Lactose intolerant Keith
I've noticed that a majority of lactose intolerant people JUST DON'T CARE. I'm lactose intolerant, and when I meet others who are the same, we literally discuss how much we'll regret eating the dairy products we're chowing down on at that moment, but do iT ANYWAY just because it tastes good. I'm sorry, but lactose intolerant people are extremely hardcore, and I'm so glad that my hardcore baby has this fanon feature.

Voltron AU Idea
What if Lance had been the older one that had been on Kerberos and captured with the Holts at the beginning of the series?
Like, Shiro, Keith, Hunk and Pidge are the ones that were about the same ages while Lance graduated beforehand but I personally accept the theory that Hunk and him were childhood friends so that connection would remain.
And it would be fascinating to me, because unlike canon Shiro who’s respected by the world at large for his piloting skills, Lance is an average pilot, but he’s liked. Like you know Lance, and if you don’t then you know someone who knows Lance. About a fifth of the kids who are in the piloting classes are there because Lance is such a cool guy who achieved his dreams despite not being “the best pilot ever” and that inspires people to work to achieve their dreams as well.
We would get to see how a more mature Lance may act, where he’s had time to become the friendly, loyal, and charismatic person he can be, who is capable of amping people up for anything and calming them down.
And - as much as people will never admit it - a government cover up that claims it was a piloting error that killed the team would be more readily believed because Lance is still an average pilot, he can still make mistakes, and the public would know this.
Only Pidge (and Hunk if Pidge finds out his connection to Lance and tells him) would know that wasn’t the case, and that would also explain Hunk’s determination to become a pilot despite his motion sickness - he wants to find his best friend/brother.
And then there’d be Keith and Shiro in the same class year. I don’t know if Keith would still leave due to anger issues or if having a steady presence like Shiro in class that he would occasionally work with would help him out, so that could go either way.
Anywho, when Lance and the Holts are captured, it would be interesting to see how Lance would respond to being a gladiator. Because Shiro appears to have always been a pretty calm and stern person, and so the arena hardened him. Lance feels like the kind of person who, when things look bleak and someone’s trying to keep you down, stays positive and friendly out of sheer spite.
So I could see him becoming battle-hardened and weary, but I can also see him offering his cellmates a smile, making jokes and telling long-winded stories (that the others in the prison stopped believing quite a while ago) about his achievements and the things human civilization has done that weren’t the most thought out.
I don’t know if he’d be called the Champion, but he could.
His hair could turn white from the trauma, be it a few strands or all of them. He may not have a scar on the bridge of his nose, but the neck or mouth or near his eye could be interesting.
Metal arm, again feasible and interesting, though potentially heartbreaking as he might have difficulty swimming with it (though that in turn could lead to him taking it off to swim, which would be quite the myriad of emotions).
And then there’s the interesting part to me: I think Shiro would still be the Black Paladin, and imagine the ride that would be. Shiro thinking the eldest among them should be the leader despite Shiro having quite the knack for it, Lance not really wanting to be the leader anyway but content to possibly take on the mediator position, the group struggling on how to interact with Lance because he’s not the leader but they still think they need to defer to him.
Also, imagine Lance, a little delirious from having just escaped from the Galra and government, saved by a childhood friend he hasn’t been in close proximity to in years (though they video chatted whenever possible) and a ragtag bunch of strangers (and Pidge because he may be oblivious but he’s seen a photo of the Holt family and he’s good with faces), immediately needing his wits about him as he pilots the Blue Lion and gets them to safety.
I don’t know, this just sounds so fun, guys.
