Eyeglasses are, at least in my opinion, one of the most normalized forms of assistive devices, to the point that many visually disabled folks don’t even consider their need for glasses a disability, but ableism is so prominent that it still goes there. A good amount of people falsely believe that wearing glasses will make your eyes “reliant” on them, making your vision worse over time, so they choose to potentially suffer due to blurred vision or make their children do so for no reason - just like many people think the same thing about other assistive devices. Meds, mobility aids, you can find people saying this kind of rhetoric about almost anything.
I was about to say that the world would be better if people treated other assistive devices the same way they treat glasses, but some people can’t even treat glasses correctly.
Ableism is everywhere.

Who the hell decided it was a good idea to start an ableist trend about the 'glass child' but the people are literally fucking talking about how they wish they didn't have a disabled sibling, or that they wish their sibling would just die. What. The. Fuck?
Specifically saw one that said 'I hate my autistic brother I hoped he died' dude, your brother could literally see this, MILLIONS of people saw this? And the comments were literally filled with people regurgitating the same sentiment
Another thing is the 'vlogging' of disabled people, I do not need to see nor should I be able to see how you treat your disabled family/friends, they are not a way for you to make profit and for you to put them in situations where they react badly, go to hell.
I hate hate that. They can all fucking die, I hope their disabled family/friends each get a million dollars and better known people
