Dodge County. Eastman, Georgia. This is one of the few monuments that is listed with the National Register of Historic Places. The mausoleum depicts Mr and Mrs AG Williamson and their nephew. Almost all of the monuments I have found have been in municipal or private cemeteries, not directly tied to a religious organization. Sometimes I am surprised when I do find them there. Restoration work is important, and it is often done by a few dedicated people. Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan became the passion project of one very dedicated woman named Elizabeth Beers. The Myron Hinson monument in Adel, Georgia (Cook County) is one of the beautifully detailed in the state of Georgia. He was only four years when he passed. The details of the face make me wonder if it is a death mask.
