Really Easy Lavender-Mint-Lemonade
For the syrup:
250 ml (1 cup) water
150 g (1 cup) Sugar
Juice from 1-2 Lemons (to taste)
10-15 fresh lavender flowers (i took them from my garden)
A few mint leaves (i used 6)
For serving:
Mineral water
Ice cubes
Mint leaves, flower heads or lemon wedges to decorate the drink.
Boil the water and the sugar, until the sugar is dissolved. In the meantime, squeeze the lemons. (The amount of lemon juice depends on how tart and fruity you want it, you can play around with that a bit 馃榿).
Chop or smash the lavender and the mint leaves up a little, so they release more of their aroma.
When the sugar is completely dissolved, take the pot off the stove and put in the lemon juice and the herbs.
Let everything cool down, it can sit for a few hours if you want a stronger taste. Put everything through a strainer.
Congrats, you have made lavender mint syrup!
Now you can use a few spoons full (to taste) in your mineral water for a nice, refreshing summer drink!
If you put it in a bottle, you can keep it in your fridge for a few days/ up to 2 weeks.
