Do you wish mileven was a slowburn ship?

oou, good question. one i’ve thought about. short answer— sometimes yes, sometimes no. although it would’ve been nice to see the slow pining and mutual yearning, i think the fast burn fits the context of the show. think about it, none of the st ships are really slowburn, jancy only took about a season and a half, lumax took a few episodes too. i think the entire point is that these kids are put in circumstances where they bond fast and have to trust each other— where they feel like, i just met you, but i feel like i’ve known you for years. very soulmate like, very special, i love it! i usually prefer slow burns but once again i just think it fits the show well

i cant stop thinking about this. he might’ve not known she was at the lab, but he did know she was with the government and most likely somewhere dangerous and not suited for him and just didn’t care because he just wanted to be with her. he’s insane

do you think mike and el will argue in s5? if so, what do you think they might argue abt?

think? i hope they argue. at first, a part of me wanted them to have this season to just be happy and in love but we know the duffers. i can see them having an almost repeat of their conflict in season 3 (el draining herself and mike protesting) except this time mikes not backing down. this time it’s less about her powers and more so her taking more of a burden than she can handle because she thinks it’s her responsibility to save max and end henry once and for all. i want mike to her tell her it’s not just her fight anymore, that it’s never been since they found her.

to get down to specifics, think this season she’ll do what she always does, try and go off on her own, and mike insisting well if you’re doing this then i’m coming with you. el obviously protests, never wanting to put mike in any danger. i think they’ll fight, mike frustrated with the love of his life always being so willing to sacrifice herself, and el unwilling resorting to being hurtful so he backs. he doesn’t back off, and now they’re on this high stakes mission together with high tension.

How do you think the Duffers are gonna handle Will’s gay storyline in s5

oouu this is good one. in my opinion, i think they’ll put way more emphasis on the unwavering and unconditional love and support joyce and jonathan’s have had and will continue to have for him.

sometimes when i rewatch season one and see the way joyce is going to the ends of the earth, making herself look crazy to find her son, the way her a jonathan grieve mourn and search… it’s like Wow. that’s real love. it can be amazing or poorly viewed by the audience depending on the execution. as a queer person myself, i do believe queer people deserve happy endings with a partner, but it’s equally as important and fulfilling to have a steady support system. to know he’s loved so intensely, no matter what.

mike walks el to class every day, every period. sometimes they take the long route and he’s late, he doesn’t care

once he gets his license he drives her and will to school every day. el is designated passenger princess, but he lets will control the radio (sparing them both from her full volume madonna)

mike is (unfortunately) on a strict ban from hopper when it comes to helping el with her homework, because to mike, helping = doing all of it for her

despite what many other people say, i don’t think they’d be SUPER keen on pda, like i don’t think they’d make out in front of everyone. but el definitely grabs onto mikes arms, play with his fingers and hair and they’d kiss occasionally in the mornings or when they reunite at lunch. and oh, the party makes sure to make a show of gagging every time

i just…. don’t like it? it’s a tv show ship. why people feel the need to write pages of (angry) college level dissertations when they don’t like ships is beyond me. idc if you do, i just don’t like it. if you need reason: i don’t see the potential, i don’t think it’s happening, i don’t think they’d look or be good together. also i cant lie, a large percent of bylers and their theories are misogynistic, ableist or just in bad faith, which just puts me off in general

and as for why i’m a mileven, i’m not going to write a whole essay (i can) i just i love them. they’re cute and sweet and tender and when a ship gives you the buzz, it gives you the buzz 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

What r all the mileven scenes u want in s5?

funny enough, i couldn’t sleep last night so i began brainstorming these in my head.

firstly, i think a big part of els arc in season 5 is going to be accepting help, realizing this isn’t just her burden to carry or only her fight to win. and i feel like mike will be a big part of that. i hope to see her open up more about her past and her fears.

another thing that’s really interesting, is that mike says he can’t lose her. in the past, whenever she’s left or put herself in harms way, it’s been out of his control, he lets her go. this time, i don’t think he will. i want him to beg her not to go, to fight her on it, to tell her she can’t keep doing this to herself. i want her to realize her well being and presence affects others.

i also really want to see them be a team. mike is the brains, he sees answers where others don’t, he understands el in a way others don’t. el is not only the brawn, but she also understands the upside down and henry in a way no one else does. i want more of that scene in season four where they go back and forth about her bathtub plan. i want them to stand side by side and roll their eyes together. i want someone to disagree with her and mike to go “hey— listen to her, she knows what she’s talking about.”

anddddd some cute couple stuff i want see is a lil cheek kiss, mikes arm around el and a tattoo kiss if we’re really lucky

Can you share your future mileven headcanons

YES. of course?? i’m guessing by future you mean domestic life and not so much high school (although i have MANY of those) so let’s go

they use the words “my wife” “my husband” in everyone possible sentence for the first couple of months

when mikes still getting his under grad (in either engineering, physics or english i haven’t fully decided) they live in a tiny shoebox apartment in the city. just them and a cat sharing a one bedroom, one bathroom and only tight kitchen and living room. but they love it. it’s home!

story of how they got their cat — she’s a stray el brought home. mike says absolutely not, she goes :( and he says FINE, because he can never say no to her

mike makes it his life mission to make sure el doesn’t work a day in her life. but he’s a student and moneys tight, and they’re a team, she emphasizes. so el works part time at the daycare, and a counsellor in the summer. she loves kids and they love her

they definitely go as romeo and juliet (1996) one halloween

OH and my favourite: they love to occasionally explore and try new things, but they’re homebodies. like, in bed by 10pm type. when lumax comes to visit, they’re APPALLED mike and els (in their early 20s) idea of a fun friday night is board game night.

mike is a TA to a lazy prof, so he spends a lot of time talking to students. he’s constantly on about “my wife my wife” so all his students are familiar with her. one day visits to drop of his lunch he forgot, and all his students gasp in awe and go EL! (she is so confused)

rant… i normally don’t talk about discourse here but like. a fic i saw on the ao3 inspired this and… i don’t understand why they can’t even write a cute will x oc fic without throwing a jab mileven and making el miserable and constantly disrespected w this…. warped perception they have of mike and how he views and treats her 🥴 el doesn’t have to be treated like shit by mike for will to realize he’s not a fit for him…. she’s not some type of tester😭😭 i know they can write whatever u want #tome it’s incredibly strange and weird to include. they do not like her and you can’t convince me otherwise 🤷‍♀️

I can't quite figure them out in my head but I know in my soul that Chrissy and El would have such a beautiful friendship. They feel like their trauma and social skills are the opposite in the same way.
