Hufflepuff: Hey, how come you don't try to make new friends?
Slytherin: Because to do that I'd have to perform an act of the thing I hate the most.
Hufflepuff: What?
Slytherin: Pretending I like people.

You’ll make your real friends,

I want good Slytherin representation
Can we please get some healthy Slytherin representation? Not Snape, not Voldemort, not Bellatrix, not evil people.
I want people to think of Regulus Black’s sacrifice when they hear the word Slytherin, about how noble a man Horace Slughorn is. I want them to remember how Narcissa Malfoy risked her life for her son, how Andromeda Black married a muggleborn despite her family’s disapproval, and rejected all of their racist bullshit. I want them to think about Draco lowering his wand, refusing to kill Dumbledore, about the great Merlin, the most famous wizard in history.
I want them to think about self preservation and determination, about resourcefulness and loyalty. I want them to relate Slytherin to our true values, to ambition, to leadership, to cunning, to pride. To fighting for our own people, to doing what needs to be done, to going through whatever it takes as long as it takes us where we want to go. To cleverness, to knowing how to talk people into and out of stuff, to knowing just what we want and how we want it. To knowing how to handle situations, to being able to get out of trouble unharmed.
Nobody’s perfect but, in the end, it’s not whether we are good or bad that gets us into one house or another; it’s our way of facing dilemas and carrying out situations, it’s the path we chose to take when we encounter a problem that determines where we belong, not our ideas, not our evilness or lack of it. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of people telling me that Slytherin is the evil house whenever I say I belong in it, let us have some good representation for a change.
