Have you ever thought that the black hair colour just wasn't black enough?
If so, I've got an easy solution for you!
DISCLAIMER! I don't mean to be hateful or rude towards anyone. Everyone is free to do as they please with their own content (as long as it complies with EA:s TOS). The original black colour just doesn't fit my taste, that's all. I made this tutorial because I thought that there might be others who share my opinion but who might not know how to change the colour. With that said, I'd like to apologise in advance if this hurts or offends anyone.

Let's begin!
You'll need:
- Sims 4 Studio
- A photo editing program (e.g. Photoshop, Photopea, Gimp)
1) Open the hair you want to edit in Sims 4 Studio (double click on the package file).
2) Export the blue-black texture as a PNG and save it somewhere that's easy to access.
3) Open the PNG you just saved in your editing program of choice. I'll be using Photopea for this tutorial.
4) Add a 'Black & White' adjustment layer.
5) Add a 'Brightness/Contrast' adjustment layer and bring it all the way down to -150 or whatever you prefer.
6) Optional! You can flatten the image into one layer by right-clicking on any of the layers and then click on 'Flatten Image'. I personally don't bother though.
7) Save as a PNG and import it back into Sims 4 Studio. Save the package file.
That's it! Now you've got yourself a true black hair colour.
Important! If you use a Reshade preset, you need to take into account the way that preset changes colours, lighting etc. in the game. If you use a preset that darkens the colours, the hair colour might look odd if you adjusted the brightness exactly the way I did in this tutorial.

Just saw another early access add on pack where two of the items are just hairs slightly resized, and another is the kid's necklace converted to adults. I've already done the hair edits myself in like 10 mins and the necklace would probably take even less. I'll do that next and see about the other no doubt quick/lazy edits. I mean think about it, it's been two days and there's already whole "packs" releasing. Doesn't that just make it obvious they're just making yall pay for the exact same meshes you just paid for? Ppl really have no shame at all. DO NOT PAY FOR THE ADD-ON PACKS! They will be available free in the next few days at most. Then I'll be happy to share with anyone that wants them. Vote with your wallet here guys. And your attention- I don't even like/reblog those posts, answer wcif for those creators or link them in lookbooks. If yall can boycott EA yall surely can do the same for these money grubbers grifting off their meshes lol.

I've seen people creating, or converting, medium and long hair for infants. I'm sorry but you've clearly never seen an infant before. As a reminder, infants are between 0-1 years old. They barely have hair! Even if they do, it's just a few centimeters long! Jesus fucking christ. Let them look their fucking age.

I've been meaning to make this post for a while because there are always arguments and frustrations regarding WCIFs here on simblr. With new users and simblrs popping up every day, I thought it wise to take a few minutes to inform people on this topic as some people really might not even know what WCIF means or what the universally acceptable way to approach WCIF asks is.
WCIF is shorthand for "where can I find..."
If you are a simblr, it is a good idea to clarify in your blog's bio if you are open to messages asking about cc, that way people visiting your blog don't have to guess. You can indicate this by saying you are either WCIF Friendly or WCIF Unfriendly/No WCIFs. If someone is WCIF friendly, it means that they welcome messages in their ask box regarding where to find a certain mod, piece of cc, etc. If someone is WCIF unfriendly, this means they do not welcome messages in their ask box of this nature.
When someone is WCIF unfriendly, you should respect their terms and boundaries by not sending them a message asking where to find something for the sims. Yes, this means even "well-intended" asks that are ultra polite are not welcome to them (which is perfectly okay). Instead, first check if the user has a "CC Finds" sideblog where they reblog the cc they use.
If they don't have a "CC Finds" blog where they essentially archive the cc they use, you can make a post on your own blog with a screenshot (with a link to the original post) and/or a description of the cc you're looking for and tag it as public wcif, this way people can respond if they know what the mod or cc is. There are also reddit threads for sims 4 wcifs you can post on. If you don't want to do any of that, try googling it by description! You'd be surprised how intuitive the results can be.
On the other hand, if someone is WCIF friendly they are open to helping you find a specific piece of cc for the sims, but you should always send them a WCIF in their ask box, not through a private message or a comment on their post. This is so they can make one public post and avoid inquiries about the same cc over and over again. They will likely tag these posts on their page as "WCIF," so be sure to check their tags before you ask them about a piece of cc because they might have already linked to it in a different ask!
It should go without saying, but even though someone is WCIF friendly this doesn't mean you can disregard kindness when it comes to asking someone a favor. Say hi, ask politely (please and thank you go a long way ya know!), and be patient. People who are wcif friendly choose to take their time to link cc for others, so they're doing you a favor...be nice!
I think I covered the basics as simply as I could; the most important thing is to remember that there are real people on the other side of simblr blogs, and whether they have 13,000 followers or 3 they deserve to be respected. Just be kind and respect people's boundaries. I hope this helps someone, and if you didn't know about any of this... now you know! 👍

guide to reporting pay-wallers and unethical early access CC creators!
do you hate when you find a piece of custom content for your sims game and when you try to download it, you either have to wait several months or just pay the creator directly to get it? me too.
while early-access is allowed, the maximum to have been stated is 3 weeks of waiting time. many creators, however, go against this rule and have people waiting months. they might even go the extra mile to permanently paywall it and make it an exclusive to their donors.
this, obviously, violates the rules the sims team have set out for the community. so what are we gonna do? report them!
it can be difficult or scary for some because you might not know how to report them, but there's also so many! that's where this guide comes in.
because the sims team logically cannot police every part of the sims fan community, it is up to us to report rulebreakers and unethical practices when we spot them.
NOTE: this tutorial might change over time as more effective methods might be discovered in the future. this is merely how i go about reporting these people.
on the help.ea.com website, click on the big letters: CONTACT EA.
2. they'll ask you to select a game and you'll click on the sims 4.
3. click whichever platform you play on, PC or MAC, and then select "report concerns or harassment".
4. when prompted to select an issue, select "report website".
5. you will then click on "select contact option", and then enter your contact details in the boxes provided on the next page.
6. you will then find yourself on this page:
fill out the subject and text box however you'd like, but make sure to be clear that the creator is going against the guidelines regarding custom content. be sure to include links to the website in the text box, even specific posts, and not just the URL box.
if you'd like a template of what to say, i have one here.
7. take screenshots as well. if a creator suspects they've been reported, they may try to remove content to try and backtrack. these screenshots are evidence.
8. you will insert the URL of their patreon/website/wherever they're hosting the content in the URL box.
9. in the "what about this website do you feel is inappropriate?" box, i very much recommend you select on "other".
considering this is a bit specific compared to the other options available, i want to make sure that these reports can be seen and not immediately discarded because they didn't fix exactly within the compounds of that one option, etc.
10. you will then press the "email us" button, and you're done!
EA will email you about your case, including your case number and any further updates on it. they may not respond or do anything at first, so keep that in mind.
i do not recommend nor suggest spamming reports either. if they have not responded to your report or have closed it (without taking action), enter another report again after 4-7 days.
it is up to us to report rulebreakers and unethical practices when we spot them.

Hi. It's me. Your long lost cc creator. Here's an update on the situation with this blog.
I'm making a new logo (again). The one I currently have is too complicated to use in cc and I'm honestly a bit tired of it..
I'll have a lot more time in the first half of this semester so I plan on ending my hiatus. Now I just need to force myself to finish my damn projects and not abandon them like I've done 99% of the time.
I have so many ideas. One of those ideas is to create "brand" jewellery with my own logo to imitate real life designer items and haute couture clothing. There's so much basic clothing cc (no offense) out there and this game is in dire need of more statement pieces. I'm also considering making outfits specifically designed for in-game celebrities and other notable townies that would be appropriate for galas etc. Something along the lines of a 'Del Sol Valley Gala'. It's a big project but I've already (almost) finished a dress for Octavia Moon so I hope I can see it through this time.
That was all for now. I hope I'll make a proper comeback this time!

please do not use the simblreen tag to advertise early access or paywalled items.
please do not participate in simblreen if your items are going to be paywalled during or after the event. that includes releasing halloween items temporarily or paywalling it till next year.
no one is making you participate but choosing to do this to purposely trick new people and dilute what this event is about is downright disgusting and manipulative behaviour.
this event is 10 years old and is meant to be a gift to the sims community on tumblr. if you can’t find it in your heart to give to this community (without a paywall), do not use that tag to make money off said community.

do not make your money off manipulating others.
