Tell me about the "You Make Me Blue" 👀
Ok, here's all I've got for this one.
Inspired by Radio Company's You Make Me Blue, particularly, "you turned my heart into a vacancy".
Dean's been on the road for days. He finally wrapped up the job he was working, and he's exhausted.
He knows there's no way he'll make it back to the bunker tonight. So when he sees a hotel up the highway, he slows to pull into the parking lot.
He sits for a minute, slumped in his seat, too tired to move.
Eventually he convinces himself that a bed, any bed, will be better than Baby's front seat. He's not as young as he used to be, he misses his memory foam every night he's away from it.
As he opens the door to climb out of Baby, he finally looks at the sign - The Broken Angel Hotel - there's a heart with an angel blade driven through it as the logo.
Dean almost settles back into Baby and just leaves. Almost, instead he steels himself and walks into the front office.
It's going to be a long night.

The other reason I fucking love Mary Winchester is how far out of the park Jensen Ross Ackles hits it EVERY TIME he has to play Dean's mom-related pain. It really brings home for me what a fully-realised character, and like, whole-ass human being Dean is, and makes me feel every fucking year of Dean's motherless life.
Jensen just KILLS IT.
