so i keep seeing wednesday and enid edits everywhere. it recently made me think about how growing up and even now with different shows queer audiences ship two characters who obviously have chemistry, but make one or both of them have love interests of the opposite sex so a lot of these ships would never actually be together. i haven’t watched wednesday yet, but jenna and emma obviously have a lot of chemistry and when i think about all the other shows with ships like this it makes me so SAD and it makes me even sadder when cast members (not jenna and emma) of shows with ships like that say they ship the characters in a jokey manner. why does it have to be a joke??? is it so outlandish for queer people to have cute, silly, fantastical love stories?? it makes me even MORE sad when i think about the shows this year especially that killed their queer main characters and sort of implied that being queer is bad or only temporary and queer people aren’t allowed happy endings. im genuinely so sick of it and i’m so grateful for shows that do show queer people in cute situations with happy endings. we need more shows like that… that don’t get cancelled.
