Warning: spoilers for chapter 2 part 2!!

Synopsis: after the hope-crushing reveal of the only entrance blocked, the second main game kicks off. The awaited fate of Kanna and your boyfriend, Sou falls in your hands. Would you follow through with Sara's last ditch effort to save both of their lives or will you go rogue and do what you think is right?

a/n: hey guys! I am so sorry for starting with angst on my second post for this fandom but I just couldn't resist hehe- hope you guys enjoy! Let's get started!

"the exits… blocked?!" Sou exclaimed in disbelief. He neutralized all of the security systems, you would know you saw him do it right in front of your eyes.

So why is the only exit blocked with rubble?

You could feel your feet begin to buckle from under you. This was your last hope. This was the only chance you had to escape with everyone still alive and well. You couldn't bear to watch Gin and Kanna break out into sobs or see Sara begin to slowly spiral beside you. You especially couldn't bear seeing your boyfriend, Sou ramble so anxiously.

He dragged you into this deadly game. This was his only plan he could think of to ensure your safety and it was just crushed right in front of his eyes.

If only he wasn't walking with you that night. You could've been living your life like normal. You could've been spending your days under the warm sun. you could've-

The comforting hand on his shoulder snapped him out of his festering thoughts. Sou quickly turned and looked into your glossy eyes. He didn't know if you were crying because he failed or because you knew the final countdown before the main game was fast approaching. You were going to do it all over again. Your vote will cause another person to lose their life.

He never wanted to look at your fearful expression ever again.

Sou slowly wrapped his arms around you, letting you silently cry on his shoulder. Sara and the others might consider him a liar, a snake, and a loner, but he was the exact opposite with you behind closed doors. He could care less if the others think differently of him now. He was sure that they wouldn't even care about it at that moment. The only thing he cared about right now is to try and delay the inevitable.

But what else can he do?

You didn't remember Gashu coming up and reminding you of the little time you had left before the second main game begins. He stood there for a brief moment, seemingly only there to taunt you of the blocked exit, before he went back down and left your group to mope all alone. Everyone else began to do their own thing as a heavy and depressing aura began to settle around you.

Sou took hold of your wrist and brought you to the so-called "Winner's Room". He pulled out Kai's laptop and began to frantically shift through the files, desperate to find something, anything that could help you turn the tides. You could see his hands begin to shake as he attempted to hack into the already broken security system to no avail. You knew it wouldn't change anymore. but maybe, just maybe, if he tried hard enough-

"Sou," you took his shaking hand in yours and caressed it in your palm. "Sou, take a deep breath." you whispered. Sou turned to you with the most disheartened expression you've ever seen. It clawed at your heart. The man took a deep breath and tried to compose himself to no avail. He pulled his hand away and went back to the laptop. It wasn't going to be as easy as you thought.

"Sou-"

"I just need to look for another way," he rambled, his voice barely above a whisper. You could tell he was trying so hard to keep calm.

You snapped toward his direction. But there was no other way. If there was, you didn't have time to uncover it, you were sure he already knew that. you couldn't bear to remind him but it must be done. "Sou-"

he cut you off once more, "if I just had a little more time… I could find another way. If we just-"

"Shin!" you raised your voice, effectively shutting him up from his intrusive rambles. His glossy eyes turned to you, now prepared to listen to what you had to say. "We shouldn't worry about it anymore." his eyes widened at the start of your monologue. You can't be serious. "We should just… accept our fate." he shook his head but you continued. "it's better if we start hatching a plan for the main game instead of trying to look for another way out."

"b-but-"

"Shin, I've accepted my fate." you cut him off again, wrapping your arms around his neck and resting your forehead against his. Sou closed his eyes and listened to your voice. "I've accepted my fate ever since the first trial. You shouldn't blame yourself. It isn't your fault at all." you whispered. "We should think forward now. It would be more efficient." he slowly opened his eyes and smiled. "I'll promise to defend you to the end."

"So will I," he whispered back, bringing your lips to a tender kiss.

The moment was thoroughly interrupted by a chime from your tablets, signaling a change in the roles.

But that didn't matter right now.

The main game went more smoothly than the first one. maybe because there were less people so there was less debates, but you digress. Despite trying to defend Sou with all your might, Sara and the others still chose to put him up in the preliminary vote, much to your dismay.

So now you're here, watching as Keiji revealed that he was the Keymaster and that Nao received the Sacrifice card from Gashu himself. Just when you thought you had a shot to do things over, Gashu decides to shoot himself instead of giving you your desired extension. This leaves you with the choice you never wanted to make.

Who deserves to die, Kanna or Sou?

"W-would you vote for Kanna?" Kanna spoke up from the hopeless panic, causing everyone to fall silent. The child started mumbling about accepting her death and Sou being much more capable in carrying the group. "Vote for Kanna. In return, I want you to believe in Sou."

"Don't be ridiculous, Kanna!" Sou yelled. From the look on his face, he definitely didn't expect this. He didn't want to hear her out. He desperately tried to contradict her. "Self-sacrifice is worthless! Nothing is going to get solved if you die!"

"It's better to choose logic. Sou will be able to carry the group." Kanna said calmly. They just kept going back and forth. Soon, their ramblings began to fade in your head.

You didn't want Kanna to die, she was a child after all. She had so much to live for. Sou might have done some suspicious things but he did them for his and your sake.

Keiji's calm voice snapped out of your reverie. "I'm voting for Kanna," he said confidently. You could see that Sou was getting anxious by the second. You turned to look at your feet, unable to watch him grow more hopeless.

"Sacrificing a child isn't right! I'm voting for Sou…" Q-taro said, pressing his tablet. Your heart began to beat louder in your chest. You didn't want someone so close to you to die right in front of your eyes.

"Same here… " Alice said with ease. You clawed at your chest. No. please… you didn't want Sou to die.

"i-I'm voting for bucket girl, meow…" Gin sobbed, pressing on Kanna's picture on the screen.

that leaves you and sara to decide their fate. You shakily turned your head toward Sara, gripping your quivering hands together. Voting for Kanna might cause a rift between you and Sou. voting for Sou might just break you.

What do you do now?

"S-Sara…I can't do this." tears began to fill your eyes. You never really imagined having to plead to a high-schooler before but here you were. "t-there has to be another way." you pleaded. Your mind doesn't seem to work properly now. You were desperate for answers, and if Sara had a plan, you wouldn't hesitate to hear her out.

Sara thought for a moment before looking up with a serious expression on her face. "I have a plan, but it might be risky." she leaned in and took your hands in hers, in a way that came out as comforting.

"you have to vote for Sou, (y/n)."

No. nonono. Sara must be playing a sick prank on you.

You pushed her back, Trying to take a deep breath to no success. She must be fucking joking.

"W-why would I do that? I'm not fucking voting for Sou unless you tell me your plan!" you exclaimed angrily. Sara only looked at you with the same determination all over her face. She walked over and placed her hands on your shoulders. You decided not to pull away until she said what had to be said.

"(y/n), trust me. Vote for Sou. I don't want to ruin what little hope we have left if this gets shut down by Safalin. We'll know if it works or not." Sara explained.

"And what are the risks if this plan doesn't work?" interrupted Alice, his arms crossed over his chest skeptically.

"They both die."

You gasped, pushing Sara away once again opting to look at Sou instead. He only stared back at you with the most scared expression before he slowly nodded, accepting the risk.

You stumbled back to your podium and watched as Sara inputted her vote in. you picked up your tablet and stared at Sou's picture. Risks are supposed to be taken. It wasn't as if Sara is not trustworthy, in fact it was the opposite. you just didn't know if Sara was trying to use your vulnerability to trick you.

So were you going to follow her and risk the deaths of both Sou and Kanna,

Or will you vote for who you think is right?

You felt your throat dry up as everyone anxiously watched the results show up on their screens.

Kanna: 5 votes

Sou: 3 votes

Nao: 2 votes

Kanna looked up and saw her smile melancholy at you. "thank you, (y/n)." you backed away, your hands clasping your mouth in shock. You did it. You voted for Kanna. Sou was saved. You felt like you could finally rest your heart.

Well, before you saw Sou's expression.

"(y/n), you were supposed to vote for me! It was supposed to be a fucking tie! Why didn't you choose me?!" he yelled out, slamming his hands on his podium, clearly frustrated.

"I-I'll never forgive you!"

"I-I'm sorry…" you mumbled but you knew your voice won't reach him anymore. you felt your heart drop at that. Your feet quickly began to give out on you and you dropped to the ground, eyes going from Sou to Kanna. The girl quickly wrapped her arms around you before she headed off to face her fate.

Everyone stood their podiums and watched in horror as the two girls got executed one by one.

While you sit on the cold ground and watch as Sou desperately tries to keep it together in front of everyone. You'll never be able to come near him again. You'll never be able to touch or kiss him the way you did before.

You knew that things will never be the same again.

Your final say might have saved Sou's life, but it broke his soul.

And that is all! I really didn't want to do this but my mind just pushed me hehe. Yes, I chose Alice to live, leave me alone. I hope you guys enjoy this! the ending feels kinda rushed imo, I really didn't know how to end it- love you guys 💖💕❤️

♡ were you even comfortbale with being in a relationship with a dude that´s 4 years older? ♡ i mean, he´s seen way bigger age differenecs, but still, what if he was going too far? ♡ so expect him to analyze the living heck out of you and try to find even the slightest sign, that you might have interest in him ♡ he will also tease you more or "jokingly" flirt with you, to see, if you get embarassed or more annoyed ♡ and even if Karma is acting cool on the outside, he´s actually like any other guy and really nervous ♡ he really wants to get it right with you ♡ and well, one day, one of you confessed! though im guessing it was him ♡ of course, he also directly said, that of you are not cool with him being a tinsy bit older, he completely understands it and is completely cool with it ♡ but no! you seemes to feel the same way and so the two of you got into a relationship! ♡ i am sure, the beginning was pretty hard ♡ Karma was never in a relationship before and would just be really akward with intimacy, be it just holding hands, at first ♡ also, due to the different age groups, both of you have completely different things going on in your life ♡ but if you both are actually serious about this relationship, it´ll work out in no time ♡ and Karma is most definetly serious ♡ so he constantly asks you, whats happening during your days, etc. ♡ Karma is also on the smarter side, so he will be glad to help you with school/uni/... if you need it ♡ ooo, especially when it´s about subejcts he actually likes, like Maths, he would be so happy ♡ but he´d also joke around that you owe him something for it ♡ -> would feel guilty if you actually repay him with something ♡ oh, and expect there to be a lot, and i mean alot of comments like ♡ ´ugh, i am so old i am literally a grandpa in this household´ ♡ and a lot of comments about how young yu are too ♡ ´omg i remembr, a long time ago when i was your age i-´ ´you are literally only 4 years older, babe´ ´shhhhhhh´ ♡  like mentioned previously, he loves teasing and flirting with you ♡ he just thinks your reactions are the funniest, especially since he can just go like ♡  ´you know i am right, stop being mean and respect your seniors!´ ♡ i can also imagine him, when you tease him back for once or flirt back, saying something along the lines of ♡ ´ugh, i hate children´ ♡ but honestly, other than making it to be another reason to tease you and annoy you 24/7, i don´t think i t would be an all to big deal for Karma to be a little older ♡ and he is glad that it isnt one for you either ♡ that being said, relationships with older people aren´t always that great, you should really be careful what you are doing, please be especially safe, if you are a minor, there are lots of scary people out there <- a/n ♡ he is still the same idiot that makes himself to be the greatest and expects you to agree with him on everything ♡ if you go into a relationship with Karma, you should definetly know what you are getting into beforehand ♡ because this dude will be the clingiest little shit and you won´t get him off that easily again ♡ but oh well, that just makes Karma so amazing!<3
