Automatic sketches 090324
I've been playing with new concepts and the act of letting my mind roam free when sketching. It's not automatic drawing in the literal sense but rather an automatic thought process. A meditation or something.
The little creatures always seem to emerge when I'm sketching. They're so fun.

THIS IS AWESOME ASTDKGDJTDK--- Thank you do much for deciding to use my illustration as a cover, it's an honor!!
My fifth bind is complete! This is a collection of some of my absolute favorite short Good Omens fics (sub-20k words) which I sorted into rough thematic categories. This book features works by @thehoyden and @darcylindbergh (among others who I don’t think are on Tumblr) as well as a cover image graciously provided by @adealiz ♥️
Technical details follow:
This was my first time working with this specific paper (which I cut to the correct grain direction! What a delight!) as well as my first time using hand-marbled endpaper (as opposed to printed scrapbook paper.) The endpaper was much thinner than what I’m used to, so I had a little unexpected glue moisture rippling.
I think I’ll be switching my fonts up going forward. I keep having issues getting Garamond to print consistently.
For the cover, I used a faux leather upholstery patch. I printed the cover image on printable vinyl and added some silver lettering stickers. It might not be the most durable/travelable thing ever, but it looks nice on the shelf.
I’m so happy to have this one done—the learning process never ends. I’m already typesetting my next two binds, another Good Omens fic and a Star Trek AU 😊

What is your typical art medium / drawing program? The textures are beautiful 😩
Art I post online is mostly digital. I use Krita 5.1.5 and I got brushes I use form this site below!
I have tested quite a lot of brush packs until I found the brushes I feel the most comfy with.
Dirty chalk for children (...because I'm such a child sometimes xd) Honestly it's amazing, most textures in my works are made with assistance of these.
SK Sketching in Krita V1 - best fucking digital graphites I've ever seen
Set of Watercolor Brushes - very nice and truly watery!
Rotating light brushtips WIP - has pretty insane real paint effects! I don't use it much but they are good!
I use like one brush from every brush pack, but sometimes I get playful and having them installed is a real joy! If you want more details, feel free to ask! I can provide a guide if needed <3
Update: btw, my tablet is Huion Kamvas 13!

I thought I have posted these here already but I found out I didn't, time to fix that!!
EDIT: To clear something, people have been tagging this as charcoal drawings - they are not! They're digital (well, digital charcoal, you can call it that, haha)
Made in Krita with a tablet :)
But it's a great idea, I should revisit charcoal sometime. It's a very fun medium.
