Media that did the half-mermaid child trope better than Mermaid Melody Aqua
5.) Barbie in a Mermaid Tale (Merliah & Calissa)
While we don’t know what her father looks like, we can see that Merliah inherited her bi-colored locks from her mother. Though we can only assume she inherited the more yellow-blond color of her hair and blue eyes from her father.
Pre-reveal & Post-reveal + Mother
4.) Emily Windsnap (Emily & Aaron)
This one gets points for originality because the Dad is the mermaid/merman in this one! Though since it’s a kids books (and my memory is foggy since I haven’t read it since I was a kid). I don’t know if she’s a clone of one parent or not 🤷♀️ Though it does get points off for the whole not allowing your kid to go in the water for their entire life. How do they bathe ??!
Emily + her father
3.) Mako: Islands of Secrets (Zac Blakely + Nerissa)
10/10 would recommend this show and it’s predecessor, H20: Just Add Water. They’re great and are a really fun watch. While Zac (spoilers) was born a mermaid he was raised human, so it kinda counts. I’m counting it.
Zac + His mother
2.) The Thirteenth Year (Cody Griffin & His mom)
Now here’s one I’m sure you’ve forgotten. This DCOM was my jam as a kid! It’s about this kid who starts growing scales and gills when he turns thirteen. Spoiler: He’s half mermaid or rather merman?
Cody & His Mom
1.) The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea
I feel like this one is self explanatory? Melody is not a carbon copy of her mother, except maybe in personality. She get her looks from her dad! Apparently, that’s a rare thing in media.
Art trade for the wonderful piece that @lyricfrost13 made me, featuring our respective Naruto verse SIs from her fic Glass Marionette and my fic series Fade to Black. We really be putting our boys through the wringer, huh XD
It's kinda funny to think about how GM!Kankuro has bagged an awesome significant other, dismantled a terrorist organization, fought a whole ass war, and facilitated the yeeting of a giant glass terrarium full of pissy Black Zetsu into the sun at seventeen years old, while canon hasn't even started yet for seventeen year-old Tensei. On one hand, he gets the benefit of more prep time! On the other hand— aw crap oh shit fuck fuck fuck how who what do ugh.
Not me making another timeline spreadsheet to figure out when people would have been in school etc for my fixit fics. This one, to no one’s surprise, is todoroki-family-centric. The Rei-being-one-year-younger-than-Enji thing is a headcanon, but for the most part, the relative ages are canonish based off of others’ calculations
Also it is never mentioned whether or not Endeavor went to university and I cannot find anywhere what age he officially debuted. Also school year versus birth dates versus the year that it is absolutely is fucking with this but I did my best.
