what does kuroba do nowadays?? Also hello!!!! Wanted to also say that your art is just absolutely stunning!!! Fantastic work as always ^_^
HELLO!! THANK YOU SO MUCH??? 😭✨️ it makes me really happy to know that ppl enjoy my artwork, it means the world to me!!
as for what kuroba is up to : they're a florist in akatsuka and run their family's shop, yotsubana florals! it used to belong to their grandparents, chōji and madoka, but they took over day to day operations after their grandmother's passing and their grandfather having a nasty fall on the job. ( before that, they just helped around the shop as an assistant florist to their grandfather and a delivery driver. )
they adore flowers and making people happy through their arrangements so kuroba's very happy with their job despite how busy it can get. karamatsu is a regular loiter at the shop and does a lot to liven up their usual routine, too. he's goofy and kinda pathetic, but kuro finds him oddly endearing and appreciates that he'll listen to them talk about floriography so they enjoy having him around.
also, since i feel like i should mention it here, kuroba initially doesn't realize that karamatsu is the same guy that they had a crush on in their 2nd year of high school. he does seem familiar to them, but they aren't able to pinpoint exactly why until they attend their reunion and catch a glimpse of kara. they kinda spiral for a bit after finally remembering who he is. meanwhile, karamatsu doesn't make the connection even when kuroba reveals they went to the same high school, which ends up becoming a major point of tension in their relationship — especially when kuro's feelings start to resurface. ( to be fair to both of them, it probably would've been around 11 years since they were in the same class together and both of them have wildly different vibes now so them not remembering each other immediately is kinda understandable. )
#a bonus tidbit about kuro : they have an older sister named erika and a younger brother named keshiki!#i've actually doodled some designs for them so i'll probably talk more about them eventually#i'm still working out the finer details of kuro & kara's relationship and how it plays out tho#mostly like order of events and stuff#i need to draw them more i need to put that man into more situations#i'm considering making a comic about how they first meet as adults but that's a very tentative idea rn#ANYWAYS thank you so much for the ask!!! it made me very happy!! 😊#it's fun getting to talk about kuro hehe#mj ocs#oc : kuroba#mj rambles#asks#txt

1) His favorite drink is whiskey, but it's actually barley tea (he'll say it's whiskey but it's actually barley tea) (this is stated in Spoon.2Di vol.10 and Karamatsu character book (in "Osomatsu san drama CD volume 6-2 Karamatsu and Todomatsu" he can get drunk on barley tea, barley tea is also mentioned in "Matsuno family diary"))

thinking about kuroba again so i did some phone doodles of their high school & kun looks!
some notes about about kuro's high school design under the cut!
despite being in the school's beautification committee, kuroba never really put too much thought into their own physical appearance until they got into college, only really doing the bare minimum to look presentable in public. the only reason why they ended up cutting their hair in their 3rd year was because they were sick of it constantly falling into their face and dealing with it in general. ( cutting their hair did kickstart their interest in changing their look, though. figuring out their gender helped a lot, too. )
they used to have horrible posture, often hunching forward. this only improved in college, when they started binding and felt more confident in themself.
the major reason why karamatsu doesn't remember who kuroba is is because of how much their look has changed since they were in the same 2nd year class, along with their change in demeanor. he still faintly remembers his interactions with them, though. i imagine that if kuroba showed up in the movie, they'd have a flower instead of a head in kara's memories.
he would've attempted to become friends with kuroba in their 2nd year, but he ended up forgetting their name and felt so terrible about it that he couldn't bring himself to try reaching out to them before they changed classes. they probably ran into each other once or twice during their 3rd year, but kara never made the connection ( and continues to fail to do so when they meet again. )

also while we're here i'm gonna clarify something about choro and keiko's dynamic under the cut since theres a LOT more to their connections but i was unable to fit it on the chart
SO. keiko and choro actually have like, insane online beef with one another; both are fans of a lot of the same series, but have wildly differing opinions on the contents of them [whether it be characters, ships, etc.] and butt heads a lot on social media over this. they havent blocked each other yet, because they really like arguing with one another and making each other mad. and on choro's side of things, he actually really enjoys keiko's artwork [since she DOES draw doujins in her spare time]
the caveat here? neither one of them knows that they know each other in real life, purely by circumstance. keiko doesnt really like to talk about her hobbies much to people she knows IRL, and she hasn't really gotten a chance to speak to choromatsu in person one-on-one, so they just know that they both like the same genres of anime and manga. its a bubble just WAITING to pop
