Horror Poem.
Your eyes are as vast as the oceans crashing behind those beautiful blue irises as you stare up at me now, mesmerized, unblinking, unspoken;
Face so flushed and pink I could swear an artist had swept his brush across your cheeks, and oh how it contrasted in stark against your porcelain complexion.
The way your lips worked in silence, uttering, muttering, starting and stopping in deliberation. Your struggle to find the words tantalized my walls of self control that had since now remained unbroken;
Why, my love, why? Why had your heart swayed, what we had was wonderful, bountiful, once in a lifetime, cherishable. The very visage of perfection.
It didn’t have to be this way, nothing between up struggled or frayed. The love we had between us wasn’t broken or tried, it was fine;
Nothing can take you from me, I told you this before. But now you gaze up at me as if you had forgotten, so allow me to remind you that you are mine.
It didn’t have to be this way, how you flail and gasp, eyes gaping in terror and shock with my hands locked tight around your neck;
All you had to do was stay true and love me as I did you, hold me close and whisper what had I done wrong. You told me I was obsessive and scary? That just doesn’t check.
Now you struggle to whisper your apology but, my love I’m afraid that now it is far too late;
If you had loved me, truly loved me, we could have started this over on a fresh new slate.
But to wonder and stray from my heart to another’s hurt me more than I could ever say;
Now, just as you had done with my heart, I will strangle and smother whatever love I had for you away.
I’m sorry, my love, as the light fades behind your eyes, that it had to be this way, I really wish we could have tried;
I just can not forgive what you have done, you snuck behind my back, you gossiped, you lied.
It didn’t have to be this way, now as you slip into the darkness and the life in your eyes fade;
Maybe next time, when you reawake for this third time, it will be better, a love truly sculpted and made.

Dream interpreters are so rude; Saying to dream of Werewolves means you don't like how you look? Have you ever thought that maybe I just have a seriously sick kink? Like damn.

Happy Easter, everyone. Remember, today is not the day of Jesus Christ's resurrection, it's the day of celebrating spring, rebirth, fertility, and feasting. Thank the Spring Goddess, Ostara and plant your seeds and feast on fruits and veggies.

My well-over 40 year old ex coworker who had a history of drug and alcohol abuse once said to me, "I could beat you in that race, I played football in Highschool". And immediately I was like. "You mean 20 plus years, a history of rehab and bed rotting, and a missing hairline ago?...no...no you couldn't". That just cracks me up, broham chill.

Horror Short Story. Jakob x Ballga. Part 1.
He’s out there, Jakob could feel those eyes on him; Jagged slots jabbed into the eyeholes of a tinfoil mask obscuring sinister features that, even from here, Jakob could feel smiling up at him.
Not even at the second floor of his city apartment had he ever been safe from that stare drilling into him from the sidewalk across the street, just under one of the few working street lamps casting an ominous glow over the dark pavement and hardly illuminating the stalking figure.
Every night since his trip into the woods Jakob had felt a heavy presence looming just outside of his peripheral, he had nearly given himself whiplash in his frantic attempts to catch a straight-on view of this man. Glancing over his shoulder with every few steps he took hurriedly down the street for the first few days, damn him for taking the night shift hours. The unrelenting paranoia ate away at him, he was reluctant to even go home from work on some days. Draining the last of his dignity as he’d become so desperate as to run to and from work just praying each night wouldn’t be the night that he inevitably faced this thing head on.This could only go on for so long, and it had quickly spiraled from there; A dark, worming pressure had clawed its way into the back of his head during daylight hours too, the only hours that he had thought himself safe and could rest from nights of unbridled fear.
Jakob had convinced himself that he was going crazy. All of this the aching throb pounding at the back of his head, the ghastly paranoid schizophrenic behavior, and sickening thoughts brandishing his frontal cortex now were all just from some sort of overworked stress response, right? Because there was no way he had been followed home and stalked every night since, by a masked man who he was fairly certain he had witnessed ritualistically murdering and burying a man who could have been Jakob’s brother gauging by appearance.
Now, he stood here staring back at the veiled silhouette with the glint of silver foil winking up at him and that paranoia,all of that fear and uncertainty slipping away. Leaving his berated, taunted, and worn out mental state that had been battered and torn apart bit by bit by that voice that had begun creeping into every thought he had. Jakob no longer knew his own voice, it had been taken over by what, even now, whispered to him and purred sweet nothings of grandeur promises that had begun to break down his walls.
Who was this masked man? Why was he following him? Who was…who was, what’s his name again? It had started off gradually, forgetting where he had left his things, forgetting to set his nightly alarm, even forgetting what day it was. It had only begun to truly snowball when the nightmares started terrorizing him every night, plaguing him with the visage of the masked man, a good foot and a half taller than him standing over his bed grinning down at him. Jakob would wake up to shivering cold sweats and gagging with a hoarse voice every time the nightmarish figure would reach out and clasp a gloved hand over his mouth and secure the other hand around his throat. It had started driving him crazy with the lack of sleep, and little to no support in his growing aleness when offered nothing but a lackadaisical tone from his friends and even his Doctor who all dismissed his complaints with the diagnosis of stress and anxiety from taking on extra hours and his Mother’s recent death.
But Jakob knew better; He knew better as he held the man’s gaze, filling the chilly Autumn air between them with the palpable unspoken acknowledgement that Jakob knew. He knew better now; This man was not here to follow him, stalk him, or kill him. The masked man was not here to watch until Jakob’s sanity withered into nothing. No, no, he was here with the answers that Jakob had been long since praying for, he had been the light to all of his silent pleas only spoken aloud to the universe in times of dire distress. Not even his closest friends knew of Jakob’s desperate prayers to whoever…or whatever could hear him.
That night in the woods, Jakob had gone out in search of his own death and had had the bottle of pills in hand, ready to swallow himself into a pit of numb nothingness; And he had. Hadn’t he? Jakob swore he recalled opening the bottle and…
Jakob’s gaze lifted from the neon pink light pooling out onto the nightly street from the shoppe’s window just beneath his apartment, and green eyes grew wide into foresty saucers as they landed back on the man grinning back at him: It suddenly all became clear to him. This had all been a test hadn’t it? A test of Jakob’s loyalty to the promise he had spoken to the masked man that night.
Having been laid out in the cold,plush grass for what felt like eternity as his mind waned into the horizon of darkness when, from the spirited shade watching him from the thick canopy above, a voice spoke to him. A voice of unfurling ribbon as deep and dark as the end that was encapsulating him.
“Hello, Jakob...” The kindness in his voice swaddled Jakob’s worries and pushed them far, far away; Shadows shifted and swirled away like withering rays of night as the figure showed himself now, kneeling beside Jakob’s paralyzed body. “I have heard your prayers, and only now you have come to me. Now I can help you…” Coasting the back of gloved knuckles over the dying man’s cheek, the figure comforted the young bartender and showed him a nurturing warmth that he hadn’t felt for a long, cold year. “I have a special place for those who have suffered, all you need to do is show me that you will stay by me and give me what has been taken from you”. A smile crept up into his eyes.
Such beautiful words they had been, and such a reassuring nostalgia that had spread through his chilling core. He was almost gone entirely from this world as his fumbling words hardly whispered off his lips. “I promise..”.
“Good. Call me Ballga, and I will be with you no matter where you go. Now wake up”.
Present clarity tore him from the reminiscing of that beautiful night and it was like the changing of the seasons. Fear had morphed into that warm familiarity of the masked figure’s gaze.
Jakob’s lips pulled up into a beaming smile that could have lit up the dimly lit room with nothing but the red light of his glowing neon sign hung up above his bed. Spilling scarlet light across his bedroom, only darkening the splotches and splatters of crimson freckling his walls and drowning the once grey carpet in oceans of ichor. The body of one of his close friends laid mangled and pin-cushioned to the floor with an array of knives, a small hatchet, and scissors skewering him into place. He was unrecognizable with the damage done to his face with the friendly blunt side of the hatchet.
Jakob had invited him over just an hour prior before the familiar presence looming over him had finally caused him to snap. It had all been a blur before he knew what he was doing, and now Jakob knew why he had done what he’d done. He remembered; this was the first ritual in his promise to the masked man.
Great euphoria washed over him in a flood of sweet release from any previous traumas or guilt that had weighed him down and dragged him through the mud this passing year; Nothing but the voice of the man he stared at now occupied every nick and corner of his skull.
Moving from his spot by the window, Jakob skipped to the mangled corpse and yanked the hatchet free from the man’s ribcage with a sickening crack and wasted no time in bringing it down for what would have been the countless time this hour. Hack after hack, it only took a few chops before a heavy thump of the deceased's head rolled to the floor and Jakob plucked it from the pool of blood squelching beneath his bare feet by the short blonde hair.
Hatchet and head in hand, he pranced his way down the hall, out his front door, and down the apartment stairwell to the nipply outdoors. He would finally be free and he would be at Ballga’s side.
As soon as his feet hit cold concrete, Jakob took off in the direction in which he had seen the masked man just a minute prior and..where was he? His head spun left, then right, turning on his heels in search of the looming presence.
Where was he? Jakob’s heart began to pick up in pace and his vision had begun to spin and grow fuzzy. Hands shaking and face tingling, his panic had started to catch up with him now.
“No…no no no…” From the depths of his approaching meltdown a blood curdling scream reached his ears and brought his attention to a woman quickly retreating in horror at the sight of him. She already had her phone to her ear and was pleading with the law enforcement operator.
Jakob froze, that’s all he could do, stand there frozen as his world started to fall apart for the second time.
“Ballga?...” His voice trembled out with nothing but the wind to respond with freezing licks across his skin and tumbling his hair over watering eyes. “Ballga!” Jakob shouted, simultaneously breaking into full sobs as the hatchet and head fell from his hands and he stumbled, nearly losing his footing. What had he done!? Looking down at his blood soaked hands his fingers tingled and his lips grew numb. “BALLGA!” He screamed now and raised his head as he could only watch from his spot of frozen terror as the wailing sirens headed straight for him painting him in flashes of red, white, and blue.
This couldn’t be happening, he knew Ballga was real, he’d seen him, heard him! That’s all he could think as a duo of police cruisers screeched to a halt on either side of him and a third came only feet from the young man’s body convulsing with his gasping sobs and rivers of tears blurring the barrage of strobing colors.
“Ballga...you promised” Jakob whispered before a shot rang out and everything went black.
