It’s a shame most people kill Doru in the first five minutes of meeting him. His character has so much potential once you read into the nuances.

Loveta belongs to @xazomara
Ανδρέας belongs to @staliaofatreides
Propaganda under the cut
Loveta
H Λοφτα (Loveta), είναι ο πιο πρόσφατος χαρακτήρας μου για το dnd. Παίζουμε στο curse of Strahd και η Λοφτα είναι μια life domain cleric αφοσιωμένη σε μια θεότητα της αγάπης την Αφροδίτη.
1) είναι icon, she is a pansexual polyamorous priestess of a sex/love goddess, it doesn't get more sexy than that
He has killed before and he will do it again.

RIP Larry, but at least everyone else made it!
Yes, 3 x 3 is a correct amount of time for this adventure, less and it might feel rushed, more and it could feel stretched. Honestly Berger was a fun villain to interpret, it would be nice to have an excuse to make him pop out again.
Tonight I DM'd my first Call of Cthulhu one shot and for the first time in my short DM experience I don't feel dread nor anxiety!!!
Turns out that I only needed to find a system that works for me. DnD is too complex and its adventures have too many plot holes for me to manage peacefully, Blades in the Dark requires too much improv for my shy ass.
Please please please if you wish to DM but when you do you feel unsatisfied or unable to run the game, try another system before giving up!
I can't express how happy I feel to finally be the GM for my usual GM (and husband) <3

An arboreal griffon is a ferocious avian carnivore with the sleek body of a leopard and the head, forelegs, and wings of a green woodpecker.
These creatures are chiefly known for their characteristic behaviour. They mostly forage for small and medium sized mammals on the trunks and branches of trees, and often communicate by drumming with their beak, producing a reverberatory sound that can be heard for miles. Their diet also includes birds, eggs, tree sap, scraps and carrion.
They mostly nest and roost in holes that they excavate in tree trunks, which they defend fiercely. They sometimes come into conflict with caravans when they make holes in wagons to feed on goods, but perform a useful service by their removal of invasive species on trees. I drew this for my GM who wanted to homebrew some griffins! This one is based over a green woodpecker and a leopard. You can find the homebrew on DnDBeyond

I READ EVERYTHING, I READ ALL THE TAGS AND REPLIES!!! And thank you all for all the traction this post is getting, really feeling the community!!!
So, for us it was 3 sessions, 3 hours circa each. But! My player decided to gtfo before the climax, crically successing throughout the whole plan. So instead of forcing him into the climax anyway, I changed the finale a bit (putting it under the cut to avoid spoilers in case someone wants to play it).
Basically since my player bested Berger in several occasions, I found more interesting having the Lloigor finding use of the player and the absolute chaos he brought everywhere he went. PC brought thrice the people expected as the ritual and the Lloigor was amused.
I had the ritual go off anyway, except instead of poor Larry (he was saved by pc) the sacrifice became Berger himself, as the Lloigor grew bored of its plaything.
In the end I closed the one-shot (three shot?) with news of a crude bloodbath nearby the sanitarium, justified by friction between Berger and the local pastoral community (something actually plausible in Italy). The doctor friend of the PC being called as the new soverintendent of the place and invited PC to come and meet him for tea, being eager to show him the new improvements he plans on the sanitarium.
My player was very satisfied even if he missed the Big Bad FightTM, which could always be used in case of a follow up case.
Wish you the best of luck with your one-shot!

It's 100% ignorance. Not sure about the US, but in my country DnD has become a synonym for ttrpg, to the point where people say "We're going to play DnD" even if they're playing on another system.
Also many ttrpgs aren't translated in languages other than English and that doesn't help, since having books in one's native language make preparations a looooot easier for DMs
I heard something kinda life changing the other day regarding RPGs
I was playing dnd with an oldster (not a grognard, he was cool), when I brought up how I dislike how lots of players homebrew 5e into something unrecognizable, rather than just playing a different ttrpg, and he said something that kinda blew my brain apart.
He brought up the fact that back in his day, tons of people would adapt dnd, or whatever RPG they had, to do a ton of different genre's and playstyles. They'd do this because it was the only RPG they had, because it was generally pretty hard to get your hands on multiple RPGs.
Now, in the modern day, this is certainly not as much the case. With the internet, and sites like drivetrhurpg, I can play as many systems as I want. My file folder is chock full of them. But it makes me wonder how many people know about sites like that, when their introduction to dnd might be finding dnd beyond, or watching a dnd actual play, or going to barnes and noble and seeing dnd on the shelf.
Like I still think you should 100% use a different system for things dnd is not suited for. Like by god, don't do the Dimension 20 thing and do a murder mystery, or a regency romance, in dnd 5e of all systems.
But at the same time, it makes me wonder how much of people using dnd for everything is ignorance, rather than malice.
Because there is malice, all of the people who refuse to even try to learn a new system, and get annoyed at honest advice like "hey, dnd 5e is a combat based system, built around the usage of resources over a long period of play, with 6-8 encounters in a 'day', don't use it to do a murder mystery". But I like to assume not everyone is malicious.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;
So the father shaped the son in his own image, as he was created in the image of God.
It "only" took me five months to finish painting this!!! Gods I hate having so little time to take care of my brainrots.
Faolàn again, or as my friend like to call him "the vampire's boytoy"
I had a lot of fun painting the mosaic part, maybe I'll do a tutorial since it could be helpful?

It was Genius Loci from the book Doors to Darkness by the way! This one-shot is a little gem and I can't recommend it enough. I only adapted it a bit to our tastes (moved the story from Salem to our equivalent in North Italy and changed the finale due to my player's choices).
Despite the changes, it still didn't require too much work from me. Which is great considering that the other time I approached an official one-shot for DnD I ended up going crazy trying to fill all of its gaps (and when you're an adult trying to juggle your life between two jobs, a dog and a broken car, little to no prep to enjoy a game is a HUGE plus).
Now I'm planning to pick another one-shot to DM, I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any!

It only took me around one year to finish this, damn you work
I love love love this kind of meme, so of course I had to do this for my blorbino in Call of Cthulhu, Faolàn O'Hara.
Explanations under the cut.
Wool: as a texture I choose wool both because one of his key item is a wool scarf, and because it serves as Faolàn's contradictions. Genuine, warm and soft, but also rough at the same time.
Aurum italicum: color palette aside, this plant in my native language is called "snake's bread". It is said that snakes eat its berries to develop their poison, or that they can be used to attract and kill snakes as the berries emit heat and snakes mistake them for preys. Faolàn's first arc is centered on his fear and later antagonism against a gang called Bramble's Snakes, so it was perfect. Plus it represent very well his hot-temper and lethality.
Wolf: Faolàn creates extremely strong bonds with friends and family, treating them as a pack he feels obliged to protect and lead.
Butterscotch: this guy is depressed and has a hell of a sweet tooth, butterscotch has that vintage feel that's what he'd love.
Rifle's Spiral - The Shins: I was very indecisive about the song, since his theme from day one has been another song. But decided for this one in the end as the foundation theme for Faolàn is devotion turned into blind faith turned into violence. Also the song is somewhat circular in its structure, which is perfect for his tendency to meddle with timelines.
Rage: Faolàn's main emotion is rage. He's the cornered wolf biting for its life, the all or nothing, the fire that consumes the sick forest to allow for new growth.
