marvin hits trina thoughts (3:30 am edition):
- marvin being abrasive coming in with much harsher music after games i play just ended
- whizzer's surprise at how marvin is acting now that hes gone im geeked i can't. marvin is not so uncouth??. UGH
- mendel trying to warm up to compliments (which hes not used to because most of his interpersonal relationships[work] involve him being the worst on his end) but having to suck it back up because its being used to put down marvin
- "trying to ruin my sleep" "chosen to make me look bad" marvin brain warping back to in trousers marvin's narcissistic behavior when whizzer is gone because obviously a marriage is not trying to bring his life down but. tunnel vision
- whizzer AND trina singing about their relationships with marvin together and you can look at it from either way and it matches....the reflections between them+marvin respectively make me crazy ok
- one thing i'll give to marvin: if my psych said "i am so ashamed." id actually go batshit too
- marvins little "c'mon," half smile to whizzer before he says no.
- the DEAD stillness/silence after he says no and after he slaps trina. reflections this, i am feral that.
- mendel holding onto jason + trina but when he moves away from jason the face jason makes looking at marvin
adding onto that: - the face whizzer makes watching them too
#trina not being all that shocked when he slaps him#like it hurt but it felt like an inevitability almost#all that repressed anger coming to a breaking point#after all the things hes done maybe violence is just to round off the checklist#it hurt#it hurt so badly#but it just proves he never loved her#couldn't love her#it just cements it#just cements to trina that she needs to move on she needs to marry mendel and let go#trina is so underrated istg

the gap between tmbg wiki song interpretations and the band's inspirations behind writing them is always funny. bc the interpretations inevitably bring up how the song is actually about an unflinching reflection of someone's shattered psyche as they grapple with their own mind and they're very depressed and dead the whole time also, and then you read up on the song's production, and it's like, "I had a bad dream :("
