Oddly enough, it seems to me that monsters historically have no predilection for expensive metals; if we look at Eclipse’s hat or Batwin’s Monster King’s head, we see only branches and leaves, perhaps a special tradition indicating that monsters are one with the world.
This suggests that gold was as much a trophy here as the skulls, which Toffee extracted from the crowns and jewels of the queens he killed and melted the metal for his purposes.

People who support Solaria really scare me, like she's might just be the worst person in the show. Have yall read her chapter? The genocide and torture of monsters and then believing that they liked it that way was disgusting.
Globgor was bad, but atleast he changed and became likable. Solaria was just a terrible person all around, those little scenes with Baby Eclipsa and Meteora don't shadow the horrible things that she's done. I know Mewni is a Matriarchy, but her brother should have stayed Queen. He would have brought an economic boom to Mewni.
