(232) While the Lost Light is docked on a planet mostly populated by feral cats (both an ecological constant and an absolute menace to the local wildlife), Brainstorm causes a laboratory accident on a spectacular scale, during which Perceptor disappears. He might have accidentally erased him from the timeline. Unclear.
Brainstorm also discovers that a curiously clever feral cat has made its home under the fume hood, but he's not paying much attention to that right now because he is a little more worried that he might have obliterated his lab partner. Which would be... bad.
The cat is, of course, Perceptor, whose being has been merged with the nearest creature — a wayward feral cat. Unfortunately Brainstorm is used to losing people in ways he can't actually remedy, and he is so guilty and distraught about the accident that it's getting actually kind of hard for Preceptor to watch.
Perceptor really needs to notify Brainstorm, because he's the one with the expertise to screw up their experiment in exactly the same way again! But he takes all day (and many kitty communication attempts) to figure it out.

so, like... what is protoform? there's the outer plating, of course, the big, shaped, designed pieces of armor that flare with emotions or to vent heat, where kibble is attached, etc. then there's a more subtle layer of plating covering the limbs and torso and general bodily area, which also flares like above but would be harder for a human to notice, and then there's like.. the wiring? the electrical components? and then protoform, which i can only assume is like a protective mesh-and-silicon layer to protect the organs and the spark chamber, but if plating can move aside and reveal the spark chamber, then i guess it would be outside the protoform, unless protoform can be moved as well, which only begs the questions why they have a random squishy layer in between all those sheets of metal, which could be for sticky interfacing purposes but at the same time wouldnt it just be in that small area, unless the wiring is underneath it, but then it couldnt really be touched, unless its like chain mail and is riddled with holes, but that wouldnt be very effective, unless armor is merely added on and became normal because of the war, which would leave them without bones, but would make sense with tfa, but besides tfa the metal is way more prominent than the protoform and wiring and like machine organs can be seen beneath it, so would protoform be under all that or simply not present in like the bay movie models, but then-

Previous Ratchet now colored. Be warned, really basic skills going on here! I promise it will get better soon.
For now I want focus on figure drawing. Gonna try to work on lots of sketches before going all the way through a whole finished work for a while.

beautifully somber poster of Starscream with the words "knowledge is power" over his head, equally somber and beautiful poster of Thundercracker with the words "and power corrupts" attatched beneath it, crudely drawn picture of Skywarp holding a thumbs-up with the words "so, stay stupid!" attatched below that

okay realistically i know they mean they started organizing the coup after it took off again but do you think there was a group of people who left the LL last minute before it left cybertron again who just had to go “oh right. the coup.” when they saw the rodsquads dying message beamed to cybertron. they just had to sit there awkwardly and pretend they didn’t know about it like
