A historical novel inspired by real events, The Bastard Prince of Versailles, narrates the escapades of a misborn "prince" during the reign of Louis XIV in seventeenth-century France. Louis de Bourbon wasn't a real prince-even though his father was King Louis XIV.

While tending his family’s garden one September morning in 1779, a young commoner encountered a prince in a chance meeting that would change both of their lives. The young man certainly never imagined that he was setting out on a journey that would take him from the quaint village where he was born to the magnificent courts of Russia, Poland and England. But neither could the young farm boy have imagined that he would one day also witness firsthand the horrific treatment of the royal family imprisoned in a dark medieval prison during the mayhem of the French Revolution.

In this racy coming-of-age story, a child of France’s Sun King meets a secret society of gay men.
The Bastard Prince of Versailles is a lushly detailed historical novel that reconstructs the French court of the Sun King and brings it to sensual life. It’s a sympathetic, fictional character study of one of the king’s sons during his early years in which he discovers his attraction to other boys. Bashor embroiders the story in a confident voice that invites in readers who aren’t already familiar with the culture.

Very excited about the renewed interest in Jean-Baptiste Cléry, the only personal servant to remain with King Louis XVI and his family in the tower of the Temple Prison.

THE QUEEN’S COIFFEUR is the story of Leonard Autié, the role he played in the life of his most famous client, and the chaotic and history-making world in which he rose to prominence.
Was Leonard indirectly responsible for the very first attacks upon the queen, found in inflammatory pamphlets circulating as early as 1775. The attacks were prompted by Leonard's incredibly fanatical hairstyles, concoctions that reached such a height that it was necessary for ladies to kneel on the carriage floor--or hold the towering hairpieces outside the coach windows en route to gala balls and the opera.
