouldn’t want to stay far from home now would they? - She before picking me up and flying us to the rundown building, completely forgoing our bags. But I had the feeling that they were safe.
She opened the door and said the same string of commands just changing the coordinates to New York then pulling me onto her lap. I think she was also enjoying making me a blushing mess in front of her, I can just hope I don’t come off like this to her friends.
The room started to glow and I closed my eyes taking a deep breath, saying a quiet prayer for my mom and preparing myself for a battle.

Summary: You have only seen a handful of times and have been trying to get her attention ever since, when a disaster occurs, it finally makes her look at you and talk.
A/N: This fanfic doesn't use the usual quotes to show character speaking. Instead they'll use a - to show that they are speaking and every new line of dialogue is a new paragraph. Also English isn't my first language. Enjoy! X3 <33
----------------------------------------------
Being a demigod in a world that gets invaded by aliens every other week and seems to have a new super-whatever everyday is pretty normal. Especially if you’re a child of Athena, like me…
We don’t get powers like the children of Zeus or the innate charisma of the Apollo kids, but we’re not as insufferable as the Aphrodite Spawn (Long story), we’re just… Pretty smart and can understand stuff that most can’t. When I was a kid my teachers always told my mortal mom that I was ‘gifted’, my mom knew it was always truer than what they intended, but she never told me about it. Nor about my Godly mom…
Usually when an alien attack happens or a supervillain breaks from prison I tend to help the people around me get to safety and prepare all my contingencies for if the threat gets too close, I only had to use a couple of my plans once, that was a mess! But it made me learn that Plan C and Plan T should not be anywhere near each other. Other than that I just wait until the danger is over and maybe, kinda, try to see if she is taking care of the mess.
Of all the children of Zeus, she is the best. Most caring, most humble, the prettiest, and just all around good person. I only met THE Wonder Woman once, and since then I’ve been trying to get her attention the only way a daughter of Athena like me can… I’ve been sending contingency plans to the Justice Hall in hopes one of them will make them want to talk to me and talk about it. You might say it’s pointless, Batman is the best planner in the world, and to that I say: Maybe he would like someone to delegate a few of his responsibilities to… You never know.
It was during one of my walks to my job that I felt it.
Earthquakes
No worries, those happen all the time in New York. I have nothing to fear, just a mild-
Another one, Bigger
Again, not enough to trigger my alarms, but enough to make me start walking slower… And check my bag to see if everything is with m-
A third one, and this time I fall over
Alright. That’s cause for concern, I start sprinting towards my job while grabbing all the stuff I need to start Plan E.
As I turn a corner expecting to see the street to the building I work at, I am startled back by a falling lamp post.
This is bad
As I enter the building I see Ana, the secretary, ushering people out the building.
- How is it looking? - I ask her as another earthquake begins and doesn’t seem to stop.
- There’s still people inside - She looks at me with a worried expression - You might have to bring out Plan H - She says.
Ana is my best friend and that gives her the privilege of a binder with all my plans so she can help me choose one in big stress situations. That’s still not enough because she just suggested the Bird People Protocol, but I get the gist of what she wants.
- I think you might be right - I say not wanting to get into an argument of my plans with her right now
Being a prepared Child of Athena is very helpful when you're the Chief of Security of the company. I take a deep breath, say a little prayer to my mom hoping for a little luck to get inside and not die. And go in…
The first thing I see as I go through the doors is the bottom floor is collapsing. I rush a couple people out while I make my way to my office, in there I’ll find everything to hopefully save everyone. I just have to go up two floors, the elevators are a bust and a death trap. So the stairs are gonna be my friends.
As I start going up I hit a couple buttons on the wall to trigger the slides that help people go down the stairs faster, (hey, it works for airplanes and they were cheap to install. Just a button and they self inflate).
When I open the door to the second floor I am met by so many people that are injured. I go to usher them to the slides, after finding a couple interns that are so scared but not that bad physically and instruct them on what to do once they get down and keep moving towards my office.
I begin to see my office, it's right there, just a few more moments and everything will be fi-
feel a lot of pain and a crack coming from behind me
Something fell on me. I look back and see that my leg is stuck between a stone pillar and the floor. I feel a lot of pain, but I can't stop. I've already sent everyone on this floor down and there are more above me. If I give up now I’ll die along with everyone else, that’ll not be something that a Demigod will be doing today, I tell myself.
I start to try to lift the pillar with all my strength, it’s hard, it might be impossible, I start thinking of ways to maybe leverage a piece of debris as maybe a lever when the pillar starts to float? It’s not floating, someone picked it up. But who..?
It’s her, in all her glory. She looks exactly like I remember, the black locks of hair flowing, the tiara reflecting the little light inside this crumbling building, her golden lasso on her hand and the pillar on the other, she lifting it like it doesn’t weigh anything. Her ocean blue eyes that are looking directly into my soul, her furrowed brows like she’s mad? Wait, no, she IS mad!
- What are you doing! - She says with an alarm in her tone - I was helping the people off the building when I saw you running INTO it? What are you trying to do?
The reality of the situation finally hits me and I say
- Help me. My office. I can help… - I say with difficulty as my leg starts to hurt a lot more now that the big rock was removed.
She looks at me like I just grew frog legs beneath the pillar, not understanding why I’m trying so hard to go even deeper into the crumbling building.
I say it one more time and she seems to snap out of it.
- What are we looking for? - She says as she picks me up bridal style and starts sprinting into the room. Even with a broken leg I manage to get flustered, but quickly dismiss it as I get my head back in the game
I push myself down and limp to my desk, opening a drawer and pushing a button labeled ‘U’.
Immediately the result can be felt as dozens of inflatable slides appear going from every single window sill, out of seemingly thin air, and gives everyone on the above floors a chance to take a faster way down. But not everything can go according to plan as life constantly likes to remind me. The slide on my window did not trigger so I think I’m stuck until I feel myself being picked up again and my heroine jumps out of the window landing safely with me in her arms.
After that she puts me down on a sidewalk and says
- That was incredibly smart, aren’t you the woman that always has a plan? - She says, and I’m a little upset that that’s how she remembers me.
- Yeah, that 's me. A daughter of Athena trying her best - I say before my leg starts to demand more of my attention and I whimper a little
- Oh your leg! Right! - She says before picking me up again and without all the smoke and panic I can actually feel her muscles and smell a little perfume, strawberry? Maybe Daisy? Maybe alcohol? Wait… That’s the ambulance, I’m in the ambulance getting alcohol rubbed on my leg by a paramedic, staring into her sapphire eyes and she’s saying something... Oh shit she said something!
- Sorry what? - I say trying to cool my nerves from seeing her again
- I said I’ll be right back to check on you, these quakes are not natural. The League is currently stopping the cause of it but there are still civilians trapped in building that don’t have slides that help them get down - She smiles a little and it’s the prettiest smile I have ever seen
- Yeah, it’s cool, you’re a hero and all that - Say in an effort to look casual in the face of all this
A few hours later I had to be taken to the hospital to get my leg on a cast and suspended above me on the bed that I’m laying down on. Ana made it out without any serious injuries and is keeping me company, and by company I mean she’s currently hearing me be anxious about my meeting with The Wonder Woman.
- She said she would check on me later - I say for what’s probably the thousandth time
- Yup, but when she said you were on the street getting tended to by an EMT. Now she probably has no idea where you - She keeps trying to manage my expectations.
- But look at the TV Ana, a lot of people need help, she’s probably helping them. and this is one of the only hospitals that didn’t seem to be that affected by the quake! - I reason with her.
- Why do I keep getting into arguments with you? - she says with a long sigh - Damn Owl Spawn - she says with a smirk that gets wiped by the pillow I throw on her face
- Because you live in hope that you can win! - I tease back and am promptly met by the same pillow hitting my face.
-But seriously Y/N - She says looking at me - I wouldn’t get my hopes up, she’s a superhero. She’ll probably be busy until the next morning and then she’ll probably go back to her place and sleep for a long time, maybe she’ll forget.
- I can still hope, right? - I say a little sadly to Ana who nods and pulls me into a hug
- You should get some rest Bird Brain, I’ll be here if you need anything - Ana says, going to turn off the light and heading to her chair next to my bed.
- Fine - I say as the day finally catches up to me and I fall asleep almost immediately
It’s probably not until around 4 A.M when I hear a little tapping on my hospital window, at first I think I’m dreaming because I’m quite a way high up on this hospital, I would say about 30,5 meters away from ground level. But then I hear it again
tap tap tap
Okay, that’s not a dream. I take my leg off the suspension gently so as to not hurt myself and open the curtain to see… HER! She’s flying and staring at me through the window looking a bit shy, if I were to guess.
- You’re here!? - I open the window and question a little too happy about this meeting
- I told I would be - she smiles - How are you doing? - she questions looking at my cast.
- I’m doing fine - I shrug - The drugs help with the pain and I heal quite fast.
- Right, you’re also a demigoddess - she says with a smile - So am I.
- You are? You mean you’re not a goddess? - I ask and immediately regret it. You don’t ask a pretty woman that? Are you nuts? I say to myself thinking she’ll be put off by my comment and fly away. But to my surprise, she laughs and it’s the most beautiful laugh I’ve ever heard.
- No no, I’m the daughter of Zeus with the queen of the amazons, Hippolyta - She says in a casual way like that wasn’t a huge bombshell for me to discover
- That’s so cool - I say after making myself pick my jaw from the floor - Would you… ummm… Would you like to come in? - I ask her and to my surprise she accepts
The first thing I notice when she comes in is how tall she is, I think I would’ve figured out she was an Amazon with enough time, I quickly notice that she’s probably 6,2 inches, which makes me feel fuzzy inside. The next thing I notice is how strong she is. When she went inside, she picked me up by my side and sat me down on the bed before finally touching the floor.
I realize I’m staring again and that I missed what she was saying, again! This never happens to me.
- I’m so sorry, I was distracted, what did you say? - I say hoping she doesn’t think I’m always like this.
- I just asked if she’ll wake up anytime soon. - She repeats without a hint of annoyance. Gesturing to Ana sleeping on the chair in a position that doesn’t seem that comfortable but I’m not one to judge.
- Oh Ana? No, she only wakes with her alarm or when stuff is thrown at her - I say chuckling.
There’s an awkward silence before she clears her throat and says
- I’m Diana, by the way, Diana Prince - she says putting her hand out - I just wanted to say that the fact that you went inside the collapsing building when you could’ve turned the other way and ran, really impressed me.
I blush very hard when she says that, then I shake her hand and say
- I’m Y/N Y/L/N, it really means a lot to me that you found that impressive. And just so you know, running was not an option, that building had so many contingencies inside it I needed to know that one of them worked. If I didn’t try my own plans what kind of child of wisdom would I be? - I say while shaking her hand
- Hm, does your mother require that of all her children? - She asks almost concerned
- No, not at all. She doesn’t even talk to us! - I say without thinking, this woman makes me so flustered my brain stops working I swear! - It’s more, like an itch. An itch in the back of your mind that doesn’t go away if you don’t test your contraptions
- She doesn’t talk to you? I’m sorry… - She says with sympathy on her voice
-Don’t be - I wave it off -  She’s a goddess, she probably has more important things to do. Besides, I got my smarts and that’s all I need. - I say shuffling on the bed and putting my foot back in it’s place.
She sits next to me and says
- It’s still sad that our parents don’t talk to us
I shrug before gathering my courage and finally asking
- Why’d you come to see me? I’m sure you meet people that are more interesting than me everyday and it’s not like you owe me or anything, you saved life twice today and now you’re here checking on me. Why? - I ask and she thinks for a moment before smiling and… Wait, is she blushing?
- Well it’s simple really, I was very impressed by the fact that you had a protocol in place for such an event and had the guts to go in and make sure it went accordingly that I wanted to maybe see if you were interested in… Showing me some of your plans - That last part seemed to catch her off guard, but I’ll never say no to someone willing to listen to my plans so I get very excited.
- Yeah, sure, of course! I’ll probably be out of the hospital in a couple of days, maybe less if I can convince the docs I’ll take it easy. - I agree a little too fast, but I don’t care. Diana wants to see my plans! - Here’s my number - I give her my number scribbled on a piece of paper I got in my bag - Give me a call please, and we’ll set it up. - I say a little too eager and failing miserably to be cool
- Yeah, sure - she says, accepting the paper and… She is definitely blushing! - I’ll give you a call, and we’ll set up our date… - She stops herself after she says that - I mean, like a friend date.
- I can accept a date - I blush and nod and look away, trying everything I can to not look her in those sapphire eyes
She gets up and goes to the window but before she looks at me and says.
- I hope I get to see you soon - she says before flying off into the distance
a- Same - I say before snuggling in my bed ready to dream about her but not before hearing
- I heard the whole thing! - Ana says before receiving a face full of pillow.
- We’ll talk in the morning - I say ending the conversation.
