Atlas wept, I did not just overhear one of the captains planning to attach bombs to weather surveillance equipment.
He did not just say he "doesn't need a permit" to do that.
I'd get up and scare the shit out of him but my leg is still busted and I don't want to deal with this specific captain.

What's the least tame thing you've dealt with as a beast tamer?
Probably a Pegasus they brought in last year. Big, corvid type, bronco. Carnivorous bastard that kept trying to eat me instead of his meals.

How'd you end up working with such intimidating company as Atlas?
You know? That's a really good question.
I don't fully know.
I remember Atlas showed up one day, and no one could get near him. Just kept snapping and growling at anyone who tried. For whatever reason, I kept wandering back to him. I brought him food, not that he ever ate.
Soon, he started following me around. Gave everyone the creeps, but I don't mind him. Even when he mimics voices.
I was appointed to the beast tamers division not long after. Altar is probably the most tame thing I deal with, despite his appearance.

Storm Hawks Bird OC Challenge - February 2023
Yes, this is late, let's do this. Hello Storm Hawks fandom! I've got another bird to base ocs off, and this month it's the Downy Woodpecker (Dryobates pubescens)!
This is among the smallest species of birds in North America, and lives primarily in forested areas. They're insectivores, and while they closely resemble the hairy woodpecker, the two species are not closely related.
The deadline this month is Thursday the 29th.
Minimum requirements for drawn entries to be put in the winner’s vote are a name, occupation, the character’s home/birth Terra and at least one paragraph (or about 100 words) of written backstory.
Minimum requirements for written (i.e. written dossiers without art, or mini-fics for the character) are 500 words including backstory and appearance. Feel free to make a mini-fic out of this challenge, I’ll make sure to link it with the final collage as well.
You’re not expected to create a character from scratch for this challenge. If you’ve got an older character concept that’s been collecting dust or that you’d like to take the opportunity to revamp, feel free! The goal of this challenge is to inspire people.
Collaborations are allowed! Same rules apply, the only addition is that you and your partner(s) just need to make note of who was responsible for what part of the character.
Make sure to tag me in your entries and also DM me with a link to your entry. Tumblr is not always reliable about notifications for this sort of thing, and I don’t want to risk missing anyone’s entries, so better safe than sorry.
The group collage of entries, and the (possible) winner’s vote are opt-in. Participation of those parts of this challenge are not mandatory.
