My type
My “type” of guy is not described by looks. But more so by personality and how we interact.
I once pondered to someone if I should change my type. Because my so called type of guy was usually is smart, dedicated to their career and more interested in updating me about them than asking me how I was. To which I usually just give them random updates without them asking. Not that my life is all that exciting so the updates are usually random.
The person I was having this discussion with responded with: if I had to adjust my type, then I will be settling.
Fair point. But still, sometimes I’d like to be asked how my day is going or have someone do something randomly nice for me. I’ve bought so many presents “just because” and flown so many miles for guys.
Will “my type” ever do the same for me in return? Or should I just change “my type” to someone who does nice things and I am not stimulated by them intellectually at all?

The harems and I
I often wonder what is it about me that has guys always telling me about their harem of girls they’re dating.
Once one guy told me about his excel doc of girls he’s slept with. Others tell me about texts, dates or flirts with or gushes about other girls in front of me. Even though I may act cool with it, it makes me wonder why we’re even spending time together.
Ok I kind of get it.
On one hand its good to be honest with people you’re seeing about what your up (or in) to and I can tell myself that if they’re like that I should be too. On the other hand… I don’t want to know about my “competition”. Why do I have to compete for a guys attention anyway?
This is why I loathe dating and rarely go on dates/ask a guy out. Because everytime I do and start liking the guy, I realise I'm just another girl to him. Sigh.
Here’s hoping one day I don’t have to compete for a guys attention. But given my history, I will probably forever date guys who need attention from multiple girls. After all ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ taught us that we’re usually the rule, not the exception.
What an awful thought.

Never go on a 10pm coffee date
Because when you’re in the suburbs you end up at McDonald’s McCafe, followed by a visit to a 24 hour Kmart where the guy proceeds to buy $10 jeans for himself. Meanwhile I’m snapchatting my boredom to friends.

Single and not ready to mingle
I’ve been single again for a while now, it was lovely being in a relationship with my ex. But cue typical male behavior that saw it all end in flames.
But bygones.
I’ve been trying to date in the last month or three and man online dating has not changed, except now there are such phrases as #NetflxAndChill, which basically means come over and we can pretend to watch movies until we fck. Sigh.
Anyway I end up on a date with this guy, we get a coffee, end up at some bar where he tries to ply me with alcohol. Then he tries to lure me to his backseat so he can make a move. Dude, are we like 18? Needless to say nothing happened.
