incredibly random, but I feel like Achilles would be that one drunk guy who goes around proudly telling everyone to look at how much of a catch his boyfriend is and then when Patroclus, incredibly flustered, gently reminds him that they've been married for three (3) years, Achilles would go real quiet for one- two beats, and then get up on the nearest table and yell, "That's MY fuckin' husband!"

this is crazy to think about from achilles’ standpoint bc not only was he gay, but he was also a bottom and now i can’t stop thinking about the implications of death by gay sex

Eternal Paradise
Achilles and Patroclus found a little secluded area to be alone. A little paradise of their own. A little peace for their weary souls.
I had a photo I wanted to use as reference for so long and I finally had an idea for it. I am more than thrilled with how this came out in the end. All the little details are my favorite thing about this.

Achilles: you can't make everyone like you, you're not Patroclus
Odysseus: What? Not everyone likes Patroclus
Achilles, now offended: who doesn't like Patroclus?
Odysseus: ...well—
Achilles: names, now. Give me their names

It’s the middle of the night. Chiron should probably get some sleep. Looking out of his window he sees two boys, they’re stargazing. Achilles! He thinks. Patroclus!
It’s only then that he realises that Patroclus’ skin is way too white and as glorious as Achilles was, he definitely didn’t light up like a glow stick in the night. It’s not them. It’s just Nico and Will.
It’s been over 2000 years, they’re dead, Chiron, they’re dead.

oh GOD THE MERCHILLES CONTENT !!! THE COLOURS TOO??&?@)@)?£()’gkvv IM EATING MY FIST
What I’m calling By the Sea au, I was thinking about how thetis is nymph and then I was like ‘what if mermaid?’ And here we are.
The second one is my favorite so far <3
Full body mermaid form
Patroclus bust shot (ignore how long his neck is)
In the au Pat is a lighthouse keeper with his dad and how he first meets Achilles is when Achilles saves him from drowning when he tries to get back to the lighthouse during a storm.
lol doodle
Peleus and thetis are in love but also kind of divorced and peleus runs a sandwich shop because why not.
She’s a lot more chill and mostly just wants Achilles to be less reckless and not get hurt
Briseis is Achilles’s friend and she is the one who helps him do a little spell to turn human for two weeks.

“And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone. [...] When he died, all things soft and beautiful and bright would be buried with him.” 🩸
“In the darkness, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun.” 🌻
Two souls, reunited.

& bouncing off of that, i’ve also got a modern au running through my head as I listen to Abstract (psychopomp), and it’s just Achilles having an oh moment while he’s driving patroclus home after a sixth or seventh date.
they run into some poor injured animal that’s been abandoned by the side of the road, and patroclus dashes out of the car to go check on it. Achilles tries to stop him while the other weaves through traffic to get to the unmoving puppy, but pat doesn’t hear him. Achilles can only make his way slowly towards him, apologising to the people in the vehicles who had to stop abruptly while this mass of dark hair ran into the street without warning.
When he gets to him, Pat is hunched over, taking a closer look at the puppy and achilles’ heart is still racing from the fear-inducing adrenaline rush that shot through him while he watched his date run into the road. When Pat gets up, he’s scooped the little bundle of fur—it’s shivering and dirty, but alive—into his arms and wrapped his scarf around it. He’s looking at Achilles with the biggest most beautiful brown eyes in the world, and his gaze glitters with unshed tears as he tells achilles that they have to go to a veterinary clinic . He looks radiant, ethereal, haloed under a streetlamp with a drizzle of rain pattering onto the earth.
Cars continue to pass by them, and world goes on, but Achilles can barely hear anything above the thundering roar of blood in his ears. Sees nothing besides the man standing before him. Trembles with the strange yet sure knowledge that he doesn’t know what he’d do if he’d lost Patroclus.
Oh, Achilles realises. This must be love.
They’ve known each other for a few months, and he’s in love with Patroclus already.
so many hozier songs keep giving me patrochilles brainrot these days. An au based on First Light where they never enlist in the war; achilles says no to odysseus and that’s that.
He and Patroclus go back to Pelion for a bit before moving to some quiet island of their own where they live out the rest of their days in soft, golden companionship because obscurity doesn’t always mean unhappiness. Yes he doesn’t get the prophesied glory or godhood his mother told him about, but he does forsake the extremities of his pride because he’d seen the tragedy it would bring at Troy. His parents had filled his head with their own visions and hopes and dreams for what he could be and Achilles had taken it on, thinking it was his own ambitions and dreams. But for the first time he chooses his own path, chooses happiness; a life with Patroclus.
He won’t achieve fame for sure, but he’ll live long with his love, and perhaps tutor future heroes with Chiron. He still has his grace, just doesn’t use it for the war that would stain his hands red and take the love of his life from him.
He lives, he lives, he lives, and is happy.
