Being trans is not a new, trendy thing. Trans people have always existed.
Dr Alan L Hart was born in Kansas in 1890. He was assigned female at birth, but started presenting and living his life as a boy at a young age. In 1917/1918 he was the first trans man to go through GCS in America. After the procedure, he changed his legal name. Shortly thereafter he married his first wife, Inez Hart. They separated and divorced a few years later and in 1925 Alan married his second wife, Edna Ruddick, to whom he was married until his death. After the second world war, synthetic testosterone became available and Alan started HRT. Alan dedicated his life to helping people. He was a medical doctor and radiologist and he put much time into researching tuberculosis and collecting money for people who could not afford treatment themselves. He died of heart failure in 1962. His body was cremated and spread over Puget Sound.

sorry not sorry but I am always going to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to queer inclusion
Like if you say you’re bi but you’ve only dated people of the opposite gender? you’re bi as hell i don’t care.
If you tell me you’re trans but you haven’t transitioned yet or don’t want to undergo certain aspects of transitioning? you are trans! I’m gonna call you by the name and pronouns you tell me to use
what if someone looks feminine, is afab, and uses she/her pronouns but identifies as nonbinary? what if someone looks masculine, is amab, and uses he/him pronouns but identifies as nonbinary? both of those people are nonbinary because they said they are!
if you’re asexual or aromantic but you’re still hetero in the sense that you experience attraction of some sort to the opposite gender and that gender alone? you’re still a part of the community babe! Aros and aces have always been queer.
If you don’t know if you’re queer or not? you’re certainly welcome to be a part of our spaces while you figure it out!
if you don’t wanna use labels? dont! that’s it! never let anyone pressure you into labels if you’re not ready to define that part of yourself.
if you use labels/pronouns that are uncommon and/or perceived as strange? that’s your label! those are your pronouns! who am i to tell you you can’t use those words to describe yourself??
basically fuck all the debates about the nuances of this stuff. if you tell me you’re queer, you’re fucking queer. I have no right to start discourse with people about their own identities and neither does anyone else.

hello! so im a 20 year old afab lesbian. most of my life I've identified as cis, but since I was 16 or 17 I've been questioning my gender. I used to just push it away since I don't feel dysphoria at all. I'm comfortable being a woman, but I also feel like im enby at the same time. or im in a comfortable state of between cis woman and no gender. would this fall under genderflux/girlflux? im sorry for asking, but Im really not well versed in trans/enby terminology and what it all means!
it doesnt sound like you’re girlflux. girlflux is when you feel like the intensity of your gender/femininity increases and decreases. it fluxuates. however, i think you could look into demigirl or non-binary woman!

hi, i've been recently questioning my gender. i'm afab, and never really felt out of place like that, although i've never expressed myself as hyperfeminine or any other extremes. i realised that i only "feel" female because i have a female body, and that my mind seems... i don't know, genderless? if i had the same mind (experiences, memories etc) but i randomly woke up in an alternate universe as amab i wouldn't feel uncomfortable like that. i don't know if this is a normal experience or not?
i dont think thats a ‘normal’ thing that cisgender people experience. i’d look into agender!

can i say i'm both nonbinary and girlflux? like,, is girlflux under nonbinary, if nonbinary is used as an umbrella term here, or is it more under a genderfluid umbrella? or is it up to me personally to decide? i just don't want to harm anyone with my identity
girlflux falls under the non-binary umbrella! so girlflux people are non-binary :)

Ok, so, um, I'm gonna sound extremely stupid, but uh II know next to nothing about LGBTQ+ so.... How do genderfluid people 'change' their gender?? Like, what does that even mean??? It says that they identify as one gender one day and might identify as another later. What and how??? I'm confused. But, I am very, very sorry if I sound offensive, I don't mean this in an offensive way. I'm sorry.
genderfluid people don’t ‘change’ their gender every day. it’s something that they feel. they can’t control or influence it. cis people might wake up every day unaware of their woman- or manhood and don’t think about it, but for genderfluid people how they feel changes. i recommend looking up some blogs from genderfluid people to understand it more!

Hi! Is not wanting to date trans women who have d*cks transphobic? Can I have a genitals preference or is it bad

can someone whose girlflux, call themselves female, or is it strictly girlflux/non-binary?
i wouldnt call girlflux people ‘females’. it’s a term that a lot of (trans and non-binary) people including myself feel uncomfortable with. i only use it when talking about someone’s assigned gender. girlflux people are non-binary, however, they might still like the words girl and/or woman if they feel comfortable with it (but please check this per person as this doesnt count for all of them!). - liv

Hi! I'm thinking I might be a demigirl but I don't want to use thy/them pronouns and I'm worried that'd be offensive or wrong or something and I'm still trying to figure out if I am a demigirl so I'm wondering if you could explain other genderfluid/demigenders or ones similar and if not using they/them pronouns is offensive? (Also, your blog is a HUGE help and I'm so grateful you guys are here
hey there! thanks for your patience :) you can absolutely be a demigirl and not use they/them pronouns! gender doesn’t always equal gender, so non-binary people don’t have to use they/them pronouns if they dont want to. and demigenders are when someone feels partly one gender, and partly another gender or agender. example: someone can feel only very little masculinity and feel mostly agender, and still be a demiboy! - liv

hey! i think i might be girlflux or demigirl. some days i’m cool with female labels and pronouns, and other says i get quite dysphoria and don’t want my gender to exist/i want to mass as masc/androgynous. i’m only into girls, usually i just call myself gay because i don’t like the other term. is it ok on the days i feel most female to use the term lesbian? i don’t know if it’s right or not. i’ve always been attached to the label and it’s weird not knowing wether i can still use it or not.
it is absolutely okay for you to use the word lesbian! any woman/feminine aligned non-binary person that is exclusively attracted to girls/woman aligned enbies can use it! - liv

I'm really sorry if you've already gotten this question, but what's the difference between boyflux and demiboy? I'm trying to figure out what I identify as and the definitions are similar enough that it has me a bit confused. Thanks!
hi there! thanks for your patience! boyflux is when you feel like the intensity of your masculinity fluxuates. some days you feel more masculine/boy than others. demiboy is more fixed/stable!
