Holly laughed a little when Will admitted he hadn’t recognized her at first, which wasn’t too surprising to her. She had been friends with one of his foster siblings back in high school but that was about six years ago at this point. And they haven’t seen much of one another since then. “It’s okay, I’ve changed my hair since that last time we saw each other,” she joked. “And I think I might have gotten a little taller! So, you know, lots of changes…”
Holly tilted her head back as the dog began to lick her. She didn’t mind it but she didn’t want him to get all over her face. “Aw. Hi, Trey,” she greeted the dog, running her fingers through his fur. “Oh, I think that’s totally normal. I mean, I’m not an expert but one of my neighbors has a dog walking company and I’m pretty sure she’s said that their puppy stage lasts a few years. So, he’s allowed to get super excited to meet new people. Right, Trey?”
Tumblr media
He made a show of sizing her up after her explanation. “Well, your hair looks great.” he replied with a chuckle. It had been a while since he’d seen Holly, but after his foster sibling left town, it was good to see her. In a way, it was like he was getting a piece of his old life back by seeing Holly. She reminded him of ‘the good old days.’ Not that there was anything wrong with life not, just... he had had a wonderful experience in the Archer household.
He grinned, “I suppose it is better than him hating meeting new people, right?” Sure, Trey’s hyperactivity could be a bit much, but Will wouldn’t trade it for a grumpy, unfriendly dog any day. “Your neighbor wouldn’t happen to be Zara Vasquez, would it?” he asked curiously.

kotaspencer:
Kota
Dakota knew exactly what it was like to leave all this behind. It was necessary and something that each person should do to understand the world around them. Homestead was a small town with a small town mindset, there was very little that compared. And that is exactly why she needed to venture away, discover who she was. Even if her path brought her right back to the home that raised her, she knew that it was by choice.
But it was hard to not miss the clear blue waters of this place. The coves that actually produced half way decent waves or even the more calm beaches perfect for paddle boarding. Though a small town, it was still a paradise of sorts. And for some unknown reason, Dakota refused to let Will forget it as he returned home.
She laid on the slippery surface of her board, watching as her friend returned to shore. Getting back into shape was never easy, but not everyone’s job allowed them to be on the beach all day. She couldn’t blame him, but that didn’t mean she was going to take it easy on him. He would of done the same thing if the roles were reversed.
With the sand clinging to her feet and ankles, Kota returned to their camped out spot beneath the shade of the low hanging palm tree. The day was perfect and the beach was empty, just the way she preferred it. It was more of an experience, more of a feeling than anything else she could imagine or share. Only those with a heart for the ocean really could appreciate these moments. “What’s that supposed to mean? I’m getting older to? Not a chance, I’m 21 still”, she scoffed, occupying the towel next to his own. “I told you, if you eat less of that junk you’ll feel a ton better.”
Tumblr media
He chuckled at her assertion. “We both know once you hit 21, you never aged again, Kota.” he teased, reaching over and poking her playfully in the side. To be fair, the Kota would probably always be able to pass for a younger age. She was too pretty not to. Will on the other hand... well, his blonde companion was right. He ended up eating out far too often each week. Cooking healthy, well balanced meals for himself just never managed to make it to his list of top priorities. And Will lived his life checking one item off that list after another.
He let out a sigh as he leaned his head back and closed his eyes. “I know, I know.” he groaned his acknowledgment of how right she was. “You and Dela keep getting on my case about how crappy I eat.” he explained. “But cooking a full meal for one is so boring.”

Rhys
"Sure, Cal.” Will sighed as he stepped out of Calvin Wyle’s home office, having just agreed to give his nephew a ride. Will had been working on Mr. Wyles’ accounts (and there were many of them) for the entire year he’d been back in Homestead. Mr. Wyles was was easily one of the most financially well off members of the Homestead community and Will was definitely one of its’ best accountants. The two were perfect for each other.
And in that year that Will had worked for Cal, he had inevitably run into the producer’s nephew, Rhys several times. So when he found Rhys waiting for him at the entryway to his uncle’s house, Will made a show of rolling his eyes. “Your uncle doesn’t pay me enough to be the chauffeur to his punk of a nephew.” he grumbled as he opened the door and walked out to where he had parked his car. Of course, Will didn’t actually dislike the kid... but he sure as hell did like giving him a hard time.

adelaidexarcher:
W I L L I A M :
Her brother rolls his eyes and she giggles unashamedly before taking a sip of her drink. It was moments like that which were her favourite: the simple little ones that made it impossible to feel like they weren’t family. Shrugging lightly, she sees little point in arguing something that they both know he’s right about, besides lateness was simply a part of her. “You probably better hadn’t, I’d hate to be responsible for you passing out.”
A playful pout sits on her lips as he effectively shuts down her questioning. “Come on, Will, there must be someone.” Her voice is pleading, trying to wheedle anything useful out of him. He was a great guy, possibly the best she knew, and for that Adelaide wanted the best for him and things that would bring him happiness. It wasn’t so much that she thought he needed someone in his life, more that he deserved to have someone who loved him in a way that she and their family couldn’t. Maybe it was a double standard when she had yet to settle down with anyone but that was easily defended when she still had years to go. Still, she lets the topic shift to his dog when she adores the animal, finding Trey’s energy contagious whenever she gets to spend time with him. “I hope he’s not calmed down too much, I love how boisterous and rambunctious he is! I’ll have to stop by sometime and make sure you’re still giving him enough fun.”
Tumblr media
He grinned at her admission. Dela being late was not a new thing in the Archer family. And if he were honest, though it got on Will’s nerves sometimes, as ALL sibling quirks do, he wouldn’t change the characteristic about his sister. It was all apart of her charm and Will loved her for it.
“You know it’s on the list, Dela.” he replied, referring to the list of things Will wanted for himself but hadn’t given himself because of his work habits. “There’s just not a line of women out the door waiting on a workaholic accountant.” he added with a shrug. Forcing himself to open up to relationships more, romantic or platonic, was a reason why Will had moved back to Homestead. However, as great as it had been to connect again with a lot of the people he had left when he moved away, Will didn’t seem to be making a lot of progress on that front. He was having a hard time giving up his work obsessed ways. And it wasn’t exactly conducive to starting up a dating life.
“I swear, you two are personality twins.” he added, referring to his dog and Dela. They both had an infectious energy that made being around them impossible to be anything other than happy. “But I’m sure he would love that. I try to keep him entertained, but Lord knows I can’t keep up with him the way you can!” he added with a chuckle, taking another sip of his drink. “How’re things with you?” he asked after a beat, knowing full well that Dela would be happy to let the conversation center on him, even if she had something going on in her life.

Darcy just laughed and tilted her head as she looked at him. “I know. But it seems like you didn’t require a good kick right now, so I am either doing something really good and you will just go along with anything I suggest,” she said, knowing full well that it cannot be it, Will is just not that kind of person, plus she doubted he would be willing to go along with all of her suggestions, “or these rolls look too delicious even for you.”
Tumblr media
“If you’re getting old, I am getting old too, so you’re not allowed to get old,“ she pointed with her fingers as if she was scolding her, but her eyes glinted with the joke. She put her weight onto her forearms and watched Will with strong focus to see how he reacted, if he would like the cinnamon rolls as much as she did, and burst into a grin when he declared how much he loved them. “Told you they were amazing,“ she said smugly and then reached for one of the croissants. “Thanks,“ she smiled at him. “I’ve been good too, nothing too interesting. Though, speaking of surfing, the other day I went out with Dakota, and let me just tell you, surfing is hard.“ She was in the water longer than she spent on that board.
He chuckled at her suggestions as to why Will had agreed to go along with her latest scheme. Truth be told, it was becoming easier and easier for Will to agree to Darcy’s suggestions. Was it because more and more of her ideas turned out to actually be enjoyable? Or was it because he was simply having a harder time saying no to her? “Maybe it’s a little bit of both.” he answered, replying to his own thoughts as well as her question.
He threw up his hands in surrender, “Fine, fine! But everybody knows you could never be old, Darc.” She was far too carefree about life for age to ever catch up with her. He grinned as he took another bite of the afore mentioned amazing cinnamon roll. “Wow.” he paused to place his hand on his chest for dramatic effect. “I’m a little bit hurt that you went surfing without me.” he teased. There were few people Will could be this playful with. Darcy was one of them.

· · · · ··“I don’t want to appose on coming over too much with Asher, I mean he would enjoy it because of Trey.” Rosalie shakes her head, she thought it was kind that Will was more than willing to let Asher have some time with Trey, filling the void of wanting a pet as much as each visit could happen. It was a nice thought, one she wouldn’t deny accepting but knew that there was a limit on how much time she came by. The sly smile that his mother would give her when she questions how things are going between her son and herself, at first she thought it was just a curious question but she was starting to catch on with each question and smile she gave them when she was near or maybe it was all in her head on the fact she found William attractive.·
“I’ll be sure to let him know when he starts fighting his sleep. You know toddlers are like drunk adults, cry when things get hard and always eating. Probably not the best examples but that’s how I see it.” She turned her gaze away and back towards Asher who was slightly running and giggling loudly, falling to the ground which had her freeze waiting for the cry before getting up and doing it again.·“But I do also think of when I get off work to be able to go home and try to nap.”·
Tumblr media
“Trey would love to have you two.” he paused, turning his gaze from his dog and Asher to look over at Rosalie.·“And I guess I could live with it.” he teased, laughing a little and offering her a wink to show he was kidding. God knew Will’s apartment could use a little bit more·‘life’ in it. Sure, Trey was lively enough for the two of them, but Will knew he couldn’t deny how boring his home life was. He’d easily created a routine for himself, as he loved to do, but that routine was slowly becoming far, far too predictable with nothing ever changing. He needed more of a social life.·
He chuckled at her comparison.·“Now that you put it that way, that makes a lot of sense.” he agreed with a nod.·“If you ever want a break, so you can take a nap or whatever after work, I’m sure babysitter Trey could take Asher for an hour or two after school.” he offered after a moment. Maybe Will was offering more than was appropriate, maybe he was embedding himself a little too much into Rosalie and Asher’s life, but it felt good to be around a family again and even more so, Will had always respected his mother so much, that he couldn’t help but respect Rosalie.·

Nadia felt a surge of sympathy for the older woman. She herself had managed to avoid the spreading illness but she saw it in her clients and friends and it seemed fairly miserable. She moved to the other side of the cabinet where she kept echinacea and ginger. Gathering a bit of each in small bags, she went across the room and got menthol oil to add to the bunch before taking the products to William.
“Some of the oil in a humidifier will be good for her and the herbs in some lemon water with honey will do her wonders until it passes.” She raised her shoulder at his questions, moving back to her boxes now that he had something for his mother. “My grandmother never believed in hospitals and modern medicine, so I grew up learning about home remedies for everything. I had three siblings so one of us was usually sick with something."
Tumblr media
He gratefully accepted the items she offered him. “Thanks, Nadia.” he said gratefully. “I’m sure she’ll appreciate it just as much as I do.” It really did mean a lot that she would go out of her way to offer some sort of relief for his mom. Nadia was definitely getting brownie points in Will’s eyes. The fact that she cared enough about Mrs. Archer beyond just getting paid by her was impressive.
Will nodded as he turned back around to face her. “Ah, it all makes sense now.” he commented with a smile. Will hated taking any form of medication too. “Your grandmother sounds like an interesting woman.” he added after a moment, offering up an invitation to talk more about her if Nadia was interested. The eldest Archer loved hearing about people’s families and how the relationships with them formed who that person had become over the years.

williamtarcher:
Holly’s whole life was pretty much at the beach. She worked there, she played here and she collected shells there. It was something silly she had done since she was a little kid, something she wasn’t sure she’d ever fully out grow. But anytime she went to the beach, she’d bring along a small bucket, one made for children to make sand castles with and she’d walk up and down the shore line looking for the pretty shells she could spot.
That’s exactly what she was doing when a big dog came hurtling toward her. She had caught the mass of fur out of the corner of her eye, just at the last minute and was able to brace herself for impact. Laughter spilled out of the small girl as the dog jumped up against her and started to lick her face. Holly tried to tilt her head back to avoid another tongue to face moment.
“He’s so cute though,” she laughed, leaning down to pet the dog once he had been pulled back from her. “A cute, rambunctious thing! What’s his name?” She asked, looking up to the dog’s owner.
Tumblr media
“Oh hey, Holly! Didn’t realize it was you.” Will greeted when he finally realized who it was. Holly had been a friend of one of Will’s foster siblings. The pair had spent all their time together and so Holly had become quite a staple at the Archer house for a couple years. She’d become an unofficial little sister, one Will was happy to take on big brother duties for.
When he realized Holly was ok with dogs, or at least seemed to like Trey enough to give him a second chance after he almost bulldozed her over, he slackened his hold on the dog’s leash a bit, allowing him to move closer to Holly and lick her. “Trey and he should have grown out of this puppy stage at least three months ago.” Will answered shaking his head as he looked down at his dog, shaking his head affectionately. “New people-” he paused as he reconsidered what he had been about to say and laughed, “Hell, people in general, just make him really, really excited.”

zaravasquez:
Zara
The first few months of the year were always busy. People got puppies for Christmas, and once the wonder wore off, people paid to stick them with Zara. Why walk a dog when you could pay someone else to do it? That wasn’t always the case. Sometimes, Zara offered to do it for free. After all, she wasn’t in this for the money—sure, it was a perk, and it’s what allowed her to live, but at the end of the day, Zara was only ever in this for the dogs. With Will back in town, with a new addition to his family, she couldn’t resist. Took him, as well as four other pups, on an hour-long walk. She’d mapped out the trail in a round-about way, so she’d eventually circle back around to drop off each dog with their owner. Except, for Will and Trey, their meeting point was at the beach.
When they hit the sand, Zara let Trey off his lead. Will was sunbaking on a towel. The dog ran to him, sand flying all over. Zara slipped off her sneakers and held them in her hands before slowly following. She wrapped the dog lead around her knuckles, and when Will stood to greet her, she waved him away. Dumped her shoes by his surfboard. “Sit, sit.” The soles of her feet were starting to ache. There was almost nothing better than the feeling of sand between her toes.
“No, he was a good boy. I think he liked being with the other dogs. Saw how they were behaving and followed suit, y’know?” Zara wiggled into a spot on the sand, scratching under Trey’s chin. “How was the water?” All her life spent in Homestead, by the beach, and Zara had never learned how to surf. She liked to swim and snorkel, but she’d never been good on a board. Trey jumped into her lap, and Zara chuckled. “Are you a good boy? Huh?”
Tumblr media
Will greeted his dog affectionately. Sure, Trey’s rambunctious attitude might get on his nerves sometimes, mostly just when he was around other people, but Will loved his dog and the companionship that came along with owning him. Trey forced Will to think about something other than work when few things could and he was infinitely grateful to the canine for that.
At Zara’s insistence, Will sat down, smiling as Zara did too. He was glad for the company. “Well, if he starts behaving like any of the other dogs around new things, people, places,” Will started naming off a list of things that got Trey overly excited, counting them on his fingers before looking back at Zara and shaking his head with a laugh. “I’ll be grateful.” he added.
He leaned back on his elbows as he looked out at the waves crashing before them. “It was great.” he replied to her question, and with the way he said it, you could tell he really meant it. “It’s kinda the one place I can forget about everything, you know?” he asked, drawing his eyes back up to her, before laughing at his dog’s clear love for Zara. He reached over and tweaked Trey’s ear affectionately. “Pretty soon, he’s not going to want to come home to me, anymore!” he teased.

aidenfoster:
WILLIAM ARCHER.
As much as Aiden loved the beach it was rare he’d find himself on the beach that everyone seemed to come to. If anything he’d find spots that weren’t public spots and he’d hide out there just so he’d be alone. He may have acted like a pretty outgoing guy at times but he was more inverted than he’d probably like to admit.
Deciding to do something different rather than hiding off in his own world, Aiden sat on the beach and looked around at the different people that were spending their day there. There were a few people in the water, some sitting on the beach but not as much as he would’ve expected, a few runners and walkers going by, and some occasional beach bikers. All Aiden could think to do was put his earbuds in and listen to his music on shuffle. Shuffle meaning he’d skip through a dozen songs before listening to a good dozen and repeating the pattern only to decide to listen to one certain artist.
It was then he was pushed back slightly by the dog and he felt it’s tongue against his cheek. Scrunching up his eyes a little Aiden leaned back enough to look at the dog only to see how familiar he was. Raising his hand, he ruffled his fingers through Trey’s hair.
“Clam down, it’s just me. I’m not gonna sue your dog for trying to attack me.” He joked when William apologized. Aiden happened to like dogs, love them even. There was a good possibility even if he didn’t know Trey or WIll, he would still be okay with the situation. For a broody guy he sure did love himself a good dog or two.
Tumblr media
When Will realized just who Trey had decided to slobber all over, he immediately let go of his leash. Aiden knew Trey, knew him well enough to shove him away if he got too excited. Plus, Will didn’t care if Aiden got a face full of dog slobber. It was Aiden after all. He could stand to be licked in the face by a dog.
“Well good, then I won’t sue you for getting my dog overly hyper after I had just calmed him down.” Will grumbled as he took a seat next to Aiden. It was common knowledge, especially to Aiden who had run ins similar to this with Trey at least once a week, that the dog was a spazz. He got far too excited, far too easily and while Will tried to give him more exposure to being around new people in new environments, the dog never seemed to loose his energy. Every time they ran into Aiden during their walks through the woods, Trey went mental as if he hadn’t seen Aiden in years!
Will reached over and pulled Trey towards him, commanding him to sit between him and Aiden, although the dog continued to frantically move back and forth, licking both of them right after each other. “So, you’re hanging out in a much more populated area than I expected.” Will stated, although he was sure Aiden could tell it was more of a question.

hc + cooking
Will is actually a GREAT cook, that is, if he can ever set aside enough time to actually do so? tbh, cooking a full meal for himself is not very high on his priority list when he considers all he ‘has to do’ each day, so he orders a lot of takeout or goes out to eat.
hc + nickname
The only two nicknames Will’s ever really had stick are Will (which he prefers to William) and ‘Archer.’ His coworkers at his old firm knew him primarily as Archer and since Will’s so proud to be an Archer, he is totally ok with being called by it.
hc + soft spot
Will has a huge soft spot for his family. As a kid, he wanted a ‘normal’ family so much that when the Archer’s adopted him, he was THRILLED. Since then, he’s had a soft spot for pretty much everyone in the family, but especially his mother. Now that he’s back in Homestead, Will spends just as much time with his mother; doing odd jobs around the house, driving her places, etc., as anything else. All that being said, Will just has a soft spot for families in general.
hc + memories
Some of Will’s favorite memories are the summers he had as a teenager where he and his family would spend entire days at the beach. His mom would pack a cooler full of snacks, a picnic lunch, and drinks and his dad would set up a tent and they’d spend the entire day playing in the ocean, lounging in the shade of the tent, surfing, and going for long walks on the beach.

Will’s wardrobe is always very neat and clean cut. Being an accountant not only seeps into Will’s personality, but also in how he dresses as well. He likes the control that nicely ironed polos and clean sweaters afford him.

Rosalie couldn’t stop smiling as she watched her son looking happy when he spotted the dog coming near him, the stick all forgotten as he started patting the top of Trey’s head. “He really is a good dog, I mean Asher certainly loves him, so I don’t see anything wrong with that.” In all honesty, she wanted to get Asher an animal perhaps a cat or even a dog but her apartment didn’t allow her to animals. She would get a fish, but the idea of having to take the fish out of the tank was scary enough. “I’m certain it was your dog that had Asher suddenly wanting a pet, but since the place we’re staying at doesn’t allow dogs or cats, he’s just gonna have to stick with seeing Trey around.”
She could remember the time she started speaking with Will’s mother, at the time she was pregnant and alone, uncertain of how she would be a mother to a kid when she barely could take care of herself at the time while juggling with schooling. She can for a fact thank his mother for sending William into to her life to help with the smallest things in her place from a leaking faucet to even fixing the door handle. Rosalie patted the spot next to her on the towel with a friendly smile on her face, “Do you even have to ask? Of course you can. I was just out catching some sun and making sure Asher gets a little oxygen in his system so he can sleep early tonight. He’s been fighting his sleep and claims he wants to be a big boy and stay up late.”
Tumblr media
He grinned, nodding in agreement as he watched the dog and boy together, happy that Rosalie liked Asher spending time with Trey. In Will’s mind, dogs really were mans’ best friend and getting to experience that from a young age was crucial for kids. When she pointed out that dogs weren’t allowed at her place, he let out a frustrated sigh. “You know you’re always welcome to borrow Trey, right? Or even just come over to let Asher play with him? The door’s always open.” he offered. If they couldn’t get a dog of their own, Will was happy to let Trey fill that void.
He happily sat down next to her, looking over at Rosalie as she explained Asher’s current disdain for sleep. “Well, you can tell him that this ‘big boy,’” he paused to make quotation marks in the air with his hands, “absolutely loves getting to go to bed early.” he replied with a grin. “God, I honestly can’t tell you how many times a day I dream about going to bed early!”

lorenascortes:
Lorena had made her way down to the beach, with some free time to kill before having to head into work and do some admin, the beach had always been was her favorite detour and she was glad to have some time to herself and bury herself back into the book she’d started reading the night before.
Lorena had been totally unaware of anyone around her, her eyes so focused on the book she’d been reading. In truth, she was in awe of the author and their skill with words. But before she could turn the next page, she was hit by the unexpected attention of a dogs affection causing her to drop her book onto the sand. It took her a moment to push it back enough to see that it was a dog she knew.
The moment she heard Will’s voice trailing after the puppy, she wanted to laugh. “Hello puppy, hello,” she giggled to the dog. She’d been so caught up in half fighting off the puppy dog kisses and half playing with Trey that it took her a moment to respond. “Oh you know I don’t mind this little rascal,” she chuckled at him in response, “Though I think you’re pretty lucky that it was me and not someone less friendly. Even if I’ve probably lost the page of my book.”
Tumblr media
Will let out a sigh of relief when he realized it was Lorena. She knew Trey, hence why he was so overly excited probably, and liked him enough that Will knew she wouldn’t mind the slobber fest. He was also relieved it wasn’t some stranger, or even just an acquaintance that he’d have to spend time awkwardly explaining things to. Lorena was comfortable, easy even, to be around. They had initially bonded over their businesses and now he could honestly say she had become a friend. A pretty big feat for Will.
He plopped down on the sand beside the brunette and picked up her book for her. “Yeah, I’ve been trying to get him to heel.” he explained with a shrug as he wiped the sand off the book. “He does a pretty good job,” he paused to push Trey’s wandering nose away from his face, “until he sees something more exciting, aka most everything.” Will rolled his eyes. “Apparently, you are way more exciting than obeying his master.” he teased, nudging her shoulder playfully with his.

Darcy let out a chuckle as she raised her arms up in a defensive gesture. “Hey, didn’t mean to say anything about your choice. Croissants are delicious, and I figured you’d have your go-to pastry,” she smiled at him. “But if you ever want to venture off, I am pretty sure you couldn’t go wrong with anything here,” she added.
“Hmm… what about a booth over there by the windows?“ she asked after quickly looking around, pointing towards one of them. Once they got settled, she opened up her box, broke a small piece off from one of the rolls and then turned it towards Will. “Take your pick, and be prepared to be blown away, it really is delicious.“ She quickly ate the piece in her hand and restrained herself from moaning, though was so good, it would have deserved it. “How are you doing, by the way? Haven’t seen you in a couple of days.“
Tumblr media
“Well, you know how I am, Darc.” he replied. “Doing anything new requires a good kick in the ass.” Will rolled his eyes at himself. It was mostly true. The man was a fan of routine and knowing what you liked and not big on surprises. But somehow, Darcy had a way of getting him to let go of that every once in a while and do something different. He didn’t always like it, but at least he could say that he did it.
He followed her to the booth she’d pointed out and easily sat across from her, setting his croissants down on the table. As she opened the box, he caught a whiff of the cinnamon rolls. He had to admit, they did smell amazing. “I’ve been good, been spending more time out surfing which is always good, but reminds me how old I’m getting.” he replied with a chuckle before reaching forward and taking bite. He made a big show of taking his time tasting the pastry, as if really trying to decide if he liked it or not. “Okay, you were right. These are amazing!” he finally admitted. “Help yourself.” he offered, pushing his croissants forward. “What about you, Darc? How’ve you been?” he asked.

Kota
Being out in the waves was honestly one of Will’s favorite things to do. He found peace in the unpredictability of the waves. It was one of the few places in life that he allowed himself to not be in control of his surroundings. He was at the mercy of the waves crashing around him and he loved it, had missed it far more than he realized during all the years he’d spent away from Homestead. But now that he was back, he was slowly, painfully slowly, getting back on his feet. Literally.
A lot of that, was thanks to Kota dragging him out to catch the morning surf. If he were honest, it probably would have been too easy for Will to let himself be consumed by getting his business started, getting settled, and everything else that came with moving  to have gotten back on his board initially. There were always too many other things to prioritize than things he truly enjoyed. That’s just the way his life worked. Priorities had to be made and things he simply did for fun, were not allowed to be on that list.  But Kota hadn’t allowed that. Having grown up as family friends, the blonde knew how much Will had enjoyed surfing as a teenager and shortly after arriving back in Homestead, she’d convinced him to join her in the ocean. Over the year that he’d been back, his joining her for a surf became more frequent and her convincing needed to be less persistent as he fell back in love with the sport.  Today was one of those days. Will had prepared by having coffee ready when Kota showed up at his door and after quickly drinking it, the two headed to the beach. They were out in the waves for an hour or two before Will finally decided to head back to shore. He caught Kota’s attention and waved towards the sand, indicating he was heading in but that she could continue. He plopped down on one of the towels they had laid out prior to hitting the waves, letting the sun dry him out. When he felt a shadow hover over him a few minutes later, he looked up at Kota, a grin on his face. “Man, I am definitely getting older.” he admitted with a groan, referring to how wiped out he felt. Yes, it had been an amazing ride out there, but he wasn’t in quite as good shape as he was back in high school.
