Hey pan! Lemme start off my saying I absolutely adore your work- your style is so fascinating and beautiful, and it really makes my day. I wanted to ask how you choose your colour palettes for your works? Particularly in you portraits, I really love the non-realistic, vibrant colouring and I was wondering how you went about working with colours outside of normal skin tones? Because I'd love to try some unrealistic colouring, I'm just lost as to where to start. Thank you!
Hi ! Thanks ! :D
I made this post ages ago about skin tones that might help !
If I’m purposefully going way off “realistic”, basically I ignore the colours that are in the ref, and just focus on the VALUES. If I decide for example “shadow = blue” and “highlights = yellow” you’ll still get a convincing 3d form but with a totally crazy colour scheme. If you’re working like that you just like follow your instincts.
This old post might help you as well, it’s a pretty extensive colour theory tutorial I made.
Hope this helps !

hi Pan! I've been seeing a lot of your paintings recently and I absolutely love the way they look. do you mind me asking your process behind each one??? like in acrylic, do you block in undertones and work from there??? or do you just go wild??? thanks so much :-)

Hi pan! Ive come across an issue when digitally painting recently that i cant seem to work with. Whenever i paint on rgb mode in photoshop the colors look draaaastically different on other screens but with cmyk mode, everything seems a bit too dulled. I really wanna print my work and have it still maintain the same colors so i was wondering what you do on the technical aspect of photoshop to deal with that?
welp yeah that’s a big issue i am constantly struggling with too so i’m not sure i can answer ur question satisfactorily :S but i guess you just have to try and pre-empt what you’re going to be using ur art for before you start so u can choose rgb if it’s only gonna be digital or cmyk if it’s only gonna be printed??
if you’ve got something that’s rgb and you want to print it, maybe try converting it to cmyk and then editing the colours again after that ? honestly if someone else has a better answer i would love to hear it as well

hey Pan! I have a question. I want to open commissions, but i have one problem. I want to get paid by paypal but i dont know how do do that. Do the customer pay me or do i send an invoice? are they any different? what about the fees and how does ot look like when the art is digital? i would be really grateful if could show me how it look like on the artists side and dont feel obligated to answer if the question is to personal! (english is not my first language i hope that gibberish makes sense)
if people see incorrect information in my answer please feel free to chime in ! but ok so:
all ppl have to have in order to pay you through paypal is your email address. i’m fairly sure there’s like an extra fee if you send an invoice VS just letting them know the amount and letting them send it to you. so that’s preferable.
the other fee is for like when you want to transfer the money from paypal to your bank account but if it’s over a certain amount i think it’s less or free? anyway it’s a small fee.
in terms of digital art what i do is email the client a low res version of the artwork so they can see if they like it or want any changes. once they give feedback & are satisfied i prompt for them to send me the money & only once that comes through do i send them the full res image. you can decide for yourself whether you allow them to upload it or not.
however, while paypal seems like a pretty great simple way to do your transactions as an artist, please watch this video by minnie small exposing paypal as a potential scam:

after seeing that video i am also considering using a different method when it comes to my commissions ^
