ā ļøHUGE TW FOR TALK OF SEXUAL ASSAULT IN TV SHOWSā ļø
I havenāt seen many zombie movies or shows, I have just seen the big ones like TLOU and TWD but there seems to be a theme of the kid main characters getting SAād by the ārivalā survival groups. The obvious one is Ellie from TLOU nearly getting r*ped when she was kidnapped by the cannibal cult group which lead to her stabbing and killing her attacker.
Then we have Carl Grimes from TWD who also nearly got r*ped (in season 4 I think) which lead to his attacker also getting stabbed and killed. I donāt remember the exact details of either one of these as itās been a while since I watched anything zombie related but I just find it an odd coincidence that both kid characters experienced a very similar situation. I feel like Ellieās SA storyline was handled a lot better than Carlās though, I feel like a lot of people look past what happened to Carl. Maybe because heās a boy or just because it wasnāt really brought up much in the story.
Either way, both of these scenes had me crying for these poor little kids. They were both only like 14, itās just awful.

ok so i know literally no one could replace the og cast. but if i HAD to recast lab rats for a modern, not-a-kids-show sci-fi drama remake, here's who i'd pick.
ofc jahi d'allo winston as leo
charlie gillespie as adam
adrian greensmith as chase
sophie nelisse as bree
owen teague as marcus
dermot mulroney as donald
jdm as douglas
vanessa estelle williams as tasha
and. of course. conan stevens as krane. he's 7 foot tall and known for playing physically imposing and insane characters. literally perfect imo

SINCE LEO'S ACTOR IS GAY THIS MEANS LEO IS AT LEAST A LITTLE GAY BY PROXY. (That's not how it works but I'm still right š)
May I introduce you to my āLeo is queerā headcanon?
I like to think that Leo just calls himself āqueerā because there isnāt a label that feels right for him. He doesnāt care about gender but not in the way a pansexual would be, he likes all genders but not in the way a bisexual would and he doesnāt want to call himself āunlabelledā because that also didnāt feel right so he just calls himself queer if someone asks about his sexuality. Heās comfortable with that label and itās all encompassing to what he feels. Also, youāre right, Anon. If an actor is LGBTQ+ then i automatically think their character is too. Some may say thatās not accurate but thatās how my brain works lol

Bree could have been the best character on the show if her character and storylines were consistent. I would have loved to see her as a tomboy in the early episodes and seasons and slowly transition into being a āgirlyā girl as she started discovering herself, hanging out with girls her own age as well as the influence from real world things like tv shows, magazines and other media. Iām not opposed to Bree being a āgirlyā girl, I just think the way they did it so inconsistently was horrific.
Would have loved to see some episodes were she has a heart-to-heart with Tasha and opens up about being insecure and not fitting in with the other girls. It would have been great to see Tasha helping her out, showing her different teen magazines and taking her shopping to pick out things she would like to wear and teaching her about girlhood since she was the only girl in her family for a very long time with no social influence. Bree could have been such a good character if the writers knew what they were doing. I think the only consistent character in the entire show was Tasha and Leo, sometimes Adam and Chase too but their characters got messed around with a lot too (especially in Bionic Island and Elite Force)
Lab Rats got Breeās character totally wrong like after the first eight episodes. She was raised in a basement with all boys and as someone with an older brother who basically raised me and my older sister, it definitely rubs off on you. Wrestling with your best friends, throwing each other around, loogie contests at the river and just roughhousing in general. Where is āraised around boysā Bree? Where is āstruggling to fit in with girls your own age because you were raised only with boysā Bree?

Todayās sketch turned into a tiny comic about crows. I think Iām going to try making small comics every day just to get accustomed to the process of making them. I really enjoyed this entire drawing, and I want to do more comics ANYWAY, so it seems like the logical thing to do. Crows do exhibit this sort of behavior. They will remember peopleās faces or traits about them, and will tell other crows if that person treats them poorly.

Same dude the imposter syndrome is real
This is a HC Iāve had for the longest time, I made a whole list of different HCs based around just this single one. Chase Davenport has Touretteās Syndrome (inspired by me ofc)
When he first started having tics, Davenport thought he was glitching and did like a million tests to try and figure out how to stop the glitches. Inevitably he realised it wasnāt a bionic related issue and after several months of tests, decided to try and find out what was wrong with his human side (human side of superhuman if you get what I mean) since he was so focused on the bionic side. Eventually, a year or two later of persistent tics and symptoms, they realised Chase has Touretteās.
Personally with this HC, I think it has to do with the fact that Chase has bionics in his brain and something went wrong during his development to cause it. Anyway, this HC is very self indulgent lmao
Iād love to know your thoughts or what you would add on to it!
I was gonna add that in the part in his āCould be diagnosed withā section because tics are very interesting to which sounds weird to some, sorry if it does sound weird/strange to you though, but I find them interesting because anything could set them off: sounds, movement, etc.
Chase with Touretteās makes a lot of sense actually and I donāt see it being talked about enough, like yeah we can say his a trans autistic masc but there other things to him as well. Thereās nothing wrong with adding a couple more to him along with his siblings, like Bree for example she might be so bent that she might have ānervousā tics which comes from anxiety. Being the only girl in the environment that is filled with young men/boys is pretty nerve wracking to be around (coming from experience lol), so she might feel the prove herself even more.
To add to your point of Chaseās Touretteās being from his bionic what if itās genetic? Then the point which parent or distant relative he got it from. I donāt argue with the idea that couldāve been his bionic but the thought of it being also genetic intrigues me.

I was imagining he was a bit younger (before integrating into normal society) since I feel like someone like Tasha or Leo would have suggested the idea of TS or a tic disorder before Davenport spent months trying to figure out what was making him āglitchā
But weāre making it up as we go lol I love HCs like this. It could have been getting hurt during some form of training exercise that triggered it, like the VR training simulator or something. Maybe a big argument with his siblings and/or Davenport. I love your thoughts on this! All of your points make so much sense!

It could be a mix of genetic and bionic. It could have been part of his brain anyway due to genetics but the bionics trigger it. From all the research I have done on TS (as well as my own experiences with it) the tics themselves initially get triggered by something. Some people just develop them anyway, regardless of any trauma or any related issue but usually they will be triggered by a traumatic event. It has to be a part of your brain and genetic makeup anyway, it canāt just come from nowhere but TS symptoms can be triggered into action by an outside source like trauma.
TS is your brain misfiring signals to your body. So your brain telling your body to make a movement or sound even though you donāt need to. Thatās basically what tics are in a simple explanation. For me, my tics were triggered by a traumatic event in my family but TS is genetic for me as my dad also had tics (not diagnosed, just something I have observed) so I already had the issue within my brain, it just didnāt get triggered until the trauma. I know a handful of people in the TS community with a similar experience so I def think for Chase it would be a mix of his genetics and his bionics. His brain already had the TS issue but it was triggered when his bionics were activated. I hope that makes sense lol

Iām a firm believer that Adam collects random things and gifts them to people. Heās like a bird āooh shinyā and picks it up lol
Chase headcanon
He can hear peopleās heartbeats from miles away if heās familiar enough with them. He can always hear Adam, Bree and Leoās heartbeats so when they move to Centium City, he feels really weird missing two of the heartbeats that he used to always hear.
Chase angsty headcanons are my favorite thing in the world!
Something to follow that up by: Chase travels close to Mission Creekās tunneling system to the island just to hear them/their heartbeats. Or that he sneaks off to the island to hear them/be in their presence.

He loves his brothers so much and he wonāt say it out loud but he misses them more than anything. Especially Adam. Imagine spending your whole life with someone, never seeing anybody except for them ever since you were a baby and then all of a sudden being taken away from them. I feel like we (the LR fandom) donāt talk about the psychological damages that could have on someone.
