7-year-old Annabeth refusing to go to bed during her first month in the Athena cabin. Annabeth sitting up in bed, holding a pillow to her chest, as her eyes fill with tears because she's terrified that if she closes them, something will get her. Begging through her tears, asking her new siblings check under the bed to make sure there’s nothing there. Older campers keep trying to reassure her and checking, but she keeps insisting they're doing it wrong. A group of tired Athena campers sneaking out in the dead of night to drag Luke from the Hermes Cabin so he can get her to sleep. 7-year-old Annabeth flinging herself into his arms as she sobs because she's already lost so much, and now she doesn't even have her big brother watching over her.

It’s all fun and games until someone brings up the fact that the scene where Percy tells Nico about Bianca is paralleled to Apollo telling him about Jason. The fact that Nico knew what happened in both situations, but still asked just in case it was all a bad dream. Just in case he had a ‘normal’ mortal dream rather than a factual dream. Oh, and then he runs away in both scenes, leaving a literal trail of death behind (ironic)

Apollo and Artemis are so similar that a lot of times their domains cross over. do you guys ever think that since Artemis has no children that sometimes Apollo's kids have traits or powers that would normally count more towards Artemis? Like say the child is a good tracker and hunter and loves to be out in the forest. maybe the kid isn't good at music but they can replicate any animal call. I highly doubt this could happen but I think it would be really interesting if it did.

The mischaracterization of people from PJO is so funny, but ESPECIALLY from HOO onward like.
“Hazel’s such an innocent little angel. She’s always nice and kind and confused.”
Hazel, who’s always ready to fight in the same way Percy is? Hazel, who made it explicitly clear she probably would’ve rocked Octavian’s shit had he not been blackmailing her? Who gets so angry on behalf of the people she loves, to the point where she doesn’t forgive those who have wronged them? Who Percy described as cursing up a storm in one of their first interactions? Who’s been shown time and time again to be FAST to anger? That Hazel?
Or Nico, who’s “a misunderstood emo. A small bean. Cute like a wet cat and innocent like a bunny.”
Nico, who’s cannonically described by most characters as “scary and unnerving?��� Nico, who, for a long time, is one of the angriest characters in the series? Who’s only sassy and sarcastic because it took him FOUR YEARS to mellow out? Who’s described as being one of the most powerful demigods, who a lot of people still consider the scariest? Who’s come into his own as a character from TTC to TSATS? That Nico?
Or Annabeth who’s, “cold and calculating. Doesn’t show emotion or express herself”
Annabeth, who’s the most expressive person in the series? Who cries in EVERY book in the OG series? Whether it be for Luke, or Thalia, or Percy, or Chiron, or a literal DOG? Who expresses passion like no other when it comes to architecture and her other interests? Who’s expressed compassion for people she didn’t know? People who at times posed a threat to her? Who isn’t afraid to be angry, or happy, or snide, or rude, or excited, or scared, or ecstatic? Who’s been unapologetically herself since the moment the series started? That’s who doesn’t show emotion? That’s Annabeth?

you know that ADHD feeling where you’ve got something coming up, some big plan or some small thing you’re looking forward to, some event happening in the future, and your whole being seems to put itself in standby mode? it’s just waiting. that’s all life is, until finally your thing happens and then it’s over. it’s over and now you don’t know what to do with yourself.
can you imagine Percy’s experience with that feeling? for four years of his life, he’s been told his existence was outlawed because of a prophecy that could destroy Olympus. so he knows. he knows that either he’ll die before this happens, or he’ll be the one in the prophecy. he’ll be the reason the gods have lived in fear since this prophecy’s creation.
he’s got that hanging over him for years. that death or that destiny.
and then he reads the prophecy. he learns the wording, learns the future, and realizes, “this was only ever going to end with my death.” he’s the half-blood of the eldest gods. the prophecy said hero’s soul cursed blade shall reap. he has ample reason to believe that he’ll die on his sixteenth birthday. that he’ll never get a future.
it looms. all he can do is train and wait. standby mode activate.
he goes to war. he leads his camp against an army, fights to save his city, the world, the campers. kills a titan, makes a hurricane, destroys a bridge. fights, and fights, and fights until the moment comes. until he’s realizing he’s been wrong. he’s not the hero. he doesn’t need to die.
and when it’s all said and done, Percy doesn’t know what to do with himself anymore. he’d been prepared to die to save the world. that was his whole plan. how is he supposed to keep going? what is he supposed to do with this future that he’d been certain he wouldn’t have? he has so many options and possibilities and choices open to him now. how overwhelming must that be?

Jason Grace who wonders why Percy gets his memories back but he doesn't. Why Percy was allowed to grow up with his mother.
But Jason was stolen from his.
Percy gets to grow up surrounded by those who genuinely love him. People who love him enough to search for him when no one looked for Jason.
Percy gets to joke around with his father while Jason has never met Jupiter. The closest he's gotten to him is Zeus who very openly doesn't like Jason.
Percy even gets a sister and Jason loves Thalia but they're basically strangers.
Everything Jason's been told was all a lie. Everyone who's ever loved him was from afar, the only relationship he's ever had was all fake.
But he doesn't say it because he cares about Percy, because he deserves the best. He wants to be happy for him. Jason is at his side, helping him through his trauma of Tartarus.
And feeling horrible for any feelings of jealously and bitterness.
Because Percy's suffering, his life is far from perfect. He's getting the life he deserves. Percy's going to New Rome University. He's got the girl and love of his life.
He's going to live a more peaceful life. And it's everything Jason wants but never will have.
He knows that, he knows that even after leaving Camp Jupiter.
Jason has nothing to lose. His friends will move on and it's not like Camp Jupiter will ever mourn him. No achievements he gets will ever matter.
He realises the true differences between them is that Percy Jackson is human. He's completly and utterly and painfully human.
In all the ways that Jason Grace is not. He's nothing but a tool and a pawn. He will never know peace, he will never know love and care.
Everything about him from his memories to his personality was all manufactured. Jason was made for a purpose, designed to fall at the right moment just like a domino.
And it's time Jason accepts that. It was nice to pretend, just for a year that he was a person who deserved better.
But Jason knows the truth. So he writes his letters, cleans his dorm and leaves without a second word.
"Hey, Percy? Don't ever stop being you. I hope you have fun at New Rome, the welcome party should be a blast."
"I will but you're er starting to freak me out a bit man... You make it sound like you won't be there with me even though I invited you."
"I'm glad, that we got to meet. Maybe we'll meet again some day."
