#035: Windsweft

Thin as paper, these lightweight creatures flitter through the air in energetic dances, they seem to be one with the wind! As they fly, glide and dive, they leave trails that stay in place for a while, letting you know the path of their prior movements. When many of them gather, it looks like someone scribbled random shapes on the sky!

Inspired by Swifts & Paper Airplanes!

This is another redesign! This time of Swyrise, I've always kinda hated how they turned out ==x) I'm super happy with this change!

#070: Thistleleon

After 10 thousand years of living as all kinds of different creatures, a Fluffree will grow into their final form: Thistleleon, a massive dragon full of wisdom from hundreds of lifetimes, they will travel to the highest peaks of the planet where other Thistleleon settle, sharing their life experiences with others to learn even more about life. They hoard stories, as well as the DNA of all the creatures they turned into, which they can place in the next generation of Fluffrees if need be; this and the fact they are immortal, makes them perfect safekeepers of biodiversity, if a catastrophe occurs & many species go extinct, they can bring them back by releasing Fluffrees into the wind!

#006: Fluffree

Floating whimsically through the wind with their fluffy caps, these little seeds are free to explore the whole world! They store the DNA of all the creatures they meet, and after years of travelling, they will plant themselves and grow into any creature of their choosing! With the potential to be whatever they want to be, they have immense lifespans to be able to live as all the lifeforms their heart desires! Able to revert into seed form & grow into a different creature every 50 years! If you spot one fluttering about, it's likely they've travelled a very long way to get there, make sure to say hi! They might've never met someone like you before!

Inspired by Thistle Seed Pappus, Aviation! & the idea to be free to live different kinds of lives!

This is a redesign of one of my first Nimalings! Who used to be called Windsid, super happy with this glow-up! This is what they used to look like!

#069: Sonosurf

This microscopic organism can surf on the soundwaves created by bigger creatures! By vibrating at a specific frequency, they can make parts of their body levitate in place, which makes them more easily moved by air vibrations and be able to surf with them!

They do this both as a means of transportation and just to have fun! They prefer to ride the waves made from rhythmic vibrations like music! Wherever there are tunes playing, you can bet there are Sonosurfs enjoying the waves in the air around you!

#007: Seafarefly

If you're on a trip in the middle of the sea, you might spot one of these flying above the water, miles away from any land, nobody knows why they do this, or where they're going, but they seem to like the high seas! Some smaller creatures like to hop on them as means of transportation.

Inspired by the fact real life butterflies can be seen flying over the sea without any landmasses nearby whatsoever!

Drawing Commandyceps gave me an excuse to revamp Seafarefly! I've wanted to ever since I first posted them, this is what they used to look like!

#068: Commandyceps

By implanting themselves on the heads of any creature, they can take full control of a body, steering their wheel to command where it goes, as well as snacking on some brain while they're at it. Don't worry too much though, they don't like staying on any one host for too long, as they like to learn how to steer all kinds of body plans: flying, swimming, running, rolling, this parasite wants to try it all out!

#067: Blastoffish

With their powerful caudal fins, these aquatic creatures can swim at such extreme speeds they can break through the water and blast off high into the sky! They regularly gather in groups to see who can get the highest, these competitions are done far away from any land as to minimize accidents with flying creatures. It's rumoured one Blastoffish managed to reach escape velocity and ended in space, but this is often disregarded as a myth.

#066: Oortsider

These colossal organisms have adapted to live within asteroid belts and Oort clouds. Living in outer space without gravity, their bodies have no real up or down, and can maneuver through the icy rocks regardless of orientation! It's thought they first evolved in protoplanetary disks, and as solar systems formed, they moved to the outer clouds of space debris. A lifeform that can exist and thrive before life-sustaining planets are even formed! In the vacuum of space, they can only communicate via flashes of light, half of each eye can produce light of different colors, while the other half receives the light!

Based on a speculative biology concept I've had for a while! A true alien species that lives in the Oort cloud!

#065: Pleiadance

These 7 astral lifeforms seem to behave as one, orbiting the biggest one while spinning, their orbits also increasing and decreasing in diameter, altogether making for a mesmerizing dance to behold, it is unclear why this is performed, as it has been observed to occur with no correlation to time or place. Some theorize this is actually an extradimensional being who can freely move stars in an attempt to communicate with us.

Inspired by 3 dreams I've had related to the Pleiades star cluster! Really enchanting stars!

#064: Nimblessed

Packs of them travel together to areas undergoing drought or heatwaves, though small on their own, in big numbers they can block out the sun to cool things off, and even kickstart precipitation by serving as nucleation points for water! Their arrival is often welcomed with joy & gratitude!

Inspired by Jellyfish, rainclouds and how much of a blessing they are after a heatwave!

Absolutely fell in love with this monster from Undertale Yellow! Such a cool design!!! And they're nurturing plants in the desert! Environmentalism win!

#063: Satellight

They used to light up the nights in forests back on the ground, but after being inspired by Spectastro, this bug wanted to become a star in the nightsky just like them! So they flew into outer orbit, taking the shape of a star with their reflective wings and eyes, which bounce sunset light into the planet below! They are now visible to all as a high-speed moving star, lighting up the early night everywhere and becoming part of the celestial firmament!

#062: Humminwhile

These extremely energetic creatures have evolved such advanced metabolism they can freely move through time! They can travel to the Past & the Future, as far back or as far ahead as their little bodies can take them to! They can travel back in time, do something different, then travel forwards to the future to see how things changed! It's thought they travel between alternate universes when they do this. If you encounter one, it might not be from this timeline!

#061: Hydroscade

Born atop the highest point of a mountain, Hydroscades move at extreme speeds downstream. They do not eat, being powered entirely by the falling water that pushes them, they can even stay still just powering themselves, then use that energy to swim upstream! An energy-intense lifestyle from humble beginnings that parallels the sheer force of waterfalls that originated from mere evaporating water!

Inspired by Waterfalls, Hydroelectricity, Diplocaulus & Hammerhead Flatworms!

#060: Frenspin

Naturally born to spin, these joyful creatures can join other individuals of their species to make life more fun! From 2 to up to 5 Frenspins spinning together! Some groups are inseparable, some are constantly switching friends, mix and matching different colors! Some come, and some go, some even prefer to spin on their own more often than with others! Some rarely see each other but when they do they have a blast! Some may grow tired of their spinning companions after a while, but it's ok, there are many Frenspins with all kinds of colors to enjoy life with! Get out there and you'll find people who like how you spin!

Inspired by friends, spinning tops & molecular bonds! (like the bond you have with friends, the whole thing is a friendship metaphor ==:)

When a Singularitime and an Entrospace learn to work together, they can stand on each other, allowing them to walk anywhere as long as their footsteps are in sync. Turns out neither of them react to the planet's gravity, they are exclusively attracted to the matter of each other. Once a pair figures this out, they make their way out of the planet's atmosphere towards an unknown location in deep space.

Turns out Singularitimes were the fragments of the avatar of Life and Everything That Has Been, while Entrospaces were the fragments of the avatar of Entropy, and The Nothingness That Will Be. Their constant struggle, eternally pushing into each other is what allows the universe to keep existing

Helping every single pair of Singularitimes & Entrospaces get back to space will allow this cosmic being to be whole once more. Everyalways.

Inspiration: Entropy will eventually make all life cease, but without it, Life would be impossible, our cells create order with the sodium-potassium pump, to then open the cell membrane to let entropy do its thing and balance the ions, like a waterfall, this rapid influx powers ATPase like a generator, which creates ATP, Life utilizes Entropy to power itself. In turn, lifeforms increase the heat of any given system, meaning Entropy grows when Life is present. As such, these two forces, Order & Chaos in constant struggle, is what allows our universe to exist as is. So together, they are everything ever.

#059B: Entrospace

These small 3-legged creatures are not native to planet Nima, they arrived in a comet that crashed into the ocean. Gravity seems to work backwards on them. They are now stranded, only being able to walk aimlessly under the sheet of ice that was once the comet. They seem to despise Singularitimes, and have an affinity to stare at creatures for prolonged periods of time.
