who reaches out to new neighbours?

Tenko! If she catches a lady unloading a moving van she comes running to help. Oftentimes waving Rantaro over to help. He happily does so and returns the favour when he sees ANYONE doing it alone when he has the time. Tenko likes to gift share-house uni students cookies and mothers with a simple lunch to help ease them into the neighbourhood. Rantaro adores her domestic side.

who remembers to buy healthy food?

Both! As they both have very strict/wholesome diets. Tenko has a mega sweet tooth though. Rantaro likes to bake things with natural sweeteners as her sugar crash is nowhere near as bad. She gets cranky after too much sugar anyway so it works out for the both of them. It turns into fortnightly bake sessions where they get to be affectionate and a team and get a treat at the end of a long day. You bet bake-offs happen on the holidays. They love valentines day. Always ending the comp by feeding & complimenting the other <3~

who remembers to buy junk food?

Tenko. She loves the taste of mint chocolate on Rantarou's lips. It always leads to a smoochfest And Rantarou loves the fact she's always thinking of him. He makes her special boba on hard days. Plus they both love nibbles on movie nights. Kettle corn, nuts, M&Ms...It's usually reserved for special occasions when they're both coping with something...

who fixes the oven when it breaks?

Rantaro. Tenko tries and just gets angry. They end up fighting about it cuz Rantaro also gets stuck... Tenko surprises him with a new+improved oven the following weekend cuz she's sorry. He nearly cries. Gifts are a big deal to him. She gets him to stop saying thank you with: "Shhhh, darling, it's ok. Just cook Tenko dinner for a week and you're off the hook, ok~? Love you!"

who waters the plants/feeds their pet(s)?

Pets: Tenko. Their husky is just as affectionate and energetic as her so they bond very easily. She's like her baby. They have a chicken too. It's very affectionate thanks to Tenko lol. When Rantaro started eating cleaner and wanted her support, she got a hen to tease him but ended up falling in love with her. Plants: Rantarou. Tenko just forgets sometimes//gets distracted by Kiwi & Miss-Eggs-A-Lot. So Rantarou makes sure to check the soil. It's a hobby of his so he's happy.

who wakes up earlier?

Tenko! But she wakes him and drags him on her morning run. Unless he's had a long night. But she gets him back into the routine with some coffee and brings him to bed at an appropriate time. He actually loves how serious she is with it, as when he returns from trips his jetlag is BAD. But she helps me get back into the swing of things.

who makes the bed?

Rantarou. He likes to slowly wake up by tidying the room while Tenko prefers to jump outta bed to ensure she won't be tempted to snuggle Rantaro and fall back into deep sleep. It's perfect though cuz she gets their clothes + toothbrushes ready.

who makes the coffee?

Both! Weekends; Tenko. Cuz she knows how much Rantarou likes his lazy days. They do yoga these days. Weekdays; Rantarou. His tea preference changes daily lol and Tenko loves how he makes it.

who burns breakfast?

Tenko. She gets way too easily distracted. It's okay though, cuz she just makes bacon/eggs, quick quesadillas, etc, extra crispy. Rantarou loves how creative she gets sometimes to save it. It's always a nice surprise. once they had fried rice for breakfast. But it's ok, cuz some mornings Rantarou saves her and brings her back to the present by hugging her from behind and helping out.

how do they let each other know they’re leaving the house?

Tenko always asks where her things are 30 mins in advance so Rantarou has the chance to gather her things and hide her wallet to get more hugs & kisses. When she does leave though, she's very loud about it, I mean, yelling as she closes the door loud; "TENKO'S LEAVING, LOVEBUG." and texts him on the train something sassy/sweet. Usually a reminder that there's a surprise in the fridge/bedroom/yard. Rantaro's always ready 30 mins in advance so he can chase Tenko for hugs and kisses. He likes to take a moment to check in on her and remind her, she's the most amazing woman he's ever met.

how do they greet each other when one of them gets home?

Tenko likes to sneak up on Taro and bomb him with affection. Loving it especially when he screams like a girl. Rantaro usually holds her for a while depending on the day. Usually leaving a kiss on her head when she's busy and makes her pinky promise cuddles later.

who brings home little gifts like flowers/chocolates more often?

Rantarou. He's a hopeless romantic. There's this vase in the bedroom he likes to refill with fresh flowers to keep the room smelling natural. He knows how much words of affirmation mean to Tenko so he writes her poems and leaves her love notes with her bento/when he leaves to search for his sisters and Tenko can't get time off. But Tenko enjoys surprising him too. It's like a competition to her now. She's working on a scrapbook for him that's completely hand-made. Rantarou still doesn't understand her sudden obsession with selfies and taking photos of him.

who picks the movie for movie night?

Tenko. She's too opinionated not to. They rock, paper, scissors to decide most nights. Rantarou usually wins but likes to pick things FOR Tenko sometimes.

their favorite kind of movie to watch?

Action/Adventure/Comedy! It's an adrenaline thing I think. But Disney's a close second since Rantarou was brought up on them and Tenko loves the princesses/staying up to date with the kids at her dojo.

who first suggests a pillow fort?

Rantarou, surprisingly! Tenko was down one day and Rantarou thought it'd improve her mood. He was right. She always asks to do it again. It's a running joke between them now.

who builds the pillow fort?

Rantaro. Cuz Tenko's too busy running around the house to grab more supplies. He literally tackles her into the fort on one of her laps. They rebuild it together. And movies are so much better in it. Especially in the winter.

who tries to distract the other during the movie?

Rantaro when he's extra clingy/not ok. Tenko when she's excited about something in her life and just wants to keep talking. He shushes her with hot chocolate, hugs, head scratches and massages.

who falls asleep first?

Tenko. She crashes so quickly it's hilarious. Rantarou loves how clingy she is unconscious. He teases her about it all the time.

who is big spoon/little spoon?

Both!! They switch constantly. c o n s t a n t l y. No matter where. Playing video games. At Taro's desk. In the kitchen. It's adorable. They love hugging/receiving equally so it all works out.

I've...actually never considered-- Um-- OMG YES!!!! AMACHA GHOST/AFTERLIFE AU FTW!!!!!

Or- OR. Instead of waking up the cast asap and shocking their system immediately, Team DR instigated level "limbo" as a way to ease the participants back into their real bodies. Slowly.

OKOKOK

Tenko would definitely be salty at first and seek out vengeance, however, I feel like Kiyo would be in hell due to his crimes but instead let's just say the kids are in limbo whilst the killing game is going on. . . yeah. Like a period of time to ease the deceased back into reality without simply awakening them and rendering them mentally and physically paralysed from the cruel reality they imposed on themselves!

She shakes and throws Kiyo to teach him a lesson whenever she gets close enough. Kaede and Kirumi stop her as much as they can but eventually stop trying due to her incredible persistence and the fact that it doesn't hurt him it's just time-consuming.

She pays no mind to Rantaro and Ryoma, considering they were victims. Excluding the odd degenerate comment here and there. Still harbouring some lingering hostility towards Angie.

She spies on Himiko and is happy to see her loosen up and begin her character arc. But is painfully aware of the fact they might never see each other ever again. She's rooting for her from the bottom of her heart so it's a bittersweet realisation.

Kaede still tries to help Tenko get over her bias, following around Shuichi and dragging Tenko along so she can witness his goodness. Eventually, Kaede gets tired of Tenko tarnishing his name so she turns to Rantaro as a live example. Often catching him being charismatic or really focused on something with that cute expression.

Considering they're probably going to spend eternity together, Rantaro's keen to form a bond. She throws him for being so casual about it. He doesn't mind cuz it's kinda fun. He just floats in a circle and back in front of her. Gravity in limbo is similar to on the moon only they can float. And the windy feeling when her hands brush against his limbs is really cool.

He apologises for not taking her more seriously and reintroduces himself adding, "C'mon, shake my hand, my soul's as transparent as ever," and "I'm not going anywhere Chabashira-san, no point holding a grudge into the afterlife,"

She's very stubborn at first, but considering how peaceful the living cast are, Tenko slowly realises this may potentially be the only people she'll be able to make amends with before passing into...hopefully, heaven.

Angie gets tired of the hostility and says the only way to enter heaven is to make amends. Kaede lies with good intentions, hoping her agreeance will push Tenko in the right direction.

It's a slow process until Miu is found dead. Tenko attempts to cling to the inventor, lacking protective malice as she learns there was no way to harm the searching soul. Miu acts normally and demands some alone time, complaining about Tenko's clingy nature and slips a, "Don't you get it Chabashitstain?! This is why Yusmello ran off with Yonorganism!"

Tenko starts distancing herself after that. Miu is mildly excluded until she makes it up to Tenko. Tenko verbally insists she forgives Miu. Deep down she can't hate a girl, though Angie & Miu were tempting that moral of hers.

Kaede attempts to console Tenko, followed by Kirumi, Angie, Miu, Hoshi then Gonta. But to no anvil. Gonta's pretty good at consoling too but it didn't sway her. She's startled by Gonta so much so, she throws him, along with assumptions of his murderous intent. The girl's groan in unison at her lack of hearing and self-centred nature before filling her in on how Kokichi manipulated the situation.

Tenko began to feel more and more alone despite the growing number of interactivity.

Rantaro grows concerned and bold, attempting a method unused thus far. "Chabashira-san, when you fell off a tree for the first time, did it scare you into trying again?"

"When your Sensei defeated you in a match time and time again, did you falter in challenging him again?" "How does Amami know th--" "Tenko, when you failed to throw your opponent over your shoulder, would you stop there and let the aggressor roam free?" "Of course not! Don't insult Ten--" "Then what's making you give up now??"

Cue Rantaro and his amazing words of conflicting. Being able to gently corner people with what they needed to face. "Don't run away from your emotions. Take your own advice and be honest with yourself. What else is there left for us?"

He reached her when everybody else lacked the knowledge and experience to touch her weeping heart. She starts reinviting herself into open discussions. Progress.

Tenko observes and attempts to understand the boys for the first time ever. She finds herself following Rantaro around the massive campus. Considering he's still trying to piece together the mastermind of such a grand scheme. They bond over their search. She gets to know him. And the other boys due to Rantaro being so friendly and charismatic.

By the time Kokichi joins them she's instinctively distant but Rantaro again has a soft spot for the misunderstood ones. Rantaro's kindness is so large it makes Tenko weak and frustrated. Suddenly, she worries he'll fall into Kokichi's trap. She starts worrying and watching his back silently.

Angie "gets a hint from the Gods" and starts shipping them. After a few funny comments from Angie, Kaede and Kirumi are on board. It's entertaining watching the almighty Aikido master blush, stutter, trip over nothing and float aimlessly despite her persistent walking and attempt to perfect her form.

Kaito quickly jumps on the bandwagon and suddenly their relationship is the most interesting thing that can link the kids to some form of normalcy. It was a good distraction from the pressing matters of the killing game.

Rantaro is none the wiser. However, when Kaede pushes Tenko to befriend Kaito and he notices her genuinely trying to find interest in conversing with the space-enthused boy...he's conflicted. He's proud of watching her progress unfold and honoured he took part in it, yet, feels a pang of tightness when seeing everyone boast about their blossoming friendship.

Considering Rantaro doesn't hear the teasing and gossip about Tenko's potential struggle. And upon noticing Tenko avoiding him oftentimes, he grows jealous. However, this makes the time she spends with him alone willingly, appear all the more special. He appreciates their friendship and confesses one night during training... "You've come a long way in the past month Tenko, I'm very impressed. Be proud of yourself. I know I am."

Somehow, his words make her chest tight. "I'm honoured to call you a friend."

Kokichi "boo"s him, the little eavesdropper. Angie slaps his mouth shut, Kaede scolds him, while Miu continues to embarrass the couple attempting to join their living comrades in their nightly training.

This however starts the tradition of the dead training alongside the living. Being with them in spirit and whatnot.

Tenko's bias dies down a lot in the span of 4 chapters. And when the truth is revealed to the deceased cast in the grand finale. The deceased cast is forced to awaken after Kiibo's blinding sacrifice. Tenko awakens with hasty breaths, demanding to see her friends. All of them. Boys included. Not allowing anything to take them away from her.

If Kirumi's the mum of the group, Tenko's definitely the overprotective big sister once she reaches her character arc.

I like this idea, it brings a little more hope to the despair. Plus I like the idea of them all being friends in the afterlife cuz there's no more threats or stress.

Amacha fantasy AU??

boop, this is really old, i started it while in a big fantasy phase but it's cute and amacha so have it lol

Tenko cringed, grimaced, and twitched as she failed to strip off her cloak. She continued to stall and glance over her shoulder to find her familiar sitting with his back towards her and his hands clearly covering his eye sockets. She couldn't see the hue of his face or if he heeded her advice; "Close those eyes of yours! Seriously! Where are your manners?!" but she lacked the apathy to remove her first layer of clothing. Even though he was her familiar; a lesser in regards to her stature. She just couldn't treat him as such because of his appearance...And she hated that empathy she held for him.

"Tenko cannot believe she has a menace as a familiar!"

All day she'd been grumbling similar expressions under her breath. It didn't help welcome the familiar boy at all. She caved in and stormed off to the bathroom, Rantaro's back still facing her with his head hung low and his sight blinded by his own two hands. He couldn't believe any of this. He sat at the foot of her bed and made sure his eyes remained padlocked.

"Well, I never asked for this either, so..."

He whispers it under his breath. Knowing fully well she probably won't hesitate to throw him as she did to that purple-haired wizard earlier that day. She was fierce though, he had to give her respect for her strength.

Rantaro is a mega tease.

No one can change my mind...

At first, sure, he'd play the role of the perfect boyfriend to a T, but! I'd like to think, the more Tenko grows comfortable around him he lets his guard down and lets a few sarcastic comments slip past his lips or even a flirtatious comment here and there simply to admire the rare silence Tenko would produce from being so caught off guard...

also I found this in my fic wips and I just love them!!

"You know what!?"

Tenko had exploded. Rantarou wasn't even sure why it was now all of a sudden...or what it was even about...All he had done was stand beside her and do his best not to anger her and yet, here she was, boiling in what seemed to be rage, "This is exactly why Tenko despises you so much!"

Rantarou couldn't misjudge who she was talking about when she pointed her finger directly at him, trembling with how furious she was.

"Boys are so unfair! But you! You are so much worse than Tenko could ever imagine!"

Rantarou just stood there, hands in pockets, and prepared himself for the storm to come. At this point her verbal bullets meant nothing. Sure they hurt his pride from time to time but he's had worse.

"You-don't-even-do-anything-menacing!" She blurts it out so quickly he almost missed the underlying compliment, "Tenko never thought a man could be so-...so...so!...s-s-so...!"

Did she just admit to his innocence? Rantarou wasn't certain whether Tenko had knocked him unconscious and left him delirious in a coma-like state, or if she was genuinely battling the urge to beat him to a pulp right now.

"Considerate!"

Now Rantarou wasn't sure if Tenko was red from fluster or from the amount of hatred emitting her aura.

"Tenko ought to give Amami-san a beating SO DREADFUL... But that would go against her beliefs of protecting the innocent! If only you gave Tenko a reason she couldn't deny... If only you did something so despicable! If only you weren't so freaking perfect!"

Rantarou hadn't finished processing her admitting his consideration. So hearing her cuss without warning made him blink a few times.

And she wasn't finished, "You're good-looking! You have style! You can cook! You're BRAVE! You respect women! You're smart!!... Is there anything you CAN'T do!?" she yelled. Her eyes were wide with hysteria.

She paused as if expecting a reaction, but all he did was stare.

"You're! Too! Perfect!" Now Rantarou was sure she was blushing. "You must have a defect somewhere...! Do you not like girls!? Is that why Tenko's claims of you being a womanizer are always denied!?"

"...You think I'm attractive?"

She's in turmoil and only has the effort left in her to express a frustrated "ARRRGGH!"

"Is that a yes?"

He was a teasing, handsome teenage boy, and she hated how much she loved seeing that smile.
