(But man, the Deltarune drought is really getting to me recently. Do you think this will be the last year of waiting before the next release? I hope so... I don't know how much longer I can take before I lose my mind, haha. I don't have a lot to look forward to lately besides the next chapters, either, so there's not a lot of ways for me to distract myself for long.)

Hey there, it's been 5 days sice I didn't watch you. And besides, Happy Valentine's Day.

(Happy very late Valentine's Day. But... What do you mean by you "didn't watch" me? I'm confused... And I can't really tell if this is meant for me to answer out-of-character or for Spade King to answer in-character.)

(Also, just in general I'm going to request for everyone to not send any more Valentine's Day asks, as I already have a couple more to deal with for the next response posts and given my slow pace for art nowadays that means we're gonna be stuck on the holiday for a while... Time-sensitive asks just generally aren't a good idea for me anymore lol, sorry about that.)

(I don't mean to sound like an asshole, I get visiting family for the holidays, but they should've said on Halloween that they would be taking a break so that people wouldn't be assuming they'd still continue working over the next few months. I thought Chapter 3 would finally be 100% done by now, and yet it's still not.)

(But I enjoyed the little valentine messages with different characters. I'm still looking to see if there's one of King or not... The website doesn't have all of them, so I have to check based on the ones people got in their emails and shared online.)

(Also, the little walking cup Darkner sprite is neat. I wonder what chapter that's from... And the Chapter 3 concept art in the interview is cool! And the "Spamton Love Network" video, even if there's still no Silence Ending. There was some good stuff here.)

(From the newsletter: King and Queen exes are confirmed real now. No longer are we in the realm of "implied canon", we have been promoted to REAL AND UNDENIABLE canon now! Rejoice, divorce fans!)

(Also, the fact that this implies that King did not block her back leads me to believe that... He simply doesn't know how to block people online. He doesn't seem like the most tech-savvy guy. Or social-media-savvy. Because he absolutely WOULD block her, if he knew how. Lol)

(A bit of both haha, but mostly excited! I don't know what to predict exactly but I'm at least looking forward to the art part of it, judging from last month's Toby doodles. And if he has actual Deltarune news for us, I'll be happy, but I don't want to assume since the "nervous" part is me not wanting to be disappointed, lol... Also, I've been thinking about this statement from the Halloween newsletter again.)

(When Toby said this, I wasn't sure if he meant "no more newsletters until the chapters are actually almost done" or "newsletters continue, but no more Deltarune dev updates in them until the chapters are almost done". So I guess in about a week from now is when we'll find out, depending on if this newsletter has anything notable to say about DR at all. I wonder if this statement is why some people are having high expectations right now, if they assumed the former interpretation and are thinking "newsletter means the game is coming"? I hope people won't feel too let down if that's not actually the case... But if those assumptions are actually correct and a release is even closer than I thought, of course I'd be happily surprised, lol, but until then I'm trying to stay realistic.)

Hey I'm wondering since you made king you're able to make lancer please? Me and my friend can't find one and you're the only one who (what I think) has made a king one so I'm wondering if you could make a lancer one please?

(What are you referring to exactly? Do you mean the ask blog itself, or something more specific like when I made a King Shimeji that one time?)

(If it's the former: Unfortunately, I don't think I'd be able to handle running multiple ask blogs at the same time... It would be difficult to keep both active, since my personal format for responses involves art which takes time to make. But it's a shame that ask blogs are a bit less common to see nowadays, though... It would be cool if someone else made a good Lancer blog.)

(If it's the latter: Making a Shimeji also requires effort since I'd have to draw all the frames for the animations. But, maybe I could try someday... It would be cute to have both King AND Lancer running around your computer screen! So I'll consider it, but it probably won't be for a while. In the meantime, I tried to look for a Lancer Shimeji by anyone else, since I thought someone would've surely made one already... But instead my King Shimeji is the first Google result?? And the only actual Lancer Shimejis I saw aren't available, since one was on a DeviantArt page that was deleted, and the other was just a video of someone in the process of creating it but was never actually finished or released from what I can see... That's honestly really disappointing.)

So if your stomach mouth accidentally bites it’s spade rope thing, will it hurt and how do you even treat it? Asking for me hohoho!

(Seems like the newsletter is, in fact, for Valentine's Day. The subheader page got updated again to a message saying that some parts of the newsletter will still take a while, and it included a sprite of the Annoying Dog holding a valentine.)

(So yeah I guess that explains the doodles Toby posted earlier this month lol, we gotta hold on for a few more weeks.)

( OKAY so either I've been tricked or there has literally just been confirmation that we are getting a winter news letter!!! )

(...And I guess they know that people discovered it early, because the subheader has been changed to say "Binter" lmao, but it's nice to know that it's coming soon regardless.)

(Although, seeing how desperate for content the fandom is right now, I do worry a little if the newsletter ends up not having any real Deltarune news. I know I've been disappointed last year, and I don't want the rest of the fandom to experience that same feeling from getting their hopes up too high. But, if Toby does have good news for us, that'll be a happy surprise. So we'll just have to wait and see...)

((do you think there's a possibility of it being released mid summer/early fall? i know ch 3 is pretty much done and there's been great progress with 4 but I dunno because I recall toby saying the 3rd chapter was in the dialogue stage twice or something of the sort?))

(That release date range is what I'm currently expecting/hoping for, yeah. And Toby said Chapter 3 was basically done in the Halloween newsletter.)

(And now it's mid-January. So I imagine that any final touches left for 3 would most likely be done by now, yeah? It's really just 4 to worry about now, and I don't expect it to take as long to develop as 3 since Toby has said 4 is a more "standard" chapter, plus it already has work done from the period where they were trying to develop multiple chapters at the same time.)

Maybe you're right and we'll get an update on Valentine's Day, but I expect it to be just as small, or less, as the last one. I think Toby's really trying to hide what's inside these chapters lol

(Yeah probably. On Halloween Toby said he was gonna pause on the dev updates unless it's close to being finished or if "something funny happens", so I'm expecting the newsletter would just be like... Advertising the ZUN collab song since it finally came out, and uhhh idk what else really, lol. But if the Valentine's Day drawings are for that, then it'd be fun to see at least if he drew more characters besides the ones he posted to Twitter.)

(The next ask will likely be done later this month, or early next month at the latest. Just to give you guys another update on that.)

(While I'm here, what did you think about those drawings Toby posted last week? It was a bit unexpected to see Valentine's Day doodles when it, uh, wasn't Valentine's Day lol. I've seen speculation that maybe there will be a newsletter on Valentine's Day and that's why he was drawing that a month in advance? I dunno. But to anyone who thinks the new chapters will release on Valentine's Day, you have your hopes up way too high, no offense lol! I'd like to think they've been making good progress on 4's development, but I think it's still too soon for it to actually be done, let's not get ahead of ourselves again.)
