Vax´ildan X Keyleth
I had to get them out of my system. I watched The Legend of Vox Machina for its fantastic art and animation. I didn't care much about the characters, and Keyleth was the only one I kind of liked. I didn't think Vax was a good match for her because, in the animated series, he seemed overly attached to his sister and didn't do anything special for Keyleth.
So, I decided to read up on their story. As a sucker for tragedy, I ended up shipping them! It's a shame the animated series couldn't do their arc justice due to time constraints.
Death in DnD seems like a joke. When death isn't absolute, life loses its preciousness. I still remember the shock I felt when Drizzt Do'Urden's wife was reincarnated after he broke up with his lover. What kind of romance arc is that? Ugh.
In contrast, Vax and Keyleth had a more bitter-sweet romance, featuring undying love and years of pining, which only can be found in fantasy romance.
Of course, I feel sorry for poor Keyleth.

There's a whole lot to love about Gale, but one of those things is no matter what trauma you have been through prior to meeting him, if you tell him, he will never think you're damaged goods. It just makes you more of a badass to him, and he'll tell you that over and over. I just know this to be true in my heart.

This is the guy who would still stick by you if you turned into a Mind Flayer, after all . And not only would he love you, but he would marry you in a public ceremony!
There is nothing about you that could ever embarrass him. There is nothing from your past that could scare him away. You were there for him when he was at his most vulnerable; you listened as he opened his heart to you and confessed all of his perceived sins; you accepted him, no matter what — you chose him, you showed him a way out.
He thought of himself as damaged goods — an Archmage fallen from a great height, a man discarded by his lover and ordered to die — and yet he found no judgment in your embrace. Only love.
And so he will be there for you too. He will return your love and your trust a thousand times over. He will be there to console you when you’re sad, and help you shoulder your burdens whenever they threaten to crush you.
