113 degrees outside and I decided to order a pizza! I had a long wait as the restaurant was busy. July 2023

Time flies so fast. I broke my foot in June of last year and here we are, coming up on May in a couple days. This was taken at the end of July, right before it was removed after 6 weeks. It was 113 degrees outside when that photo was taken here in the SFV.

Quintessential early 1980s walking cast. Have a great week ahead!

Unfortunately the sidewalk was kinda dirty that day. I got another shot at this same spot a few years ago when I was in one of my other walking casts. July 2023, and I think I got this cast off the next day.

Momentary chill during trek around campus with my broken left foot. June 2023

Those people who know me well, know that I LOVE vintage photos of any kind. This is from 1971. I am incredibly grateful that I grew up at the end of the era of plaster casts and wooden crutches in the 1980s. But prior to that, that is really all there was. I remember when my friends Chad and Adam broke their arms in 5th grade and BEHOLD...the first white fiber casts I ever saw.

While in a cast, you can do barefoot at work and nobody will get on your case about it. Comfort while recovering is important and most employers are sensitive to that.

Heading out the door for work - July 2023. I live in a warm climate so have never done the socked cast thing. I was thinking maybe my workplace would mention it but nope, it's never come up. Sooo...bad foot, bad wrist and thumb joint. Life is strange.

This guy broke his leg badly and had surgery as I remember, then had some issues during recovery with his ankle. Check out those sexy nerdy glasses! I should know - I have those exact same glasses.

It's always good to get out and go publicking when you're crippled. Or at least...get groceries or buy birthday gifts - June 2023.

Talk about adding insult to injury!! One broken bone is enough!

This is an old pic but a great one. It looks like he's got either a splint or a recycled cast strapped on. Those are often the best thing to put on a sprain, versus a hard cast.
