I don't think simple drama queen suits him, drama EMPRESS would be more accurate

Oh my god. Ozai wanted to kill zuko so azula could inherit the throne.
That was the point of the agni kai. Not that zuko had disrespected him. He just saw an opportunity to do it in a way that benefited him
And then well zuko did the one thing that could have forced ozai to allow him to live. He very publicly refused to fight. And a fire lord punishing and banishing his son is one thing, a fire lord publicly executing his kneeling, sobbing son is another.
Banishment had the same effect anyway.
Zuko would have died right there if he had actually tried to fight back. It's what he was supposed to do.

you know what. facts time
why your ship isn't canon:
zutara - the show is a) not 7 seasons long to fit all that development and b) not titled The Last (Southern) Waterbender. but you guys ignored those facts, took every zuko interaction and made it yours. and I can respect that.
tokka - bataar jr does indeed look like sokka and there was a blush that one time but unfortunately it is a little known fact that beifongs just. happen. (lao and poppy are outliers- married to become even richer together and to avoid talking to other rich people at boring parties. but make no mistake toph was brought by a badgermole)
mailee - the creators were cowards
zukka - the creators were cowards
tyzula - can only work as role play flirting and that would really strain the actresses' vocal cords, be nice
taang - do people really wanna see two little girls fall in love
sokkla - the visual would've been lethal to everyone around (except maybe aang and momo. appa would've eaten someone tho. crunch)
jetara - here comes the boy with his wheat and confidence and eyebrows. an actual threat to kaatang, sentenced to death by rock (the ONLY time someone is hit with a boulder and doesn't brush it off)
jetko - the comedic potential of this one was too great to make the final cut
azulaang - sir this is a kids show
azutara - ......zero surviors. the recording booth is either frozen or cinders. damn
azuredeem - the creators can't write that far

I'm rewarching season 2 and I can't get enough of how Azula completed everything her family couldn't do for 100 years as a side quest
her government-assigned task is to get zuko
the insane part is she pretty much got him after 5 minutes but the captain was an idiot
to not be updooded like that ever again she finds the only other 2 capable people in this nation
while acquiring the second one she just. runs into avatar. woulda got him if not for a king earthbending with his chin
then she just. decides to capture the avatar because why not. how hard can it be, it's a child and they leave trail of fur and smashed cabbages everywhere they go (zuko you idiot)
she runs into kyoshi warriors. she captures them and take their fans and facepaint (a secret thing that will be useful later and much later)
oh the avatar is going to ba sing se. you know what would be funny. if we got in by a hole in the great wall we just drilled (uncle iroh you idiot)
oh this city is kinda screwed. you know what would be funny. it we took over. with their own secret service (long feng you idiot)
she runs into katara who just info dumps how zuko is living his coffee shop au. might as well collect him, that is why she got here in the first place
oh look everyone is gathered. might as well seize the day. zuko is a hero :) and aang is dead :) and we kinda pretty much won the war (fire nation you idiots)
ALL IT TOOK WAS SOME STRATEGIC MEET-CUTES AND MAKEUP (ozai you idiot)

Atla The Rift sucks part 2
Avatar who ended the 100 year war wants to practice inner and outer peace at all times
The show contains lots of kid friendly violence. We lost count at the amount of bodies thrown up, down and around. We assume in kid-friendly fashion that they've made it to a soft bush or that their armor is easy to swim in
So why is Aang so against fighting thy enemies in a manner that might hurt them??
I would say that the conflict already happened Aang. Either you throw rocks at them or they at you. Such is the avatar world
You have got to be kidding me. What about all those Ba Sing Se guards you took down together??? They fell from some nice heights
Are you actually giving advice to a guy that's pissed because he can't earn money by burning, pillaging and conquering anymore???
The avatar is the bridge but that particular spirit is set on murdering everyone around. You might wanna think about that (what's the plan, beat him up until he gives up...and comes back later???)
The glasses acolyte gets it (bless his soul)
Toph is completely right, nothing to add here
Let me repeat that. You can't resolve things peacefully if you're dead and you have understood that concept so far, what's changed (the writers)
Also this is the same guy that promised to kill one of his best friends in 2 seconds. Make it make sense (they weren't on a field trip back then)
