I always feel kind of weird about white people adopting black children because you know, White PeopleTM, and then I feel bad because I’m like, well it seems wrong to potentially deprive a child of a loving family because that family happens to be white. Then I see shit like this and I’m like, never mind, I was right, we shouldn’t be allowed to adopt non-white children.
When you are making Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest look like the best mother ever.
I mean, you know things are fucked if even the RNC thought it was too racist for air.

SPOILER WARNING for TUA season two
Ben fans after season 1 of TUA: I love Ben but he’s in the background too much, just tagging along with Klaus, trying to stop him from doing stupid things, I want to see more of his character.
Me: Agreed.
Ben fans after he “dies” in season 2: Ugh. Ben still exists only to serve others, to make sacrifices, he has no real autonomy.
Me: Okay, I don’t totally agree but I see where you’re coming from.
Ben fans at the end of season 2, when it’s revealed that Ben lives in the alternate timeline and is clearly going to exist entirely separate from Klaus and the other siblings: Oh my god no! Bring back the old, nice, self-sacrificing Ben who was stuck being dead! This one seems like an asshole!

Five: Thank God. I was by myself for 45 years and it was awful. Let’s do this.
Allison: Already working on a plan.
Klaus: I changed my mind. I’m out.
Five: What?
Klaus: Sorry... do I have to go?
Five/Ben: Yes!
Diego: Who do I get to fight?
Luther: Wait, why do you get to be the leader?
Five: Because I am the leader.
Luther: Can I fight you on that?
Five: We need to be a team. Where did Diego go?
Diego: I work alone.
Vanya: Have you ever tried talking to whoever’s going to destroy the world? Maybe they just need to feel heard.
Klaus: So after this fight does anyone want to go to Waffle House?
Luther: Ooh, that sounds great.
Five: Luther, don’t encourage him.
Klaus: Dude, chill out.
Vanya: That’s not going to be necessary because I already made sandwiches!
Allison: I forgot to ask - what does it mean to protect time and space?
Diego: Y’all couldn’t handle me.
Luther: I should be the leader.
Five: Well, you’re not. Allison, what’s the plan?
Allison: I’ve worked out a 14 page branching decision tree for our offensive strategy.
Five: That’s a lot. How does my uniform look?
Klaus: Looking good from here.
Five: All right. Let’s go!
Ben: I got the culprit.
Five: What?
Ben: Yeah, y’all were taking too long and I wanted to get something done for once.
Klaus: So, Waffle House?
Luther: Yes!
Vanya: I made sandwiches!

INTERSEX
What is intersex?
At its most basic level intersex is any aspect of bimodal sex development that is different from expected perisex development. (Perisex refers to people who are not intersex)
CW: I'm going to use a lot of clinical language so that hopefully perisex people and people who are wondering if they themselves might be intersex will be better able to follow.

What do we mean by "sex"?
Sex is made up of a range of different factors. Factors like chromosomes, sex hormones, your bodies response or lack of response to certain hormones, genes and epigenetics. All of these factors come together to make your sex.

What makes somebody intersex?
Put simply, any notable divergence from perisex development is intersex.
-Chromosomes/Karyotype
In highscool you probably learned that XX chromosomes make a "female" and XY makes a "male". It's more complicated than that.
But there are all sorts of combinations you could have. There is XX, XY, XXX, XXY, XYY, XO.
You might even have a fragmentary autosome in your karyotype like me. Sometimes when a lot of data is missing the negative space will be filled by duplicating data from the intact autosome. Depending on what is missing and what is duplicated, sexual development can be significantly varied.
-Hormones
A difference in the production of sex hormones can make you intersex.
PCOS is intersex because high naturally occurring levels of androgens are not expected of a 46XX genotype. The elevated levels of these sex hormones cause the individual to develop associated seconday sex characteristics such as facial hair. More info in this link.
This is also true for people who's bodies do not produce sex hormones at effective levels. Pituitary hypo-productivity might be responsible, it might not, but if you couldn't start puberty without medical assistance then you're intersex.
Maybe you don't respond to some sex hormones. If you are 46XY with the associated expected hormone levels but are androgen insensitive, your development will not include the effects of those masculinising hormones. That makes you intersex.
There are too many examples to list, but this should give you the idea.
-Genetics/Epigenetics
Genes and importantly how/if they are expressed is a factor too.
You might have a Karyotype of 46XX and have an expressed SRY gene/protein. This results in "masculine" fetal development and external genitalia, and is sometimes referred to as "XX male"
The inverse is also true, 46XY with an absent or suppressed SRY gene/protein results in "feminine" fetal development and external genitalia.
Again, this is a topic that could go on forever, but genetic elements that have caused sexual development that is different to the perisex expectation of sexual development makes you intersex.

Does being intersex make you transgender?
No. There are a lot of ways that intersex experiences intersect with trans experiences. And intersex people are absolutely justified in identifying with the trans label for any number of personal reasons. You can be intersex and trans.

Can I call myself intersex?
Nobody can decide to become intersex, it's one of those things that just is or isn't. But your doctor probably won't use the term intersex, it's not specific enough so they'll say Klinefelters or hypo- androgen or a thousand other things. So if you read this post and you go "hey, that's me" then go ahead and say "I'm intersex".

Perisex people are encouraged to share.
And a brief message to people who feel entitled to attack others for questioning their assumed perisex status. DON'T. You're not helping us, you're hurting us.
If somebody is saying "I think I might be intersex, I'm not sure" then they definitely have reasons for that. And you have no right to ask them, a person who is trying to make sense of their body, to defend themself when they have only just begun to understand it themself.
This especially goes for transmeds and TERFs. It's not your job to police this.

I am so baffled, disheartened and angry that whenever a black person is a victim of violence inflicted by a white person, media outlets and law enforcement rush to find and present excuses for it. I don’t care if he shoplifted three years ago, and I don’t care if it turns out he was responsible for burglaries in the neighbourhood in which he was shot and killed... you don’t fire up a shotgun and go after someone because they’re hanging around a construction site and a pistol went missing from your car two months ago. Good God. Justifying what these two white men did is the equivalent of saying that shoplifters and burglars deserve capital punishment. It really seems to come down to white people wanting black people dead and finding the flimsiest defences for acting on that.

Put a finger down if when you were in high school you were really good friends with this guy and he invited you over to his new apartment that his dad just got him and you guys were hanging out and it was really cold in there so you asked him, “hey, could you please turn up the heat?” And he just straight up says “no”. So you’re like okay, you’re weird, whatever. Um... and then a little bit later you go to the bathroom and you realize, hmm he doesn’t have a shower curtain in his bathroom. Hmm this is kind of weird; how does he keep water from getting everywhere? Whatever, he’s weird. I don’t care. And then um, uh, he, uh - his door to his bedroom is always closed so you’re like that’s weird, whatever, some people like their privacy. And then you leave and uh a couple days go by and you see him on Snapchat buying really expensive bottles and drinking with his brother. And then um, um nobody had heard or seen from his dad in a few days so his mom calls the police to do a wellness check and they discover that he murdered his dad, wrapped him in a shower curtain, put his body underneath a box spring in his bedroom, shut the door, turned the heat down super low, and was still having people over to party with him and you were in the house with his dad’s dead body and now you have PTSD really bad.

Anyway, daily reminder from a culturally isolated Romani person.
Gypsy does not mean wanderer.
It literally means ‘people from egypt’ or similar, as europeans believed Romani people were from Egypt. It has become known similar to nomad due to how our ancestors have been forced to be nomadic due to racism and ostracization, but it is a SLUR.
Romani people are STILL being forcibly sterilized.
Romani people are STILL being forced into ghettos.
Romani people are still facing violence and danger in countless European countries- and recently, I’ve seen the beginnings of the extremes in the United States.
Have a little fucking respect and DON’T USE A SLUR THAT’S BEEN USED FOR CENTURIES AGAINST US.
And for the love of whatever’s up there, ESPECIALLY do not use it to describe your witchcraft. It is playing on the ‘magic gypsy’ trope, and is EXTREMELY insulting.

Maybe what I’m getting at is that I think people have sort of passively adopted the idea that you must get consent from someone in order to be attracted to them, and if you experience attraction without consent, you are behaving badly and doing something wrong.
Attraction isn’t something you can switch on or off and it isn’t a set of behaviors or actions, it’s just an internal fact of the brain. You can be attracted to someone without making it their problem or making them aware of it at all. You don’t have to stare or comment or ask for their number or follow them home or assault them—those are actions you can refrain from, but attraction itself is just… there.
