Reasons a lord might support the Greens, other than "I Hate Women."
"A king is not above the law, and declaring an heir is not enough to supersede tradition."
"My liege lord supports the Greens, and it's safer for me to follow their lead."
"Under no circumstances should Daemon Targaryen ever become king, not even King Consort."
"My father swore that oath, not me, and I'm not bound by it."
"I have an elder sister and a bastard brother, and I don't want them thinking they have a right to my lands and titles."
"If Rhaenyra becomes queen, we'll have another succession crisis between her sons after she dies."
"It's wrong to deny a firstborn son his inheritance."
"This other lord that I don't like is supporting the Blacks, and I oppose him on principle."
"Aegon has an experienced Small Council who have been ruling for years. I prefer that stability over a bunch of newcomers."
"Rhaenyra is willing to commit treason for her baseborn sons and have her husband murdered, I could never trust her as queen."

Are all of these necessarily true? No. Are some of them still motivated by sexism? Absolutely. But with only the information that's available to a lord in Westeros, these are all pretty reasonable takes, and I think it makes for a better story when the morality isn't black and white.

Aaron Ehazs's idealistic concept of Azula's redemption with Zuko ~guiding her out of abyss~ doesn't sit right with me considering Zuko, intentionally or not, played a great reason why Azula hit rock bottom in the first place. Yes, Ozai ruined her life, but Zuko was the one who pushed the domino that led to her most traumatic breakdown she'd ever experienced. Not to menion 90% of the series he viewed her as an obstacle/rival and suddenly the next season he would supposed to be her Iroh?
It also rubs me wrong that Zuko is the only person he mentioned, almost like Azula's healing, her identity, her world, her agency, HAS to be centered around her brother. Thank god there wasn't fourth season.
I have to agree. Zuko and Iroh are the people who both never showed her an ounce of kindness and who are directly responsible for ruining her life. Having her "redemption" be about her forgiving and obeying them and hating herself and her actions due to their "kindness" feels wrong. It feels like Azula is crawling back to people who never cared about her when it mattered, just because she's so deep in despair that she can be bribed by the slightest trinket, the slightest sliver of hope that someone might slightly care about her

Martell Week: Day 7 - Favourite Headcanon: Water Magic
I had heard about this headcanon that the Martells could have water magic powers like the Targaryens have fire powers in the form of dragons. Their ancestors worshipped the Rhoyne river and its turtle god, had populations that were water witches, etc. Dorne has been known to resist Targaryen rule by simply vanishing. Not to mention their Rhoynish ancestors are said to have magical powers that they draw from the river. So the Martells may have some remnants of that magic. It’s been my favourite headcanon of the House ever since!

Zuko's arc would feel a lot more self-aware if he himself wasn't afraid to bring up the shit he's done, without people having to remind him, even in moment when you wouldn't expect him to bring them up. And if he dropped the whole "everybody's acting friendly with me, why won't you already?" behavior towards Katara in "The Southern Raiders".
For a character with "the greatest redemption of all time" Zuko certainly still lacks humility and emotional intelligence. Especially if at the end of it you plan to place him in a position that requires a ton of patience and readiness to take responsibility.
First off... yes, this is all true.
Second, I would say that Zuko specifically needs to get a lot better at discussing his actions with others. Both in a strategic sense - kid needs to learn to take advice from people he trusts or he's going to suffer immensely - and in an emotional/moral sense. At the moment he's still very self-centered and that's going to cause serious problems for him later down the line. (Though that raises the question of whether Zuko does actually trust anyone after the show... I wouldn't be surprised if he has some serious issues with that, similar to his sister's.)
Third, neither Zuko or Azula should be Fire Lord - they're both far too young and they both have serious issues they need to deal with, including but not limited to the ones listed above. All the trouble comes when one tries to think of who else could take that position...
