TS3 Custom Interaction Tutorial
I've just finished posting my new tutorial on MTS here! The tutorial shows how to make a custom interaction from start to finish for sims to wave at other sims, so hopefully it should be easy to follow and maybe you can become a new script modder! 😄

I may have been somewhat inspired by a WIP mod by @monocodoll for this release (well, at least in name). Go check it out!
In the spirit of giving this game more basics, I decided to make a Baja Jacket, colloquially known as a "drug rug". There's one for both frames, and it should have the typical morphs.
INFORMATION:
This download has five recolorable presets, which you can look at under the cut. Each pattern is fully recolorable, and if you want to get really fancy with it I'm sure you could add patterns inside the patterns. It is recolorable by pattern rather than by region. The upside to doing it this way, in my opinion, is that it adds dimension to the item where it would otherwise get washed out. I'm working on a re-make of my flannel with this exact method in mind in the future btw :)
Also one warning: while the size morphs work fine, the strings might get a bit swallowed up if you have the breast slider to the maximum. Set to the minimum it looks fine.
CREDITS:
Frankenmesh of two EA hoodies and drawstrings from this hoodie converted by @kotajose
Texture is an edit I made of EA's woven pattern

Might try to play around with changing the theme at some point today. Web/graphic design is the opposite of a passion for me, but I've gotta figure out how to make this blog more aesthetically pleasing lol

Edit: this has been sitting in my drafts for a while because I am a consistent forgetter

Happy Belated Halloween!
Tumblr media
(Since I think I forgot this last time I made a download with a pose, I'm pretty sure pose credits go to noelyely)
(Also: I really hope the image quality won't turn out so crunchy for you guys, but for some reason Tumblr is really making the details blurry. Any other creators know how to fix this? Is it actually fine??)
I have a couple of shirts for your sims that I meant to release yesterday but instead got distracted.
First is the one seen in the preview, a tank top with a scarf. The textures for the tank top come from an old NYGirl outfit. The meshes/morphs and scarf texture come from EA, although I used this version by @sweetdevil-sims.
Only the highest level of detail will have the scarf, so from far away your sim will probably just be wearing the tank top. On the scarf version, there will be slight clipping near the arm at the highest weight.
The second one is the same top, but with no scarf.
GET THEM HERE:

Regular Top
Under the cut, I'll add previews for each preset:

At this point idk what to call my personal sims style anymore. Obviously the skin replacement I made/use is very not maxis match (although imo I feel like it isn't too realistic that it doesn't suit more cartoony sims), but I've started almost solely using clothing meshes that are personal modifications of the EA meshes to give them wrinkles/better proportions without having to worry about giant polycounts, and then retexturing them. Idk, it's not really something to worry about ig and I think locking in one specific style might limit me anyways lol

Would you be fine with some skin details instead? Since people with vitiligo don't all have the same things going on, that seems a tad more realistic to me than making one skin.
Can you make realistic vitiligo skin for all ages?
Hello! It's not in the cards currently, but I'd be down to make it a future project. It would probably be a long while, though, with school and stuff 👍

Open Flannel Top
Tumblr media
An unexpected download!!
I was trying to find a mesh for a flannel top like this that didn’t have an insane polycount, but nowhere I was searching was coming up with anything (which is wild to me because I feel like this is sort of a staple clothing item??). I decided to mix one together from EA meshes instead of going through the hassle of searching everywhere.
I’m sure it’s not the most original item ever, but I’m gonna get a lot of use out of it, so I figured I’d put it up for download for anyone interested :)
It is fully recolorable, morphed, and comes with the 5 presets below:

I might improve the textures a bit in the future, and I definitely want to make something like this for the feminine frame so that any sim can have it.
TOU: I wouldn’t mind credit, but aside from that I don’t really care what you do.

Forgot to update this when I first saw, but they do have arm length sliders (and also the ability to make body presets!) 🥳
My only concern now in terms of character creation is figuring out how they've done the skin for the game (because thats something I'd want to mod if I tried the game).
I have other questions about the world (such as whether it's just going to be the one world or multiple, and whether multiple could be used per save?), but that's kinda it for character stuff
I don't typically talk about other life simulators, and especially not the ones in development, but I did notice something with the Life By You characters that makes me curious about what other simmers think.
How do you guys feel about the limb proportions in the game? Maybe I'm just imagining things, but the limbs, and in particular the arms, look to me like they're proportionally smaller than what's typical. The shoulders as well. I would definitely be cool with them having sliders to customize limb length so that we can represent any proportions if we so choose (because everyone deserves to feel like they can make themselves), but I do still think a fix to the default proportions would instantly improve the character models in a huge way.
I wanna make my intentions clear and say that the rest of the game looks promising so far, and they're still in development so I don't want to knock them at all, but this was something that bothered me a bit and I wanted to know if it was noticed by anyone else.

Not enough balding hairstyles in this game imo. Tempted to do something about it so that my elderly men can have ponytails if they so choose.

Also forgot to mention this in the previous tag, but I enjoy the faces so far! The eyes looked a bit low poly to me, but the rest of the face is pretty cute!
My one other concern in terms of character model is what kind of thing they're doing for the skintone.
Ideally, I'm hoping for something like TS3, where it blends between multiple textures for light and dark tones, but hopefully with 4 textures to blend instead of two so that the characters can have really light or really dark skintones without sacrificing the quality of the midtones. At least, that's what would make good default skin tones way easier to make (albeit more time-consuming).
I don't typically talk about other life simulators, and especially not the ones in development, but I did notice something with the Life By You characters that makes me curious about what other simmers think.
