Hello family, it's with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of Bridgeport. We would like to thank each of every person who has been a part of this group for the last five months. You made this place magical. It has been wonderful to see your characters develop as well as seeing the community we built OOC thrive. We have not made this decision lightly, but we as a team feel we cannot provide you all with the attention that you deserve. We will be leaving the Discord open to allow you all time to reach out to each other if you with to keep writing.

WINTER WONDERLAND MARKET EXTRAVAGANZA
Welcome to Bridgeport’s Winter Wonderland Market Extravaganza! At select times during the night, SNOAP will fall from the roofs on Main Street, giving the illusion that it’s really snowing! Food trucks and local entertainment will be set up around the court square. Big Al’s drive-in will be showing holiday assorted holiday classics. Free small popcorn and drink included!
All proceeds from the festivals admission will go towards Bridgeport’s toy drive in partnership with I & K Construction to ensure every child gets a toy this year!
Activities include:
Winter Market- Located on the south side of main-street. Local vendors sell handmade crafts and homemade jams & baked goods. Perfect place to find a unique one of a kind gift for that special someone.
Gingerbread house decorating- located inside the basement of city hall.
Snowy carriage rides- Share a fun filled journey with friends or a romantic moment with a special some one through the historic homes district.
Holiday parade- filled with floats from local businesses representing their holiday cultures and customs! ( Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas ect ) Bring your children for holiday cheer!
Ice skating rink- located across from RICCI & CO finances.
Holiday town locomotive- take a train ride around the square! There’s free cookies and cocoa at the end!
Park Walkthrough- Check out the different light displays at the park that local business have procured.
Cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus and elves- located next to Santa’s workshop on the quad.
Pictures with festive characters- Shmelf the Hanukkah Elf, the grinch! And more! - located next to the Courier office
Carols by candlelight- singing assorted holiday carols outside of the courthouse.
Tour Santa’s work shop- write him a letter and pet and feed a real life Reindeer, courtesy of Rhodes Family Farms.
Stage Performances: Local talent will be putting on small performances, Turning Pointe will be putting on a few variations from The Nutcracker.
Submission Contest
Festive holiday light decoration contest- Judged by long time winner Leanne Rhodes! (Send a photo of your characters front lawn all decorated to represent their holiday traditions! Stop is the Rhodes house walk through, a must see this time of year!)

Please feel free to say your character has entered the parade or has a booth at the Christmas market, works the food trucks or is volunteering for the rides, tours, etc. we love story building and participation here!
Event start Dec 1 and goes through Jan 7.
These are optional and are running as background activities.

Oh, look! It’s [SOPHIE JOHNSON]! I heard they’re [33], a [FEMALE], use [SHE/HER] pronouns, have been in town for [33 YEARS] and are actually from [BRIDGEPORT]. They are currently working as a/an/the [MANAGER AT SOAP OPERA LAUNDROMAT] and living in [OLD LYMEMOUTH]. You know, I personally think they look like [DIANNA AGRON], but that’s crazy, right?
BIOGRAPHY
Triggers in Bio: Drug/Alcohol Use, Deadbeat Parents
If there was any family that shouldn’t be having kids, it would be the Johnson family but after discovering the financial assistance they could receive from having children Tiffany and Terry went on to have 4 of them. Growing up she saw her parents abuse the system meant to take care of families. Despite all the assistance the family received hardly any of it went toward the kids. Instead the people who were supposed to take care of her and her siblings traded this assistance for cash to use towards cigarettes, drugs and alcohol. Seeing that their parents weren’t going to step up and take care of them, that responsibility fell on Sophie’s shoulders. Someone needed to take care of her and her siblings after all. She did odd jobs during school to make sure they had some money. What she couldn’t get with the money she earned from working she didn’t see anything wrong with shoplifting it. She was just a young kid after all with too many responsibilities for someone her age.
On top of working as much as she could Sophie managed to get straight A’s in school. It wasn’t surprising when she was offered a scholarship to her dream school after graduating. It was a difficult choice, but she knew her siblings needed her. Instead of heading off to get an education she stayed in town and got a full-time job to help her family. Was it hard to watch her fellow classmates head off to college? Yes, but it was one of the many sacrifices she was willing to make for those she loved. And love them she did despite not finding out until she was an adult that they weren’t even her full siblings. It seems like her mother wasn’t that faithful and had an affair with her dad’s best friend. Sophie was the result of this. Since finding out she’s met her biological father a few times even going to synagogue and celebrating Hanukkah with him. It isn’t the closest of relationships, but it was nice to have a father figure in her life.
As time passed, she found herself moving into a place not too far from her parents so she could still be there for her siblings. Though she never got the college education she hoped she’d get, she did manage to work her way up at work until she became manager of the laundromat. As her siblings got older and they needed her less and less, she managed to gain more of a life outside of her family. Her dating life wasn’t the most active but that didn’t stop her from having a daughter a few years ago with an off again/on again boyfriend. Despite her siblings’ reinsurance that she’d never be like their parents now that she’s a mother it’s a fear that won’t go away. She knows they’re right but it’s still something that keeps her up at night. Is this the life she thought she’d end up with? No but she wouldn’t change it for the world!

HOLIDAY ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello friends!
Due to the high volume of hiatus requests we have received this week in conjunction to the holiday & final exams - we have decided to postpone activity check for this week to allow people to enjoy time with their friends and family.
Activity checks will resume on December 4th! However, hiatus rules still apply. Members on hiatus ending before the 4th are required to return within 48 hours of their requested date with a minimum of two replies to two different muns.
We will of course be checking in with our members from time to time and encourage dash activity when possible as activity is key to keeping a RPG going strong.
Our Winter event will be launching on the first of December so keep your eyes pealed! We’re pretty stoked about it! If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
